  1. You're making my job difficult Neo. Also, if there's anything I can do to help, let me know. I'm in IRC most of the time.
  2. Out of curiosity, you decided to resurrect a month old thread because you thought it was important to tell us this?
  3. You know what else gets you nowhere fast? Entitlement. That desire to feel like the Technic team, modders, or whoever owes you something. Guess what, no one owes you anything. Neo's hostility is in check here and rightly so. You're just blowing your little butt trumpet because you can't be bothered to open a normal craft table and put the parts in yourself. You need a mod in order to make your life in Minecraft just a little simpler. If I had any input at all, CT3 would never make an appearance again in Technic/Tekkit because of you and people just like you, which is a lot of people. Be happy that you have an easy to use launcher, that there are some guys who took time out of their day to put this pack together for you to use, instead of having to click and drag zips and files into jars and folders. Your post reeks of ungratefulness and that's why you're getting hostility. It's completely justified especially since Neowolf is one of the guys who's got a mod in these packs. If you have even a shred of dignity, you thank him and offer your butt for penetration.
  4. There are recorded instances of it crashing servers and clients alike. It hasn't happened to me because I steer clear of it. It's also why you don't see it in present builds. I'm not going to tell you how to dupe with it, but it's possible and it's a problem. Not as bad as the RM furnaces, but it's bad enough. The first time I decided to try it my client had a heart attack and my FPS dropped off quicker than kids in the pool. I'm not saying it doesn't work for everyone, but it breaks enough to have had it removed from the mod packs, thanks to the QC of Technic. Congratulations. You've just killed yourself of a really fun experience of making a machine to auto craft those solar arrays for you. Most of the fun in Technic/Tekkit is using the mods within to create fantastic pieces of engineering delight.
  5. Until it's made to not completely suck (crashes, duping, lagging, etc) and meets the level of quality for Technic/Tekkit, you'll be waiting a long time. The thing is a nightmare that does nightmarish things that gives your nightmares nightmares. It dupes nightmares. Who wants nightmares? Nightmares.
  6. If you won a key over twitter, and used it at planetside.com, then you're in. I'm in. Terran Republic! Time to die, bitches.
  7. A special congratulations to NicoA.D. and Micheal101 for necroing a post over a month old for things that really didn't need to be added. Bravo.
  8. Well when/if I ever get this done, I'd still like your feedback. I've always admired your blatant honesty. I'm not expecting much praise. Given that I'm doing it, it's 32x, and I'm doing it, it's being called the Absolute Crap Texture Pack.
  9. Far as I know, this -is- a tekkit version.
  10. That's why I'm only doing a 32x pack. I can normally run 64x with a handful of mods no problem. But with everything in Tekkit/Technic I can still play but with some pretty nasty stuttering. Felt 32x also kind of retains that Minecraft feel, but with a bit more depth. Of course I'm the one making it so it's not going to be that good. I'm about as much of an artist as I am a rocket scientist.
  11. Stop. You have 3GB? Ok, how much of that is usable RAM? If you're running Windows 7, most of that is going to be used up just in the OS alone. I've got 6GB installed, half of that is useable. I still have to run Minecraft with only 512 allocated because I, like you, have only a dual core processor. Although other games run well, Minecraft suffers as a result.
  12. jakj, thanks for that link to Torley. I've been working on building a texture pack from the ground up. I'll take any seamless image database because making them seamless is annoying.
  13. I've been using condensers pretty heavily with redpower tubes, filters, and transposers and haven't run into any corruption of any kind whatsoever. I can't verify to anything buildcraft related, but chances are if there is any corruption occuring between condensers and buildcraft, buildcraft would be the cause. You should be fine using condensers.
  14. Yes it is and it is beautiful. Just remember to pipe materials in through the bottom and have them pulled out from the top.
  15. Why are you using buildcraft pipes at all? Automatic Crafting Table MkII works with redpower tubes, has a built in buffer to store overflow items, and is far superior to anything related to buildcraft.
  16. No? I don't understand your problem here. In most cases I've got redpower machines building stacks of items at a time that can even have a singular trigger. That meaning, I press a button and I'll get a stack of an item and the machine turns itself off until triggered on again. For more complex things like solar power arrays, I can see how things might get tricky, but it's nothing some planning and elbow grease can't handle. As for your problem with the crafting table, just put a transposer over it and feed it to a buffer like Buccaneer suggested. Then have a retriever pulling items from the buffer, or filter if you're not wanting to go the blulectric route. The thing about buildcraft is that it's simple which is great for beginners and it's the only reason I'm not voting for the removal of buildcraft altogether. But you reach limits with buildcraft and sometimes players reach limits of understanding. You need to elevate your way of thinking with redpower because it's far more complex, which means you can build far more complex and accurate machinery.
  17. It might not be a bad idea. Buildcraft has a lot of potential to hork up a server. It's also a great way to get into the engineering aspect, as in it's easy to assemble a machine to meet your needs. Redpower does the same thing but it requires a bit more finesse and planning.
  18. Well, no. Tekkit 3.1 will most likely still use 1.2.5 because as far as I know it's just going to be an update/fix for existing mods. Also if you look at the history of Tekkit the number (Tekkit, Tekkit 2, etc) goes up with the release version. So Tekkit 4 may be for Minecraft 1.3 as they will need to wait for all the mods to update, then see what ports to bukkit, then see what works with what, then try and get it all to work together without exploding in a violent rage of stubbornness. That is going to take a lot of time. So I am expecting to see the next update of Tekkit to be 1.2.5 which I'm fine with. By the time we're ready for Tekkit 4, we will probably see a number of hotfixes by Mojang that will have ironed out or at least put a healthy dose of Spackle over any bugs that come out with 1.3. Personally 3.1 scares me. So much can go wrong and given Mojang's history and skill level, it's going to hurt real bad. I think we're going to see a lot of people get upset because with all the new framework going into Minecraft to support local LAN play, a lot of people are going to see drops in performance, which is going to spread rage and confusion quicker than Beiber Fever (same thing really).
