1. EDIT: FIXED IT So I just came back to technic after like 6 months for the launch of tekkit(new) Downloaded the latest launcher today. I can launch all the other mod packs except the new one. Any suggestions? 2. Hey guys. I've been away for quite a while. I'm having trouble adding back optifine to use on the latest technic 7.5.2 Not sure if i should be using a specific version of optifine and if i should be installing to the minecraft.jar or the modpack.jar and if I should be deleting the meta-inf or not. I followed the link http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/manually-installing-optifine.14981/ but that page is from months ago and doesn't seem to quite work with 7.5 Never mind. Found a relevant post elsewhere. I've been away so long I forgot to not be a moron >_<
3. Ok, if you got another conflict after fixing that one, you either set it to something that was already occupied, or there was another conflict 'pending' that it did not get to until you cleared the first. Either way, keep changing the conflits to FREE id's till it works. If you are getting conflicts on your tekkit server you most likely changed something. It should not do that on a fresh server. Your best bet is just back up your world. delete all the server files and install fresh.
4. It's pretty self explanatory "Slot 178 is already occupied by ee.BlockEETorch" you have an block ID conflict. go into enderchest mod config on your server and change the ID to a free block you might have to also change it on your tekkit client for anyone who plays on your server
5. Instead of asking for a delete, (they don't delete topics) you could tell us what you did wrong, and how you fixed it. There may be other people who are having the same/similar issue.
6. Did you use the bukkit version?
7. Well, not entirely sure but I'm guessing you would need to install it in the server folder... that's not in the appdata folder at all. it's just where ever you place it if you are running the server on your local PC. Then i don't know if that mods requires a matching client mod for smp.
8. I had installed the cars and tanks mods a few months ago on a previous version of tekkit. Honestly it's just not worth it. The vehicles were constantly floating away and clipping the terrain. Just not worth the pain in the ass.
9. Um... What? >_>... I think I'll just walk away now
10. How's it going all, I've been away some time taking a break from technic. Finally convinced my wife to start playing minecraft. Well, I didn't convince her so much, but it's a long story >_<. Anyways, I was wondering if there is some specific way of adding other mods to technic that I'm not aware of. I wouldn't really consider this a bug so I didn't catch the error reports, it's more of an open question about mods. So what I had tried to do was to install worlddownloader onto my tekkit client. I had installed it on vanilla no problem. The reason I did is, there was a bit of a falling out on the server my wife plays on, and she'd fell really shitty to lose all the hard work she put in building her little houses. So I went ahead and copied out our corner of that world. So after that, I decided to install that mod onto my tekkit client to see about maybe getting some backups of my stuff on tekkit servers. The problem I ran into was that adding any .class files to the different .jar files of tekkit always caused the launcher to detect a change then redownload a fresh copy. I had also wanted to add portal gun mod for a tekkit server i was moving our stuff to, but I'm guessing I might run into the same issue. So basically, is adding mods that add .class files impossible, or am I just doing it wrong?
11. I have the same problem on my machine that none of my minecraft will work online with Java 7. Not plain old vanilla launcher. Not the technic launcher. Not my tekkit server. None of them will connect to any external IP. Brand new windows 7 install with fresh Java 7 64 bit. I've need using only Java 6 and I removed advanced machines from my server because Java 7 just will not play well. Idk if its a firewall issue or avast. But I tried it before those things and still nothing. Really no clue as to why Java 7 just does not like my machine. Think there is any chance I can get Java tech support to figure out the problem?
12. Awsome that's exactly what i need. Now, how exctly do i make java 6 the default? under user it lists both 6 and 7 but under system it only lists 7... also.. i'm not sure but i think even the server itself can't connect to online with java7. right now i'm just using the server without advanced machines and it works fine with java6
13. Ok, so. I just come back after what seems like a lifetime of shit .... Anyways I completely reinstalled windows to try to get this to work. Basically the problem is, when I install Java7, My technic client shits the bed. It cannot connect to any network so the launcher thinks i'm offline. The server seems to mostly work but i cant get a client up. So if i remove java7 and go back to 6, then it will work again. but then i can't run a server anymore. I know it's been mentioned to mess with the java setting but all you can do there is turn off an entire version, that doesn't let you specify specifically what program uses what java version. I also tried making a .bat file to launch technic-launcher.jar but I don't really know how to write the batch file properly and I'm just getting crazy errors about not finding class and stuff like that. BTW java7 seems to break all my minecraft installs. Even the basic launcher with vanilla can't get online anymore... So pissed >_<
14. Hate to bump or double post but this dropped to page 2 and an edit wasn't gonna bring it back. Anyways, I went back, removed all old editions of java. reinstalled java7 64 bit, and tried the launcher again. It it still not working with java7. Same error about can't connect to minecraft and the tumble feed being down. here's a bit of the log file from my last attempt. xiting the Technic Launcher [17:30:55] [sEVERE] ------------------------------------------ [17:30:55] [sEVERE] Launcher is starting.... 15. Launcher Ver Latest OS Win7 64bit Java Ver 7 latest 64bit Problem:Hey all. So I followed the advice from the sticky above to install java7 to fix the unsupported major.minor error in my server. So after the install, the server was fine. but then any time i loaded the technic launcher, or even the vanilla launcher, neither one could make any network connections. The technic launcher would say that the technic tubler is down (where it usually says 'good evening player') and the log in would say 'couldn't connect to minecraft.net'. The vanilla launcher would not show the news and also couldn't connect to log in. I now removed java7 completely and updated java6 to patch 31 (i was at 29 before). So now vanilla and technic launcher work, but the server is back to the major.minor error. The pastebin below is after i removed 1.7 so not sure if the relevent info is there. if needed i can put back java7 and try it again so i can get a better log. otherwise if there is something specific i can do to get the launchers using java6 only. I couldn't quite get it do that from the java control panel. Pastebin http://pastebin.com/Atmz1wEj EDIT: the guys over at #minecrafthelp suggested I need to remove Java 6 then update to Java 7. Sounds reasonable so I'll try that in a bit. If that fixes it I' update this post. For now i'm putting the baby to sleep. I'll take any additional suggestions in the mean time :-)
16. That's just a block ID conflict. Your block IDs will have to match the server so changing them randomly is not a good option. Just try playing with the launcher settings. something will set it right. Try changing to different builds, clear the cache... stuff like that. if all else fails, delete the entire .techniclauncher and install fresh (back up your saves first, obviously!)
