  1. Perhaps this is what you're expecting? Because it's not going to happen. Do the research. It's not hard.
  2. And knowing is half the battle. The other half is usually a lot harder and someone dies at the end. The things GI Joe doesn't tell you.
  3. What instance of Tekkit are you running? Latest Dev? Rec Build? The one with tangy BBQ sauce? Also, will you please go get a hammer and smash your face in. I only say this because of the underlined. Thanks.
  4. Well, in Thaumcraft 2, if they spend enough time in a Tainted area, they'll become tainted themselves and be aggressive. However, this should be expected from anything whenever you're mucking around taint.
  5. Thaumcraft is pretty great. You're only basing it off of the wisps, which are such a minor thing of Thaumcraft. It's a very in depth mod that really can only be discovered on your own. You can watch other people play it, but their experience is going to be unique to them. As you discover more about it, you'll find things you both love and hate about it that aren't going to be on par with some, or maybe they will. The point is, you can't make an educated decision until you actually dive into it yourself. Otherwise, I'll heckle you. It's not pretty.
  6. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe that the latest version of the teleport power pipes still take distance into account for power degradation, which kind of make them useless. HOWEVER, I am not 100% on this and I don't know for sure. I'm sure someone who still uses buildcraft can provide detail or clarification on the matter. One way to figure out if the power is just dying off from distance is to just test by placing a power cable and seeing if it will receive power from the source cable, starting with a small increment and going longer from there.
  7. This right here, along with the lovely Yogbox-Only message, are probably reasons why it isn't in and won't be. It's been my experience that the Technic guys won't put in something that's unstable and will cause crashing in any event. So, until it's stable and Zhark decides to play nice, you won't see it in Tekkit. Not even sure about Technic after reading that.
  8. I'm not drunk, I'm just tired after a night of drinking

