    PvP Tips

You're asking for pvp help in a game with possibly the worst combat mechanics ever, what are you expecting us to tell you? Either get a bigger sword or click faster.
  3. ... u didn't try very hard no need to be so lazy jesus christ people these days -.-
  4. If you want it, put it in yourself. Simple as that.
  5. The only reason it is called "lite" is because it doesn't have ready to go bukkit support. From what I understand it is essentially the full pack minus that detail.
  6. Well if you remove compact solars you can just keep trying to see what will work and what doesn't.
  7. Unfortunately I'm running low on time, (Finals rear their ugly head tomorrow), so I couldn't watch your entire video. From what I did see, it seems the 3 of you have pretty good group chemistry, and the original broken neck gag was actually pretty funny. Your own audio is pretty good, however there was some considerable noise pollution from your friends, that can be resolved though. The ever present black bars claim another victim, and again they detract from the experience. Try to either clear those up or fill them with something, they immediately draw the eyes away from the actual content. I only got about halfway through, but you seemed to lack any sort of goal/direction from what I saw, with your focus directed on wacky banter. While this can be good, it really needs to compliment your playthrough, and not the other way around. If the gameplay takes a back seat to the chatting, you may as well make a podcast and be done with it.
  8. I watched his latest VOD, and one thing that immediately stood out to me was the utter contrast between his backing music tracks and what/how he was building. Now I by no means dislike the type of music he was playing in the background, however the experience was slightly jarring to me. While I can see his music suiting perhaps a timelapse of him building whatever he chooses to do, with the live, precise, and steady speed that he built his ship, I would suggest a more minimalist approach to his music selection. The highly upbeat melodies of Dragonette and Martin Solveig makes the viewing experience quite strange.
  9. Wow, that's actually rather neat. As far as content goes, it would have been nice to not have the glaring minimap in the top right, and I'm unsure if there's a hide hotbar feature in Minecraft, but that would have been a welcome addition as well. Audio nicely compliments visuals, although it would have been clever if the audio was synced to the track sections. (Namely in the beginning when the snare drum is a focus of the song, would've been cool if the light colour boxes passed in time with the beat) Production values, black bars are the bane of all videos. They are immediately noticeable, and detract significantly from the experience. The gameplay seems smooth enough with her current recording setup, so I'd try recording in 16:9 and maximizing the visual emphasis, which is really the core of the video. A good failsafe with black bars is to fill them with information/images, possibly album cover of song, band info, etc. The overall effect was pretty cool, and I can't say I've seen any Technic/Tekkit videos like it. Certainly took some creativity, and I'd be interested in seeing more builds like this in the future if some of the production methods can be improved.
  10. Nothing looks worse than black bars, try to record in an aspect ratio that is appropriate. If you absolutely can't avoid them, at the very least include some sort of border/filler for those spaces, make it look decent. You speak clear as crystal, which is very important/noticeable in a medium such as lets-plays. Your audio track may also be just a bit on the loud side. As far as content is concerned, I understand that this was your first episode of a user-submitted ideas show, and as such may not be representative of the final product, but I'd really try to be selective with your ideas to display. You say you're knowledgeable about Tekkit, well prove it to us. Challenge yourself with the build ideas you select, I think it will make your builds more meaningful if we can see that it took you time and effort to solve a problem in a uniquely "Tekkit" way.
  11. Well first things first I'd suggest you don't pan your audio to the left channel only (don't know what part of that seemed like a good idea). Your speaking style is also very, very lifeless. We need to see that you're excited to be doing what you're doing. You're speaking much too quietly and mumbling into my left ear, making me have no desire to tag along on your adventure. This is a total killer for me, I can't watch something if I literally can't hear/understand the speaker.
  12. Fuck me, can't you hold it together for one god damn thread freakachu? Meanwhile, I feel that the return from collectors was too large for such a relatively low cost and time investment. OP gave the example of solar panels, however the number of solar panels required to produce materials on the same scale as a single collector/relay flower was radically higher. *Changed to past tense since collectors are no longer an issue.
  13. I'm on the fence about an SSD, at this point I'm not considering it a priority upgrade. I missed the boat on your specific card, but there's another 560ti on sale for roughly the same price that I'm going to grab. The maximum on my power supply is 600 watt, so I should be fine for a 560.
  14. Brand new technic world w/ fast graphics w/ far render distance I'm looking at about 38FPS. My main technic world with one quarry nearby and quite a long BD pipe system about 34FPS. Both done standing still, in practice I've been experiencing some major frame drops at odd intervals, haven't bothered troubleshooting that yet.
  15. I'm certainly not a person who lives and breaths for maxed out graphical fidelity, but I'd be happy to be able to run most games in 1080 with "medium-ish" settings without the drops that I currently experience. It's not the looks that frustrate me, it's when the actual playing experience is being noticeably restricted.
  16. That was the direction I was leaning, I certainly don't have any problems with the hardware other then the GPU, and I've been planning on grabbing 8Gb since purchase.
  17. Well now I feel like a spoiled child complaining his new toy isn't shiny enough. Although I feel that my god-forsaken connection may even the score between our setups. Edit: On second thought, you win.
  18. With my internet being in the sorry state that it is, I'd like my singleplayer gaming experience to be a bit sharper than what my hardware can currently bring to the table. As of now, I'm looking to at the very least outgrow my Radeon 6670 to something with a bit more kick, and I'm prepared to upgrade whatever would be required for the new GPU. I'm looking at the 560ti because I've heard decent things about it and it's at a decent price right now. I'll post my main specs below, and would appreciate some advice on priority upgrades. My (ideal) price range is from $250 to a max of $400. Motherboard : Asus M4N68T-M-V2 RAM : 4Gb GPU : Radeon 6670 CPU : AMD Phenom II X4 965 Cheers for any advice, I'm hoping to see more than 15 frames in the Skyrim opening on max settings.
  19. Quick disclaimer, I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to running a server, but I hear IP banning is a thing. Again, talking out of my ass, but I'm inclined to believe that would solve your problem unless he has a dynamic IP.
  20. I considered it being a modem problem, but at this point I'm just going to switch ISPs considering AT&T refuses to acknowledge that anything is wrong with the connection and they're still charging me for the 3 Mb/s I'm supposed to be getting. I'm about ready to lay the damn Comcast cable myself.
  21. Finally, someone else who suffers of <=1Mb/s, terribly intermittent AT&T connection. I don't know about OP, but I'm on a wired connection to modem + ISP, and I've had this problem for too long for me to suspect weather. At the time of posting this, speedtest.net shows a BLISTERING down speed of 0.45 Mb/s
  22. You're saying that people are having stupid arguments about free modpacks to enhance their playing experience? Its not even worth considering, just a bunch of people who think their opinion is the one and only correct view. As far as AMCO goes, that was my modpack of choice before I picked up Technic, and my general opinion of it is that its a lot larger than it needs to be. I always felt that the majority of the mods that were included had little or no role on my actually gameplay experience.
  23. But. . . but. . . they all told me to "Click Here For Your Download!!!!" and there was a great big green button!
  24. If my internet was up to snuff, I'd just get all my media needs from streaming services like Hulu and Netflix. Typical dish/cable companies are getting outdated pretty quickly when they charge you for hundreds of channels that you'll never touch (Although I hear Comcast on-demand is half decent, does anyone know if they offer a package which includes only that service?)
  25. I really hope this thread doesn't just fade into obscurity. It deserves more than that.
