About advanced machines: yes, you can overclock them. MV makes it easier. About the setup: oh god, I've never played with sphax. I can't make head or tails of that contraption - where are the transformers, where are the batboxes, which sides are input, which sides are output?
-
Could you post a screenshot of your setup? Also, you don't need LV transformers for induction furnaces, they can accept MV just fine. Be aware, though, all the other advanced machines (Rotary macerators, centrifuge extractors, singularity compressors) can accept MV, but will be VERY inefficient until you put transformer upgrades in them.

Red Matter armor VS Quantum armor?
Viktor_Berg replied to PhysicsVG's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
By the way, the durability of nano and quantum armor is severely reduced in IC2 v1.103. Expect less overpoweredness in the next version of Technic/Tekkit. -
It gets dark when im in survivial mode and in my tunnel
Viktor_Berg replied to Johne171's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
That's the depth fog. It gets worse at lower depths, and is disabled in creative. You can also disable it in Optifine (which Technic Pack has) - check in Video Options. -
Looking For someone to play tekkit with
Viktor_Berg replied to jackquinn88's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
There is a total of 3 subforums for Tekkit servers, just below the Tekkit SMP section in the main forum. Try looking for a server that fits your needs - I guarantee you will find one. -
Constantly getting electrocuted by insulated copper wires
Viktor_Berg replied to MayaYT's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
You really should have EVERYTHING insulated as much as possible. You are probably getting shocked by all that uninsulated wiring, at least in shot 3. I've played with IC2 for a LONG time, and have never been shocked by properly insulated wiring or transformers. -
Well that was a waste of time....
Viktor_Berg replied to Stevolution's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Are you sure you're not creating a program where it loops the same command over and over instantly? Try adding a small wait for every loop, that should drastically reduce the loop speed. -
How to make a 6 directional Frame Vehicle?
Viktor_Berg replied to gavjenks's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I don't mean to criticize... But taking screenshots at night and then resizing them to just above thumbnail size is not how you provide instructions and/or guidelines. Could you please make the images larger, and preferrably in daytime? -
Computercraft startup issue and railcarts
Viktor_Berg replied to Stevolution's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
IIRC, Railcraft adds cart detector blocks. Find them in NEI, determine which ones you need (there is a boatload of different ones), craft them and place them under the rail where you want to detect the cart. Also, I think some of the detector blocks actually have an interface that allows one to configure them, but I might remember wrong - it's been long since I've played around with the mod. Edit: Yes, there are detectors for so many cases. You can use an Advanced Detector to detect a certain type of minecart, and even Train Detectors to detect trains of certain sizes. There is also an IC2 storage cart detector. http://railcraft.wikispaces.com/Detectors+%28Device%29 -
Redpower Buildcraft Contraption
Viktor_Berg replied to Strokend's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I wasn't really advocating either of the alternatives (even though I would personally prefer to make a RedPower-based miner), I was just replying to the statement about efficiency itself. -
Redpower Buildcraft Contraption
Viktor_Berg replied to Strokend's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
As a cybernetics engineer, I take offense in this statement. Efficiency and optimization are staples of technological advancement, and calling it "dumb" is about as offensive as you can be towards technology. -
Press O.

Damn, never thought of it. Indeed, the pump places down water sources in any tiles that are not taken up by other source blocks - I assume this includes running water?
-
Clearing a huge swath of water is not a problem - MFFS Area Projector with underwater upgrade. The problem is filling it all up with water again - neatly, so that there are no underwater currents left. Any ideas?

How would you customize EE to make it balanced?
Viktor_Berg replied to Naturam's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I would personally eliminate the collectors and perhaps the relays. Also, increase EMC value of diamonds (to make them harder to synthesize from common materials) even further, and separate most if not all EE specific materials and tools into the Fuel category in the Transmutation Tablet. To balance the inability to spontaneously generate EMC out of thin air, somewhat decrease the price of dark matter and red matter, so that it's still possible to create them within a human's lifetime. Klein Stars can still be charged in the Tablet, so the overall functionality of the mod shouldn't be hampered. Thinking of which, I'd probably split the transmutation recipes even further, like separate organic matter and minerals/metals from the rest.
