Re: Common Problems (And their solutions) While I could, that sounds like it would need it's own thread until a solution is found. Since you are a mod, you could make a sticky for posting pastebins of that and include the information there. I want to keep this thread for confirmed fixes. Otherwise it gets too scatter-shot. This is also why I said not to post questions here. This thread isn't for FINDING the solutions, it is for the solutions that are already found.
-
Ok then that is an entirely different problem. Namely you not reading the stickies. Especially the one about common problems and their solutions.
-
Did... you not read my reply? If the mod is in the mods folder then yes. Otherwise no.
-
Huh. That moves it officially beyond my area of expertise. I'm sorry, but I don't know. The best I can give you is to try from a clean slate. Delete everything in the appdata/roaming/.techniclauncher folder and try again.
-
Weird. So it just stops? No explanation or log or anything? Is the loader freezing; or is the download just stalling, but you can close the program just fine?
-
Huh. Try downloading the Mac version(Which is not specific to the mac, it is just the .jar rather then the .exe.) Run the.jar through java and it should pop open the technic launcher.
-
Re: Common Problems (And their solutions) OP means Original post, or Opening post.
-
At what stage is it failing? Is it not downloading the .jar fully? Or is it not downloading minecraft and the mods themselves?
-
Re: Common Problems (And their solutions) Added another problem. Sorry, but this one isn't an easy fix.
-
Not sure about the lag, other then to turn down the specs of minecraft until it starts running smoothly again. As for the mods not turning off, make sure that the mod in question is actually in the mods folder. MAtmos for instance will get turned off. NEI however will not.
-
Interesting, I just tried it and he is right it isn't working. It might be because NEI isn't actually in the mods folder, so modloader has nothing to do with it.
-
humm... you could also try installing the mac version, it doesn't have the fancy installer, but you get the .jar at least. Run that through java and it ... should work.

getting stuck at the mojang screen(did not find a working fix)
Zebrin replied to doetschie's question in Technic Launcher
Happy to help. And please use the edit button. -
Huh. Well. Ok then, try deleting the entire file, then re-using the installer. If that does the same thing again, just delete that installer and get a new copy of it because the one you have might be borked.
-
Interesting, now that you have tried the proscribed fix and it didn't work, you actually have a use for this thread! Ok, if it is a temp file then that means it probably didn't fully install. In fact, why don't you give me a run down of what is actually in the .techniclauncher file

getting stuck at the mojang screen(did not find a working fix)
Zebrin replied to doetschie's question in Technic Launcher
Hey amazing. Someone with enough of a brain to search before asking! Yours is a dying breed these days. This looks more like you are having a problem with minecraft itself if it happens with vanilla too. Have you tried removing small portions of that file and seeing if that works? Try deleting only the meta-inf file inside the jar. It might be enough to trick the launcher into not downloading a new copy. -
Why don't you try looking around the forums, there are several people who had the same error as you, who have already had them fixed. Hell it got so irritating I even made a thread about common problems and their given workarounds. Go to appdata/roaming/.techniclauncher and run the .JAR file through java. Oh, and don't be an impatient prick.
-
I grow tired of typing out the whle thing, so instead I am going to refer you to the common problems and solutions thread. it has a work around for that.
-
Re: Common Problems (And their solutions) Good catch, edited into the OP.

