Pumps are a decent drain because in most cases they're working for long periods of time. I've had one drain a couple of batbox's with 8 solars attached, but it was also running for many minecraft days draining a lava ravine.

That would be my guess. When you look at the Technic site, there is nothing that really screams out that you need to have a valid minecraft account. So people who don't know what Minecraft is that come across this website will just download the launcher and try to get it to work.

I plan to do this. Only better. My first topic is going to be about how much clouds are lazy, just floating there not doing anyone any good. How they just... rain on you when you don't need it and disappear when you -do- need the rain. How they make an otherwise sunny day turn into a humidified sauna. God. Damn. CLOUDS! I've taken classes in contract law, so a lot of what she's doing is out of my realm of knowledge, but there are still things I did learn, like on what grounds you have for a suit. Hell, I even pointed out why this is a pointless endeavor and did a line by line conversation with her solicitor on how this would probably go. Then when she claimed I lied about her keller status being removed previously, I brought evidence from her own words to state otherwise. Have you tried rigging up those steam engines to a conductive pipe and running said pipe to the quarry instead of having steam engines directly connected? I haven't used buildcraft in forever, so I'm totally just guessing right now based on a mod I haven't used in forever.

Most of the mods in Tekkit work just fine. I say most because there are some that have pretty catastrophic capabilities, such as the nukes in IC2, EE, and buildcraft just to name three of the more sought out mods people like. There -are- safeguards. But you, the server owner, are responsible for putting them in place -and- having a capable staff on the ready to use those measures when griefing occurs, and it will occur. Tekkit itself works fine. That being said, if you want your server to last, you'll need to go in and make hard decisions. As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, disabling everything EE is a popular option. You'll also want to go in and modify/remove components of IC2 as things such as nuclear meltdowns, nukes themselves, and the varieties of TNT all need to be either have their damage modified, or disabled. Mind you, I don't run a server but I do play on one that, as far as I can tell, has probably the -best- grief prevention and response I have ever witnessed. I've tried a great deal of servers and I never last on them because I always seem to get there after some major grief and the server owners have no idea how to handle it; however, SGTekkit seems to really have their shit together.

Zealdd is correct. You're barking up the wrong tree. Technic is only responsible for providing the modpack. It is up to the server owner in question to provide safeguards against griefing, but even then you'll find that, other than not letting anyone play on your server, there is no way to prevent griefing 100%.

Well there are ways to work around it. Stick a transposer over the bench with a tube that leads to a buffer. Then you can have a retriever pull items from the buffer instead.

Run around a server where everyone and their mother has made a 64x64 quarry or three on land. Torezu actually answered this already. The OP is actually using the Buildcraft Miner and not mistaking it for the buildcraft pump. In which case he's just going to dig down no matter what and leave those horrid buildcraft mining pipes behind.

You know, I'm getting very spoiled on not having to even consider buildcraft as an option. It just makes life so much simpler.

I think you're talking about an IC2 Miner here. That requires something that produces EU, so I would hit up the IC2 wiki to learn how to do that. Also you will want to build an IC2 pump and stick it next to the miner. This will allow you to siphon liquids when you encounter them. Bear in mind these will connect to pretty much any pipe or tube you have -except- the redpower liquid pipes. They're not there yet, but they will be eventually. For now, you're stuck using buildcraft liquid pipes for liquid. Also, you will want to use a scanner in your miner to allow it to scan. There are 2 different kinds, but ideally you want an OV scanner. This will allow the miner to scan in a 9x9 area around it and pull out all the valuable minerals. Quarries use buildcraft energy. Go for it and enjoy the gaping rape holes it makes.

I've just accepted the label at this point. It's not so much owning the title as it is owning your words. I've said some pretty shitty things and although I may not agree with them now, I still own them as my own words because at the time I meant what I said. I don't come across as warm and fuzzy most of the time but I don't think that has a place on the internet, so I don't do it. I save my warm and fuzzies for the people who matter; my family. I don't think it's cool to be an asshole and anyone who does is in for a shocking and lonely contest prize. It's not something to strive for. I've been called an asshole and a dick more times than I can count here and other places. Maybe because I don't post LOL or some smiley emoticon to let people know I'm posting lightheartedly or what have you, probably because I'm not. But I try to deliver ways for people to do things on their own without coming here and asking for help like the tens and hundreds before them. Instead of giving a hungry man a fish to eat for a day, I teach the hungry man to fish so he can eat for a lifetime. Then I get called an asshole/dick for it because I didn't feed a hungry man.

That being said, if you don't understand what technic/tekkit is and ask things like if it will be ready "in time" for the next Minecraft release, you're just painting a big bullseye on yourself for the ridicule patrol.
