Problems installing Optifine 1.6.4 into a modpack.
djdisturbed replied to a topic in Platform Pagoda
look here for modded version of c8 that works (working great for me on all 1.6.4 modpacks) http://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/1t0y67/works_direwolf20_164_pack_optifine_issue_fix/ there are issues with regular optifine and some of the mods changing some of the same things, this fixes that -
working on my server fine, I use it and worldguard w/ the client side worldeditCUI and works perfectly, though worldedit does not recognize all the blocks in all the mods in tekkit, but the main stuff works

No Villages, weather, mineshafts...?
djdisturbed replied to [L]'s topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
well, It took me a while untill i found a village and even it was not that good of one. Finally 3 weeks after I started my server did we find 2 good villages in the same day with a total of 5 villages found on the map so far (and this is how large of an area we have been in http://216.172.101.194:8122/ ) -
cannot allocate more then 1.5gb RAM
djdisturbed replied to fojaxx's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Well I found that if i set the memory in the app options, it does not work (set mine for 8gb and it sets it for 1.5 in game. I had to go in and change it in one of the files. but if i go into the options and change it there after that, i have to change it again in that file. I can't rmember the name of the file off the top of my head, but I did find how to do it in a search of the forum (and i run a 64bit os) -

A bug in the nether or is this normal?
djdisturbed replied to Griponyourthroat's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
you should really play Technic when doing single player. From what everyone has told me tekkit as issues/bugs in single player -
which file(s) are needed and how do we use them......

if you google it (or even search the forum, thats how I found it), you will find info on how to do it

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME !!!

I dunno if you are bashing me, but I was not defending him, I was saying as a person with a LD (Dyslexia as a main one) I dont see how the op could post so poorly and claim its an LD, as for your position, untill you have dealt with a LD yourself, not just known freinds that have it, then don't bash people who have one. I have learned to overcome mine for the most part to make my point clearly in a post, but I do have issues in spelling even the simplest words sometimes w/out even realizing it, or mixing up numbers and forgetting things quickly that I try to remember. Until you have walked in the persons shoes, don't judge them. When I was growing up they didn't really know what Dyslexia was or how to deal with it and as I got older it became harder to change, now I'm prob older then allot on this forum, not some young kid that can find help at school b/c school is LONG behind me. -

as a person with a learning disability, I'm even dumbfounded by the grammar by the OP......... -
on my server, the hosting company (kbg servers) uses Multicraft, I have to rename mine to craftbukkit.jar for it to work when I update it, I also have to make sure that craftbukkit is selected in the " JAR File" pulldown menu on the main server hosting screen

Well, I tried running core protect on my server for a while, worked well untill I started to get server crashing errors due to coreprotect. I started a ticket for the issues w/ a log of the errors i kept getting on the bukkit site for coreprotect. plugin works great when it worked..... but when it started getting errors is was awful. even uninstalled deleteated prefs and data for core protect serveral times and errors kept coming back after reinstall.

the thing about taking this to court for "defamation" is where are the damages? You have to prove that there are damages that amount to a monetary amount to get any money. Where has this caused this person to lose money in some way? Until this person posted it on youtube, no one would know who this person was in real life. Did this cause the person to lose their job? Or keep them from getting a job? ..... no.... so where are the damages? How do I know this? well, this came up on a radio talk show that a lawyer host just 3 days ago. Someone was asking advice about taking someone to court for defamation, and that is exactly what he told the person, that the person didn't have a case, and would just be waisting his own money on the case b/c there are no provable direct damages. A screen name on a online forum is just that, a screen name, it could be anyone in the world using that screen name, and until that person using that screenname comes out in real life and says it was them you don't know who they are, but by coming out and saying hey that was me, then you have caused whatever damages to yourself b/c b4 that point it was anom. and to the person who this is about, not everyone on here is some little kid. I myself am the in the over 30 crowd, and I know how to act mature about things like this and just to learn my lesson and laugh about it. But I guess thats shows my maturity level compared to some people.

i dont use skype, the server has its own mumble server, though we are not on it much b/c a few of the guys dont have pc headsets so we chat on xbox live while doing things on the server, but i typically have both running. the server has been a little dead in the past 2 weeks though do to people being out of town for end of summer vacations -
I still am a newb, but I learn quickly, and running my own 20 slot server has forced me to learn quickly. I don't know how to use allot of things, but i make use of google to figure it out, and what i read in the forums that is already posted. My server host (KBGservers) suggested Tekkit b/c of the mods me and my friends wanted to use and it has been fun learning how diff things work and finding new/better ways to wire things I have made in vanilla MC w/ large circuits.

I will be opening up my 20 slot server up soon for other to join, right now it's just a few friends on the server while we build up a few towns and stuff. PVE server w/ some grief protection, we are building things for everyone to use (like a large scale auto item sorting thing that can sort/store over 2 million items -
new mod ideas for next tekkit update.
djdisturbed replied to keyblade522's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
have they been ported to bukkit? they have to be ported to bukkit from what I have read b4 they can be considered for tekkit. at least thats what i read in the past here in the forum about mods, i could be wrong -
Actually, there are 3 types, there are noobs, who keep asking the same questions b/c they are too stupid to figure it out the first few times. there are newbs who ask questions after the have tried to figure things out on there own and use the forums as a last resort, then there are squeakers, those are the one that are the spoiled brats, the ones who annoy you in voice chat and you cant tell if they are male, female, or justin bieber...

djdisturbed replied to fakemail123's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
same thing i was saying to do........ but in my case I would delete the " EE2ServerV1.4.6.5-bukkit-mcpc-1.2.5-r5.zip " from my mods folder if I wanted to delete it. -
Mod Select disabled in Tekkit 3.1.2?
djdisturbed replied to fakemail123's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
i was told by my server hosting tech guy just to take the mods I dont want to use out of the server mods folder and it would disable them. Sounds just as easy as doing in the cfg file...... -
Caspertheghost's Mac Launcher gone?
djdisturbed replied to Blackbook's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
but being a DJ, most DJ use mac laptops w/ serato b/c they are less likely to crash during a performance (most dj's dont know how to properly set up a computer for stability, and macs a very stable for this) yeah they can get a little exp. but when you are using them for something like I do, its worth it, been using apple/macs for over 20 years myself, first computer was an apple IIgs, meaning im not a "OMG, MaCs ArE AwSomE B/c ThEy ArE SOOOOOOOOO StYlEiSh AnD All ThE CoOOl pEEps UsE ThEm!!!!11!!11!!" type person -
Good Tekkit server hosting sites.
djdisturbed replied to MirelurkCakes's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
i have been using KBG Servers, killerbeez is great and he will help you every step of the way to set up your server to get it running (other then setting up perms and config settings of mods, thats up to you). Been using kbg server for a few months now and runs tekkit well. full ftp access and full mod support at no extra charge. In fact he was the one to suggest tekkit for server when i was telling him what mods i wanted to run on the server. http://www.kbgservers.com/
