  1. People were complaining that slimes were too rare, especially when slimeballs are so crucial for pistons. I guess that's why they changed it up, and also because it makes biomes a bit more diverse. Maybe other biomes will eventually get unique animals/mobs.
  2. I surely hope so. The lack of multicore support in the current rendering engine is downright atrocious. We will most likely have much greater flexibility with textures, though. The most recent snapshot shows custom animated textures at resolutions that differ from surrounding areas.
  3. Slimes now mainly spawn in swamp biomes (and still underground). One way would be to move away from a swamp biome. Other than that, you can use several tactics to prevent monster spawn. You can cover your floor in transparent material (like glass), or with microblock panels, because as far as I know, they are considered non-opaque, as well.
  4. Retrievers and sorters can pull whole stacks of items at a time. They can pulse as fast as every 0.4 seconds. The thing is, though, the sorting machine only pulls out as many items as there are specified in the filter per operation. I.e. if you put 1 cobble into the sorting machine, it will only pull 1 cobble every operation. If you put 64, it will wait until there's a stack of cobble before pulling it. Therefore, retrievers are the best for this - their power is well worth the relative expensiveness (ender pearls). So put a retriever with nothing in it near the chest, then a sorting machine after that, where you can sort the contents of the chest.
  5. The balance is broken. No real need to build anything (hint: jetpacks). The allure of the original AoS was trench warfare - which is pretty much gone now.
  6. Problem with the default TE ore distribution is that copper spawns too high up. If I remember correctly, 72 is the default surface elevation for flat terrain. Below that there is several layers of dirt. Then there's the various holes and more importantly, oceans, that lower the mineable area for copper considerably.
  7. Depends on how you link it. There's a thing called "Direct Link" when you upload to imgur, which is what contains the proper file.
  8. Why would you need permissions for a private modpack?
  9. And YOU might notice that they don't have the same URL. Minecraft forums are not hosted on the official Minecraft website (which only gives a link to them in the Community section), and aren't even maintained by Mojang.
  10. I can think up a setup to do this, but it'd be unnecessarily complicated, and also unreasonably slow. What I would suggest would be to process ALL your iron ore into iron ingots, and then create refined iron when needed using a similar, but much simpler setup, skipping the macerating process (as well as an additional step of smelting iron) altogether. Because those 2 processes would require a number of additional components to automate properly, taking up both time and space. It's a sad thing that Logistics Pipes are not in Tekkit Classic, and are not updated to 1.4.6 either...
  11. I've talked to Cheap Shot on the topic of backseat moderation, and he said that it's completely alright for regular users to point out rule breaking, at least as far as signing your posts goes. I'd assume the same about posting in the wrong sub forum.
  12. I am curious, why are engines banned? As far as I know, they do not cause any more lag than any other block update (i.e. RP2 filters etc).
  13. What part of "Equivalent Exchange" is it that is not understandable? The original purpose of the mod was to allow for an easy conversion between different materials. The mod went to shit exactly when xeno started adding features that produce EMC literally out of thin air. As for why condensers were removed - it is too easy to automate the process, turning the mod from an easy way to convert one material into another, and into an automatic cobblestone-to-diamonds generator. Don't forget that you can put quarries underground, killing 2 birds with 1 stone: avoiding surface damage, AND reaching gold/diamond layers much faster, without having to dig through ~50 layers of stone, dirt and occasional coal/iron. [EDIT]: I've read the thread, and many of my points are redundant because they've been pointed out already. I apologize for any repeating I've done.
  14. Hmm, seems like you are not using the pack that has AA/AF included. In that case, I can't help you, sorry, try to take it to the Tekkit Bug Board.
  15. 1. http://forums.technicpack.net/forums/scribble-parlour.45/ 2. Fix your grammar. 3. Do not sign posts.
  16. You know, you could have researched a bit more before giving up. It's under "Quality". P.S. Don't double post.
  17. Options -> Video Settings -> AA (set to none), AF (set to none).
  18. Disable anisotropic filtering and/or anti-aliasing. They are the two causes for this glitch.
  19. Yogbox is no longer supported, it seems.
  20. Never trust someone called "cheap shot" - you never know when they might lash out at you like a rabid dog.
  21. I suggest playing games that distance yourself from the playing field. Top-down or isometric games are the best choice. Will also allow you to explore different game genres. If you like city builders, try Pharaoh. Really, do it. It could also have the effect of calming down your parents.
  22. I used this a few times, but it is both ridiculously bothersome to collect all that shit, and very, VERY annoying if you hit lava. Say goodbye to your ores unless you stop the filler, and flood all the lava that is now hanging in midair.
  23. The Sortron looks interesting, but FORTH is not my thing. I hope CC will implement the ability to interface with ribbon cables. There are caged lamps and fixtures now. And yes, all 3 types of lamps have inverted versions.
  24. Well, at least the blog went back up.
  25. You should try to find some lua tutorials online, plenty of interesting and important information. Then check computercraft wiki for the custom functions and APIs in computercraft (such as the particulars of the redstone API, or the colors API).
