The Technic launcher has nothing to do with the vanilla launcher, the two don't interact in any way, so it's perfectly fine to run the regular Minecraft launcher for Vanilla.

Tekkit shouldn't be crashing in singleplayer, there's more wrong there than it just "being designed for multiplayer"

Are you using high speed rails? Because you need another rail to lower carts to normal speed after they've been on highspeed rails. I can't remember which it is right now.

Hell, if it's possible to avoid ad.fly when manually installing, I do it. Redpower for example, it's trivial to type the download path for the old versions in and just change the version number to the relevant one, I wouldn't do that if Eloraam would just provide a single download for all packages, but I'm not going to sit through adfly 7 times just to download a mod.

The ChunkLoader block recipe is 8 iron around 1 lapis now, it changed a while back. You get 4 per recipe tho.

The diamonds are actually wrapped up in a section of Steve's shirt, the cube shape is just the way his eyes percieve everything. Steve uses his supreme karate skills to chop the log into planks, and then arranges them into hollow cubes.

Disabling Millenaire then reenabling it should do the trick. It'll leave a bunch of floating torches and shit though. Alternatively, digging a deepish moat around their village should halt growth
