  1. if you have the newer beta tekkit, you can use the Thermal Expansion itemducts and route into a trashcan. Setup like so, place quarry with a regular chest on top, route items ducts out about 6 pieces long. Place the trashcan down about halfway and a large chest on the end. I use a gold chest there. Then, make and apply 2 pneumatic servos, one on the itemduct connection on the regular chest, and one on the trashcan. Set the connection on the regular chest to output with a wrench, then set redstone signal to disable. Set the connection on the trashcan to whitelist only certain items, so only the trash you don't want goes in. I add dirt, sand, cobble, sandstone, raw squid if I'm over water, gravel, salt peter, and whatever else. Keep in mind this method only lets you trash nine types of items so if you want to trash more, add another trashcan and pnuematic servo. This method uses ore dictionary also so it will trash all types of stone also, which is handy with all the types. Using this method I had a 64x64 quarry running and only had issues with it filling when it got close to the bottom and hit a bunch of lava. It stared filling the chest with Obsidian too quickly.
  2. not sure quarry plus was in the older tekkit was it? he is still on MC1.5.2 version
  3. Yes iron is what will get you pretty much every ore, at least i the overworld, except Obsidian which will require diamond. Once you get to the nether to get cobalt and ardium you will need alumite or steel from Tinker's Construct. If you make a TC smeltery though you could make a iron pickaxe that you could add lapis lazuli to pretty early and redstone and coal and such will drop much more than usual once you add quite a bit of lapis. Start down the tinkers construct by reading the "Materials and you" book.
  4. why not just make a quarry and 4 landmarks and let it run till it hits bedrock? You'll get loads of everything that way. Be aware a full size quarry does take up to 10mins to complete one layer (64 by 64), especially if not given the full power it needs. If you are only needing gold, diamonds, etc. and not wanting to muck up your world with quarry holes everywhere on the surface you can place one around level 30ish or so and get the good stuff easier. It is a bit harder this way to set up a large one though. You will get loads of cobble, sand, gravel and such, so be ready to void pipe, DSU, or trashcan those. Cheers, hope this helps.
  5. Roger that, I'll wait for the update, and then try again tomorrow i guess. That way I can confirm it's not an error on my side, ie installing the mod wrong or something. Yeah this is similar to what I have. I have a large bubble shape structure ( 2 domes together) roughly 15-20 blocks wide at the circumference and I have 4 sealers in the bottom of the bubble with 2 oxygen collectors for each sealer all pretty close to one another. Hope the update will fix, thanks in advance Skuli
  6. Still world crashing upon loading. Last I played I was on the space station in front of my oxygen sealers in my big room in 1.2.5b. Pastebin link to crash report: http://pastebin.com/cwEXu76W This is the 1.2.5c version. Any help appreciated.
  7. yes this was on 1.2.5b =( EDIT: I should add I had no issues before in the previous version. The spacestation and moon base were all built in 1.2.4. Do I need to remake all the GC items in 1.2.5b?
  8. i've had them spawn on the surface in a mystcraft age, usually in clusters when they did
  9. sorry I edited my post about atomic science with info on this crash, made a new post for the report. Wasn't expecting there to be posts in between, here is what I posted in the other post about the crash.
  10. okay, a few small issues with new version of Atomic Science. thermometers read 317°C when the reactor isn't even on. reactors (at least fission ones) seem to melt down at 727°C now rather than 2000°C like before. If you set the thermometer to say 677°C, it actually kicks on when the reactor is only at 360°C, however even so my reactor only got to a temp of 683°C when set this way. I changed the thermometer to 990°C and it kicks on when the reactor is around 700°C and it keeps it around that mark and seems to work as usual. I have no sound from my turbines now, I visually see them spinning, but can't hear them. I can't seem to get any power out of the electric turbines into my energy cells now ( is this the energy glitch you mentioned?) This is all that I have found at the moment. Edit: Went to check my space station, soon as I right clicked on one of my Oxygen sealers the game crashed, loaded back up, right click on it again, no issues. Move to next sealer, repeat the whole crash/load/okay thing. 2nd Edit: After checking third oxygen sealer through same process game seems to crash once loaded. Not 100% certain but I think it is due to the bubble it creates, when I looked at that bubble it crashes. Posted crash report down a few posts.
  11. a water source block added into the nether from creative mode does not evaporate fyi
  12. yeah best bet would be to search out some 'tekkit lets plays' on youtube. I like Gaming on Caffeine but he halted making new episodes due to atomic science kinda fouling up in the new 1.2.5 version. But he had many many episodes in the 1.1.10 version, went to space and came back and all that jazz.
  13. Yeah pretty much all atomic science stuff is now uncraftable do to motors not having a recipe. I had already built all my reactor stuff in 1.2.2 tekkit, then by 1.2.4 it all poofed out do to IDs changing. When they changed back in 1.2.5 since I had lost my whole setup now twice ( once to IDs changing, and once to not knowing I needed more than one control rod now) so I cheated them in to replace what I had lost. Never noticed the motors fiasco. I can't find a reliable wiki that is up to date about this mod. I really do like it and hope it doesn't get pushed out, but it is becoming a big hassle.
