  1. So here's the real question then. Why didn't Notch use a real lightning engine like openGL instead of making a crappy simulation of it? Oh wait, this is Notch we're talking about, and everyone knows he has to go out of his way to do things as bass-ackwards as possible.

  4. okay, try this. Make sure to make a back up before you start. Reinstall technic (so you have all the mods) Find the config file for the teleport pipes Change the block ids for teleport pipes to something else (preferably something not used by another mod already) Open your world The teleport pipes should have either disappeared or changed into another block. * The next steps are optional, but they are advised. If they have changed into new blocks, remove those blocks. If you have removed all the blocks, reset the teleport pipes config file (this is doe bu deleong it and relaunching technic) If they have disappeared, try placing blocks where they were. If you can, reset the config file. Open your world. * It should be fixed. lines with a * after them designate places you should make a backup.

  6. Okay, the folder you need to delete should be called buildcraft-client-DA-additionalpipes-3.1.0.zip As for fixing teleport pipes, I suggest you just use enderchests instead, as they also work across dimensions.

  9. Yeah, I figured that having free lightning for 10 minutes was too OP. It does decrease mana requirements to cast air spells though. Even Thor's Hammer can't call down lightning for free, even though it is an artifact that can only be found in dungeons or as an incredibly rare drop from mobs. I've learned from Pahimar's example that free stuff is almost always a bad idea.

  13. Emphasis mine. Where the hell have you been? There are a ton of mods not updated for 1.3 yet. Too name just a few, there's Thaumcraft, Equivalent Exchange, and Red Power. Not a single one of those mods, as well as dozens of others, has updated to 1.3 yet.

  15. Derp. I'm silly. I forgot that MCP doesn't rely on Minecraft code. It's a decompiler, not an API. I forgot.
  16. Okay, here's what you need to do. First, make a backup of the current save, just in case we need it. Then, remove the the teleport pipes mod from technic Launch technic. If it tells you to update ignore it. Open your world. The teleport pipes should now have become random blocks. Remove the blocks that have replaced the teleport pipes. Make a back up of the new world. Reinstall technic. Open the new map. It should be the same as the original, minus the teleport pipes.

  19. You can't. Unless you have a backup of your world from before you placed the teleport pipe, you're screwed. Don't delete the world save though, as I might think of a way to fix your problem. I need to go look into what happens when you remove a mod without removing it's blocks and items first...
  20. You'd lose that bet, as the Mod API has been pushed back indefinitely. Not "Pushed back another update" indefinitely, I mean "We can't even tell you when we are supposed to be done" indefinitely.

  22. The way it works is this. First, Minecraft updates. Then, MCP updates 1-2 weeks later. Then Forge updates 1-2 weeks after that. Then, the mods update 1-3 months after that. Then the modpacks update. And I don't know how long it takes to update the modpack, but I'm going to assume it takes between a week and a month.

  24. Wouldn't that make it hard to get in and out, as right clicking to open the door will open a furnace. It would also make it hard to interact with anything actually.
