  1. I felt the same way about copper. After hours of mining and roughly 20 diamonds later, I had about 10. Had to go the the surface and search for shallow caves to get copper. Was a right pain in the ass.
  2. It's a shit mod, from a shit author. As SemiPr0 so eloquently put it; If the Technic team feel it isn't worthy of their pack, well, that's good enough for me.
  3. IGN: heikujin Age: 28 Skype(optional): Tekkit experience(1-10): 6(Still learning the more advanced stuff) Time Zone: EST How much time do you plan on playing per day? 1-4 hours most days The build you are most proud of? To be honest I've never really sat down and built any grand structures of significant importance. I typically keep it simple and focus on the exploration and RPG elements Minecraft/Tekkit has to offer. Why do you think our server is right for you? It is my hope that you guys keep a tight knit group here free of douchers and griefers. I've seen so many servers claim to be grief-free with 5434 anti-grief plugins installed and yet, grief still runs rampant. I believe true "anti-grief" lies within the selection process. If you've got a group of folks all working towards the same goal everyone will get along.
  4. In game name: Heikujin Age: 28 Location: Atlanta, Georgia Minecraft experience to date: Been playing Minecraft since Alpha, and Tekkit for about a year now. Why do you want to play on our server? Seems like a mature no-nonsense server. I've been searching around for a good home to flex my creative muscles and this server seems to fit the bill. While I don't claim to be a Tekkit expert I can offer what I do know to new-comers, and continue to expand my Tekkit knowledge from some of the "vets" that may call this server their home.
  5. As printimus said, you need to create an Energy Link and place it next to the quarry first. It will transfer IC power into BC power for the quarry to use.

  7. I think it would be safe to say that you could allocate 5 people per 1.5 GBs of ram. So, for 4 GB's I would say you could run 10-13 people per server safely. Another thing you need to take into account is what mods you're going to leave enabled and plugins you plan on using. If you've got people running BC pipes all over the place and plopping down world anchors those numbers will change drastically.
  8. InGameName: heikujin About me: I'm a 28 year old Automotive Technician. When I'm not working on cars I'm either playing the guitar or video games(mainly Minecraft). I've just recently starting tinkering with Tekkit and have a dedicated server setup for close friends to play on. Lately no one has been on and it's starting to get a bit lonely. Location: Atlanta, Ga Why Tekkitia?: As stated above I'm usually the only one on my current server and it's getting a bit lonely. As I'm relatively new to Tekkit I'm sick of hopping on a server just to get slaughtered or have my hard work griefed to hell and back. Looking for a mature, chill server to express the creativity bottled up inside me. Do you understand troublemaking/rule-breaking/griefing will get you banned/removed? Yes.
  9. This is the way they should be handled. If you can surmise that a thread will not contain quality content just from the title and that you're more than likely going to post something out of anger, then just skip it all together. I don't understand why people get so worked up about these types of posts. You've seen them before, you know they aren't going to stop, so why even bother venturing forth? I know I may seem a bit hypocritical for posting here, but I actually enjoy helping people and have the ability to be constructive without being rude. If it's getting everyone's panties in such a wad, couldn't the moderators screen these types of posts and answer/lock them before things get heated?
  10. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You call me a moron for assuming you're a douche bag without knowing you yet you call me, and everyone who disagrees with you, an idiot without knowing them. You say you've lost faith in humanity and that the world has turned you into an asshole. Seeing as you're ONLY 17 you've got a looong and hard road ahead of you. You've got a lot to learn about life if you think it's morally sound to be an asshole. It's one thing to be an asshole without realizing it. At least then you can figure out what you're doing wrong and realize how terribly you're treating people. I know it may be hard to understand, but the world doesn't get better with a bunch of bitter assholes sitting around complaining how everything's gone to shit. The world is changed by compassionate visionaries willing to make the sacrifices needed to make a difference.
  11. Name: heikujin Age: 28 Do you wish to join Anyon (starting town): Yes. Have you played IC2 or buildcraft? Been tinkering with it for the past couple months. what is the purpose of a macerator? Grinds a single ore into 2 dust. Recommendations(if you been invited): None. Others things i should know: I'm an awesome person looking to hang with awesome people playing an awesome game.
  12. You don't remember which version you downloaded? Other than the original filename, I have no idea how to determine which version you have. Edit: Look in your downloads folder to see if you still have the downloaded Tekkit zip in there.
  13. You change the client Tekkit version in the Technic launcher. Click on options, click the "manual build selection" bullet, and select the version from the drop down menu that matches your server version.
  14. Nah, I pay around $20 a month for a dedicated VPS. You can host a server of your machine of course, and that doesn't cost you a dime. However, it's limited to your internet and PC capabilities. If you're just wanting something for you and a few friends to mess around on it's the way to go. If you want something a bit more reliable, stable, and permanent, you'll need to pay for a dedicated VPS. It's worth it for me because I always know the server is going to be up and it's not using my resources. If hosting a server of your computer is something you're interested in I can guide you through the steps. It's really easy.
  15. If you're looking for a server just to run Tekkit a VPS is more than enough. There are a lot of Minecraft-specific hosts out there to choose from so you wouldn't need any software. Just upload the .jar and they take care of the rest. I'm currently using creeperhost.net atm and have been satisfied with them so far.