  9. I know for a fact you didn't even bother to do a search. If you aren't willing to do the work for your own server, why should anyone do any work to help you? Regardless... If you use the /reload command, this will make all non-vanilla items unable to successfully craft. So stop doing it.
  10. Yes. I am cynical and his few points aren't valid. That's pretty much the whole idea. His entire posting has been more about attempting to justify his retarded decision. He figured it out long before I took him on this magical carpet ride. As for you, Ms. Keller, you clearly do not see the entertainment value in anything and that is why you're a stupid newbie. Not to mention while you're trying to ride in here on your high horse, you're only fueling things. Had you not posted, I would've have taken the time to reply to you. You'll eventually catch on here and learn the ways of the technic forums. Either that or you'll be banished back to the hell that is MC Forums. I am quite helpful, if you bother to listen. W has not. You're still in that gray area of desperately finding validation here. You're post was stupid. No. Couldn't agree with this more.
  11. I already won, no point. His points aren't valid, they're stupid. I hate stupid. So should you. I am king of the internet. It's good to see other are finally jumping on board with it; however, it probably won't last much longer as this is no longer entertaining. It's only fun when the bug you're sticking keeps wiggling around and I think he's finally just conceded and has accepted that he is a failure of all things man. He is probably trying to figure out the least efficient way to off himself at this point and unless he posts about it there is nothing I can do to save him. I only say this because taking your own life is a poor decision and he seems to revel in making poor decisions. It's clearly the logical outcome here.
  12. I understand the general principle and what I'm getting at is that it's stupid, or he's stupid, or he's got a small wang and that other guys wang is bigger. I don't know, I just haven't ever seen someone work against being efficient, unless they've got a touch of the downs and just don't understand. I can live with that, but he's clearly... well, he's questionably intelligent and although there is a doubt, I'm giving him the benefit of being intelligent. It's not hard to figure out and you don't need a server bogged down with a bunch of LV solar panels. I call it math, simple math at that. You want to know what the footprint of one HV array is? Ok. Let's do math! 8 solar panels + 1 LV Transformer = 1 LV Array. 8 LV Arrays + 1 MV Transformer = 1 MV Array. (8lv = 1mv) 8 MV Arrays + 1 HV Transformer = 1 HV Array. ((8lv * 8 = 64lv = 8mv = 1hv) We're just looking at the following 8^x equation, starting with x being 0. Totals: 1HV Array = 8 MV arrays or 64 LV arrays or 512 Solar Panels So you can just put in your head that when you see an HV solar array, you're really looking at a 8x8 block of LV arrays, or approximately 12 LV solar flowers with a couple extra depending on the setup. Because these arrays do not provide any bonus and you end up actually using up more materials initially (cost of the transformers per array), there is no need to run this real time on a server, unless you want to see how bad you lag out your server. So either a stress test wasn't done prior to server setup, or W is lazy. Either way, stupid. This whole 'experiment' or whatever is pointless. Either that, or W just has a inferiority complex because his Nuke reactors are being dwarfed by a single cube. Guess what, that's called being an efficient motherfucker. Either learn from what others have done, or stick your head in the sand and prepare to hear muffled laughter.
  13. Coming from the guy who's disabling blocks for no reason. What? You just wanted to disable these blocks. Now it's just in a small area? Throughout this entire thread, you haven't mentioned just in a small area. So if you mentioned it previously and I didn't notice it, that's my bad. With that said, you're not preventing ANYTHING remotely related to mass EU production. If there is one theme in this entire thread, it's that you have no idea how these panels work. They don't give bonuses when you compact them. They put out the equal amount of energy it requires to make them, so you're not preventing anything other than potentially creating unnecessary lag on your server. That's what makes you a selfish idiot. You have the chance to proactively reduce lag on your server and instead you're willing to continue to be stubborn about something you feel will create massive EU farming. Well shit son, that can happen with a buttload of LV's or normal solars. It's the lack of planning by a server owner/op that makes you a selfish idiot. Or maybe that's wrong. Maybe you're just a stubborn ass, or to quote Gordon Ramsey, a donkey. So there's an entire server full of morons who flunked out of simple arithmetic? Classy. Says the guy who created this thread. I'm not going to stop until you learn that what you're doing is dumb, or stop posting.
  14. Yes. Because you don't have the foresight to understand that if people want mass amounts of solar, they will build mass amounts of solar. Right now you're only saving grace is that you're allowing for LV arrays. However, you're going to see that people will still want a massive amount of power derived from solar energy. For example lets say half of your pop gets to the point where they want 25 LV arrays to generate power for their various machines. 25 arrays multiplied by, oh, let's assume your population is 20, so that's just 10 people. That's 250 LV arrays right there spread across your server. By enabling MV/HV arrays, they can compact that number down and still produce the SAME AMOUNT OF ENERGY. Let's do some math. 8 LV Arrays + 1 MV Transformer = 1 MV Solar Array. 8 goes into 25 3 times, leaving us with a remainder of 1. We've effectively reduced the amount of solar panels from 25 to 4, or if you take the total population, 250 to 40. As the draw increases per person, that number may be reduced even further to where people just have 1 HV array to power their various things. So yeah, you're an idiot. Not only are you an idiot, but you're a selfish one. Just because you don't like something, you're willing to punish the patrons of your server. I mean, at least I can understand the argument between whether or not to nerf EE. There is some logic behind it; however, despite people telling you that it would benefit you NOT to do this, you're just being a headstrong moron because you don't like them. I changed my mind. When your server blows up and the people leave, just go curl up in the corner of the internet somewhere, where the rest of the idiots go. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/"]This is a great place for idiots. Enjoy!
  15. You brought it up, so if anyone is going to eat a dick about this, it's going to be you. SCT has a valid point. If you're going to limit the amount of power someone can derive from solar power, or rather limit their ability to be more efficient in space consumption and overall lag in the world, then make sure you add "I'm a real big idiot and when the server lags, it's because I didn't listen to someone who's been running a Tekkit server and can forsee the folly of disallowing the ability to pack up 8 panels for 1, giving relief to the server hardware and everyone who logs in and plays on it." Glad you found something that works. Eventually you'll re enable them. When you do, please come back and apologize for wasting everyone's time.
  16. But the case would never go anywhere. Because they had knowledge that their game was being modded and did nothing. If it was such a big deal, they should've done it right out of the gate and they didn't. Words only go so far, but inaction with knowledge usually will trump it. Keyword: Knowledge. Also, toilet paper.
  17. I could install the mods myself. I really could. But the Technic team does it better and a lot quicker than if I were going to do it myself. They rock the cock for so many reasons, but quite frankly I'm tired of repeating myself.
  18. So, is nearbygamer the new scapegoat for everyone to pick on now? There is always going to be someone saying negative things about technic, trashing the guys who work on it, badmouthing the whole premise behind technic, and overall just some nastiness towards the Technic crowd. What we need to do, as a community, is to let this roll of our shoulders instead of creating a thread about every goddamn person who does something negative towards it. Whether it's someone who's insane and spouts rabble, creates code so their mod will assplode if it detects technic, or claims shenanigans with launcher code. Who gives a shit. When you make a thread about it, even if the facade is intellectual (because it always turns into a "let's shit on this guy" thread no matter how it starts) the terrorists win. Do you want the terrorists to win? Then you just masturbated and killed a kitten. Way to go. Also, buttons.
  19. With the new amount of item ID's you've got, is the Aether a possibility? Or is that just crazy talk?
  20. Beer

    help with taint

You might want to check to see if there is a cave beneath with taint. That would cause the spread to reach the surface.
  21. So, should we steer this conversation back to Technic just to mess with Kaker? Or, are we good with where this is going?
  22. Granted. But jesus it's really annoying.
  23. Snaps are just another way of saying, "Yes, we do have ADD. Why do you ask? Hey, now that's a great idea! SWEATERS FOR EVERYONE! Next snapshot!"
  24. Re: Notch has an..................interesting sense of humor This post has grown exponentially.
  25. Are... you special? I mean, do you need some kind of special helmet to provide extra protection when you fall down due to balance issues stemming from what might be wrong in the upstairs region? Listen. You... hold on. My brain is starting to crumble from the pressure. Ok. I think, I've got it. You don't need to backdate anything because the launcher should do it all for you. There. PHEW. So yeah. Just make sure that your server and your client are running the same Tekkit version and everything should work out in the end. Slather it with a nice thick later of barbecue sauce and let it sit in the oven at 450 for about 10 minutes. Go ahead and pull it out and you should have a delicious Tekkit server just ready to serve your guests. They'll rave over your skill in the kitchen and devour YOUR IMMORTAL SOUL. In other news, we're expecting rain off the coast of Brazil while the European valley is expected sunshine throughout the day. SCT, back to you.
