the launcher is really all you need. you should be all set.

most likely it is a mod that is included in technic letting you know it is out of date, which is to be expected since technic and tekkit do not update as frequently as some of the mods they use. if it bothers you that much, you can manually update whichever mod is letting you know it's out dated.