  19. Before you continue I highly suggest watching some videos about what you're doing. I suggest doing a search on YouTube for direwolf20 and watching his stuff. You'll gain a pretty decent idea of what you need to do in order to achieve your goals.
  20. Well there are a lot that filter through here from MCF and those who have filtered through the Yogscast, which are mostly MCF users. But there is the Technic Rebellion that is here to fight the MCF scourge. I don't think we're well organized though and most of us hide in IRC or in our own respective hidey holes. But the resistance is resisting and we're resisting it well. Also yelling at people on the forums who are primarily MCF users is kind of like yelling at the mentally retarded. It's fun, but really easy and after everyone is done laughing you kind of feel bad for 'em. Yeah, actually that's pretty spot on except the key terms are different. I see the developmental builds more of an Alpha test, and the time right before it goes to the rec build the beta. Similiar to what they did with the Tekkit 3 release. But you've got a point.
  21. Well, maybe. But I'm all about the benefit of the doubt here. Maybe it was politeness due to post-defeat, we'll never know! But you can't expect people to take your hand when you're holding sharp pointy sticks. You have to offer an olive leaf first for them to trust you. Then when you've earned that trust, you crush them and make soup from their tears. Goes extremely well with garlic bread.
  22. I remember the first time I chose a dev build of Technic... it was vanilla. I will forever play that to figure out what secrets the dev team is hiding from me! Use it, abuse it, do whatever you want to do with it. Just get tested before you do anything with it, because I have no idea where it's been or where it came from.
  23. You're welcome! Thank you for being awesomely polite. You're a keeper. Something like that, only it's even easier. People typically don't understand that DEV means in-testing, so when something isn't added, or something was added and then later removed, people make decisions based on whatever they want to make decisions based on. In this case, they were super happy that EE was gone and jumped to that conclusion. It's a minimum of once a week someone asks if EE has been removed from Technic/Tekkit based on either the build itself, or something they saw on the forums (re: this thread) without reading through. Spark debate, enter facts, facts dismissed for opinions, rage, machine, eskeet everywhere, cigarettes are had. What were we talking about again?
  24. Someone needs to pump up his ego. This should be mildly amusing. I agree. Rip out those eyes! You'll be more successful than defending some dude on the internet who has the foresight of a mole. To save you the trouble, moles are almost blind. See what I did there? I'm hilarious! In this thread no. But this argument has been argued to death over and over both here and in IRC and probably all over the Minecraft community where Technic/Tekkit is related. So he's repeating it, we're repeating the argument, and he's repeating the argument of the argument. I could go on, but I'm going to try and be gentle on your ripped out eyes. You've ripped them out at this point, yes? Not only that but he's wrong in the fact that most manufactured items, save maybe 3 or so cannot be duplicated in a condenser. There are a ton of these items that are useful and although the raw materials of these items can usually be conjured up from the magic donkeys butthole, they still need to be processed and assembled. So, he's sort of wrong in his opinion, thus making it even more invalid and stupid. You're defending stupid people now Mr. Mole. How's that eye ripping option looking? HA! I just can't help myself! Ripping... eyes. No one? Are you new here? These forums aren't for the faint of heart. If you don't have the skin to handle someone getting in your internet face, sling their epeen across your cheek in a friendly duel of the internet where everyone is right and only the weak are wrong, then you've decided to place an even weaker argument on the table than that related to Equivalency Exchange. Not only that, but you had to awaken a thread from a month ago to say it. Are you looking for a fight? Did it just SCREAM at you that this guy needed defending a month ago? Are you some kind of internet defender who finally came across this file and went, HOLY BALLS I'M LATE! Better late than never? Not in this case. What the hell are you babbling on about? You must be new here because this is a common debate from morons who don't fully understand what the development build is about. Everytime EE disappears from a build people either get chubby's in their pants or rage against the machine. It's not going anywhere until the RECOMMENDED BUILD releases without it, then you'll know for absolute certain that it's not in. Jakj is right in every aspect to be frustrated at every moron who argues with him because even if it was in or out, you always have the option of disabling it if you don't like it, which pretty much goes for most of the technic/tekkit packs respectively. IT DOESN'T MATTER. Here's a tip for you and everyone that you defend over the internet. It is not the job of the TEchnic/Tekkit creators to maintain balance between mods. It's up to you or the server administrator (respectively) to determine what you want and what you don't want in the game. This whole argument you've constructed is full of hot air. Does this mean I have the right to kick you in the groin repeatedly until your balls fall out of your nostrils? Just curious as to the extreme we're going to determine the translation of nerd rage to physical violence. Also, you're a fucking moron. Do us all a favor and stop posting. Or I'll start posting more and no one wants that. There are places on the forum you can find it. The site is getting revamp'd and questions will be a TON easier to both browse, search, and ask. It's gonna be sweet, trust me. These guys (not the morons in this thread, with exceptions) are amazing at what they're doing.
  25. It's been my experience that either you get that, or you don't. I think they get that, they just don't understand that the bread and butter of their content now isn't going to last forever. Comics have a staying power that far outweighs any Let's Play video.