Can't Find java directory (Have both 32bit and 64bit installed already)
Zebrin replied to mouse0270's question in Technic Launcher
Did you try the solution in the common problems(And solutions) thread? -
Mod edit: This thread is being retired in favor of a new one. Thank you Zabrin for creating this one. Please look at this thread for current information. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,4191.0.html IF THE LAUNCHER ACTUALLY LAUNCHES POST YOUR NEWEST LOG (the one called launcher_0.log) ON www.pastebin.com THEN THE LINK HERE. LOGS ARE FOUND IN .techniclauncher/logs Ok, there have been a lot of people opening threads asking the same damn questions that have already been answered several times before. This thread is for the hotfixes and work arounds that have already been found. Do NOT ask questions here. They will only shit up the thread. If you do not see a fix here, and have one feel free to post it and PM me so that I can update the op. Anyone who does ask a question in this thread will be ignored at best. Windows users: The Technic Pack is downloaded to C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher It is a hidden file, so go to your Control Panel, select Folder Options, and in the view tab turn view hidden folders on. Mac users. The Technic Pack is downloaded to ~/Library/Application Support/techniclauncher Problem: When using the launcher, It opens, says "Checking Launcher Version" And then shuts down. Spout does not open afterwards. Reason: Unknown. Solution: Go to AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher and open the techniclauncher.jar file in java. It will open the launcher, and will let you play technic through spout. Problem: Unable to change mods Using the Mod Select function. Reason: Likely you don't have .cfg files set to be read yet. Solution: go to AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\technicssp\config and right click on any of the .cfg files there. click open with and set it to always run with notepad.(Macs use textedit) Now you can change mods within the launcher. If the option is greyed out just click on the big technic logo and it should become active again. Problem: 'Can't find java directory' Reason: Likely using an old version of java. Or the wrong type. Solution: Try downloading the Java 7 version here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-7u2-download-1377135.html Also if you are using 64 bit windows try installing the 64 bit version then setting it as the default Java used in your controlpanel. Problem: Norton deletes the file when I download it. citing "WS.Reputation.1 Reason: The program is new, without a large company behind it. Solution: Get a new Virus scan Right click on the Norton security suite icon in the lower right hand corner near your clock, and disable the antivirus auto protect. just set it to turn on again in 15 minutes if you feel uncomfortable about it being off. Problem: NEI won't let me cheat! Reason: It is locked into recipe mode. Solution: Well if you really want to cheat so badly you go into AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\technicssp\config and find the NEI.cfg file(Note, NOT the mod_notenoughitems.cfg file) In there find a line that says "lock_recipe_mode=true" and change it to "lock_recipe_mode=false" Problem: I can't turn off NEI(And a couple other mods) through modloader.cfg! Reason: Those mods are not in the mods folder, so modloader doesn't have anything to do with them. Solution: Sorry but, looks like you are going file hunting. If they are not in the mods folder that means they were hard added to the .jar meaning you will have to find out what classes they added and changed and revert them the hard way. Problem: Ok, I tried everything, and the .exe still wont work! Reason: Varies. Solution: Well, if you can't get the technic-launcher.exe to work, download the .jar itself and run that through java. You can find it easily under the mac version of the technic pack. (Which is not mac specific, just a .jar.) Problem: I am running the launcher, but every time I select Login it freezes at a white screen! Reason: The "Latest Light Weight Java Games Library Binaries" option doesn't work for everyone. Solution: Turn off advanced lwjgl. Problem: The latest LWJGL binaries option wasn't on and I am still getting a white screen. Reason: Varies. Solution: First, try going to AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\technicssp\bin and open the jinput.jar in 7zip. Delete Meta-INF. If that doesn't work nuke the .techniclauncher folder and re-download it. More to come as more solutions are found.
-
Humm, you're right. I don't see it in the mods folder either. Maybe you could try installing optifine over a vanilla .minecraft and seeing what classes it change? If you remove or revert those changes then it should disable optifine. Seems like you get the hard one. (I was thinking MAtmos Sorry.) Other then that I don't know. Sorry.
-
Yes actually. The first thing you will need to do is find where technic installed itself. For windows it is AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher Once there go into the technicssp file, then into the Config file (End result should look like this AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\technicssp\config) and then right click any of the .cfg files there. Set them to always open with notepad. Now go to the launcher and hit the mods select button, there should be a list of mods there that you can turn on or off at your leisure.

Technic Launcher: Agelian is the Jesus of Technic
Zebrin replied to KakerMix's question in Technic Launcher
You need to access the file from in the appdata/roaming/.technicpack. run the JAR there through java. -
Compatibility with Minecraft Profile Manager?
Zebrin replied to letica13s's question in Technic Launcher
Aside from moving the technicpack's .minecraft folder into a new profile manually, there is no way to use the profile manager with TP. The two are not compatible yet. One of the profile managers is working to make itself compatible with the spout launcher though.