17. Well you don't need to sign your post. We know who you are, it's RIGHT THERE to the left of your post. Also its against the rules As for your problem you probably need to install Java 64 bit. Or set the path variable. Google that for step by step instructions
18. Right, I was on my cell posting that and this now. The advice still applies. I think someone else suggested a fix of changing the GUI IDs. Its almost the same issue I had in 2.0 with the tunnel bore. Is it possible some bug is causing certain GUI IDs to be changed in certain installs? The problem seems to affect random people.
19. Check the config files for ic2 and BC. One of the GUI ID settings must be overlapping.
20. You should not be allowed near a computer.. anywhere.... ever.
21. Re: worldupdater 1.1 *****EDIT****** As you were, Look at the sticky topic "midasgold" above. Read that post and see if they have any advice for you. I'm on a fresh 2.0 so I have no experience with that
22. It's probably the same problem I had with the Tunnel Bore. Check the config files on your server/client. Make sure the GUI id for the chest cart is the same as the entity ID.
23. Well, first you need to run TEKKIT from the launcher. NOT TECHNIC. As noted above. That will let you actually log on to your server . Now as for flans planes...... that's tricky. I managed to install flans vehicles on mine. Now I'm on my phone at the moment so I'll edit this post in a little while to explain how I did it. For now Ill just say that it was not very stable and I decided it was not worth it. I removed the mods and went on without them. Namely, the cars would get stuck in the landscape constantly and kill me. Often losing the car but not always. I'd have to spend hours building roads for it to be safe to use the cars. At that rate I might as well give in and learn to love railcraft. It'll be up to you if its even worth trying to use that mod. Expect an update on how to install within an hour. EDIT: Ok so here's how I installed it. First go to the minecraft forums. Follow in instructions to install the mod on your client. Now, planes install is a bit different from vehicles. The post says you have to install it first before modloader and other stuff. That's probably not an option. Ok, so install the planes mod, then install turbo model thingy on the client. Ok by the way. When you install the client mods. You'll have to install it twice on the client. You'll have to install the class files into minecraft.jar and also modpack.jar. Ok now on the mod forum post, look for where flan links to some forum that does bukkit ports. Search thru the first couple pages for the planes bukkit port. Now you'll install the server files on to the tekkit.jar. The server ZIP should have a folder net/minecraft/server then the files. they need to be in the tekkit.jar in these same folders. After that, I installed turbo model thing on the server as well, just to be on the safe side. After that, Give it a try. It may take a bit a work. So good luck
24. I haven't tried it in Tekkit either, so not sure if it's broken but here's the gist of how to use it. Set it down somewhere. Then using buildcraft pipes, pump water into the strainer on a SIDE (not top or bottom). Place another pipe on the opposite side to allow oil to continue out. Then place a cable on another side perpendicular to the pipes. Feed this cable to a batbox or other EU storage. It takes a certain amount of time for the strainer to "cook" one bucket of water into energy so it may slow down your pumping proccess. You can also apply a redstone current to strainer to cause the device to simply destroy the water and not generate EU. If I remember correctly, The device may cease to 'cook' water if there is no cable or space left in the battbox to receive the EU. In other words, if it's internal EU buffer is full, it cannot proccess more water. In this case a redstone current should allow it to continue. Let me know if that works out for you. I"ll probably set one up on my server later if I have time and mats
25. EDIT: In another post kaker explains that the creative interface does not work at all with tekkit. Please use NEI. Its not that bad . Not sure but I think you need to be OP to use creative mode. Are you set to OP? Also, many mods don't play well in creative mode. I think if u use the item subsets in game to disable the blocks that take up too much space, the NEI seems much easier to use. Just pull down the subsets menu, go to redpower and rightclick on microblocks to hide them all. that alone is like half the pages. Removing all the redalloy cables is quite a bit as well. Don't see how the creative mode is any better organised.