  14. want a change of scenery hit space, the moon or mars
  15. Thanks for the link. Ahh I do see the chunk loader now that you say that. I have had an issue sometimes with chunk loading, or generation. I would leave my base, walk 200m or so out to the quarry. Hang out awhile, go to return to base and sometimes like 3 or 4 chunks in a line would vanish. I wouldn't see them vanish they just wouldn't be there, I could see into the ground and such. They were there when I walked past minutes ago. A simple save, quit and reload would fix it but I'm not on a server, just my single player world. Sorry I guess I can't do anything to help, I had to google MCPC+ just now. I'm just an old guy who's noobish at all this stuff.
  16. I think steam going through fluiducts got fixed in 1.2.4 but all Atomic Science IDs got changed so everything built in 1.2.3 that is an Atomic Science item will vanish if you load a 1.2.4 world. The IDs were switched back in 1.2.5, however the steam interaction between funnels and liquiducts was reset ( i.e. broken again) in 1.2.5 but there is a simple fix, you could also do this with a 1.2.2 version if you don't want to update. Go into your tekkit folder, by default, if using Win7, it is C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\AppData\Roaming\.technic\tekkitmain\config once there find the AtomicScience.cfg file, open it with notepad, scroll down and find the line that says B:"Allow Layered Turbines"=false and change the word false to true, save and close the file, reload minecraft and you will be able to pump steam through funnels, into liquiducts and into reactor turbines.
  17. Try placing a chunk loader TonyVS? Had to do this to get the quarry and/or pump to keep going unless I stood by it. btw, where did you get the space station template? Saw you post about it previously.
  18. Yeah, like Norman said the easiest way would probably to make two unlinked books via the mystcraft mod and link one to the top, and one to the bottom, then place them in the opposite spot and just use them to teleport up and down. But from what I've read on the wiki it says you can't use a book that links to the same dimension you are currently in. A possible work around could be to make a book to a random age and build a solid room up around where you spawn there to make a room to TP around to various overworld places.Might even be able to dig down and wall off and area to make a large TP room, but you'd have to bring another unlinked book in so you could link it to the new room or you'd spawn at the original entry point every time. EDIT: did a little research, seems qcraft can make portals you can use to teleport with. this video should help
  19. Realized just now you didn't want to know how I set up my reactor but how I powered my stuff. Well like said at the end of the other post I use a tesseract ( which I didn't cheat in, found a ender lake in a mystcraft age) to send it out to a quarry or BC pump when needed. However before I had that Tesseract I used A few redstone energy cells. I would charge one, and use one on the quarry, and keep rotating. I've found the new TE3 conduits connect to almost anything and give it power. Even GC stuff that requires power in from a certain side, these will power from anyside. I haven't used any ME network storage, steve's carts, Logistic Pipes, MFFS, Openperiperal, Bigreactors, or Powersuits stuff. I'm only using Buildcraft, galactic craft, atomic science, TE3, and Mystcraft. So all my stuff hooks right up. I've noticed the power drain mentioned by others from the GC machines, but I just move the conduit that powers them slightly to break the power loop for them when not in use.
  20. I don't know if they lowered or not. I seem to make more power now than I did before. Used to use almost a whole fissil fuel rod ( bout 75%-85%) to fill my batteries, now I'm filling in under half a rod( over 50% left). I did change from opaque to regular fluiducts though when I had to remake my reactor setup.
  21. Ok, here is how I set up my fission reactor in 1.2.5 Tekkit. This is laid out in a superflat test world, but I use an exact copy in my basement. The lasers are there for power drain when I was testing the control rods. http://imgur.com/a/Q8qqJ The first image is overall of how I set it up. Basically it is a 5x5 water square, surrounded by hardened glass, with sides one layer above the water, but not over it. Fission reactor is set directly in the middle of the water. With the thermometer in front. Second image is of the steam funnels over the water but more importantly it shows how the fluiducts are wrenched to only input in the center of the turbines. Seems to make much more power this way to me. I can fill 2 redstone energy cells and a hardened energy cell with less than half a single fissil fuel rod, when the redstones are are 8m out of the 10m full I yank the rod and put it away in chest. The steam contained runs the system to fill them the rest of the way and then some. The final image is a close up of the 3 control rods, sticky pistons, and rednet cables connected to the thermometer which is set to 1860°C. Seems to at least take more than one control rod now, I just use three. I also have a fluiduct set to pull out mode and redstone signal disabled connected to the very bottom of the reactor and then to a void pipe to drain the toxic waste from the reactor. I then run the power to batteries, which power all my TE3 machines in my base, and I have a tesseract connected to my power lines and itemducts. The tesseract can be laid directly on top of a quarry, to accept items then send them home to be machined or stored, and I use 2 hardened energy conduits to power the quarry. This reactor setup gives my all the energy I need currently.
  22. I was able to click on my writing desk with no issue. Ahh, mine was crafted though not taken from the village. Atomic Science - 1.2.5 seemed to reset or re-break the interaction between steam funnels and fluiducts again. A quick change to the atomic science config file recommended by Jakalth fixed it though.
  23. but then all my IDs will be different than the rest of the community correct? If this is true I'll just rebuild it again, shouldn't take long.
  24. Does this mean I'll have to rebuild the reactor room again? I was the 1st report of Atomic Science changing and I already rebuilt. Glad to see I wasn't the only one with the single control rod issue.
