  1. I picked darkspore up on sale from steam a while ago. as long as my internet isn't disconnecting me randomly, I actually enjoy it. at the very least, it's a better ARPG than D3 (). a couple things to know, though: -it has an always on internet requirement. you can't play this game in any kind of offline mode. I have no idea why not but there it is. -it can be a bit grindtastic -just about every part you find looks hilarious when you put it on a character's crotch. just saying. overall I think it's a pretty decent game. even better if you have someone to play it with.
  2. your post is 4 sentences. I'm pretty sure you can post it in the right section yourself.
  3. this is entirely the wrong place for this.
  4. removed the pointless links. I'm gonna chalk that up to OP being stupid and not intentional SEO dick baggery. your friend should post a bug report with logs (very important) and an explanation of his "usual fixes". troubleshooting by proxy never works.
  5. haha I can see it now: "hey baby, I'm a nuclear engineer. how about we achieve some cold fusion?" "hey baby, I've got an impressive half-life, if you know what I mean" somehow, I don't see that kind of thing working out very well with most women.
  6. much better version
  7. and afterwards, you'd all have a nice healthy glow that's really noticeable in the dark. I hear being a human night light is a pretty sweet gig.
  8. guilty. the J stands for judging, it's what I do. you're welcome. speaking as someone who has actually worked for comcast as internet tech support, abusing the guy will get you absolutely nowhere. btw, AT&T has a 250gig cap on their U-verse service. however, I'm pretty sure they don't give you the boot if you use more than that. your only real hope is to pray that FIOS comes to your area. the termination thing has been a comcast policy for a few years now, it's just not exactly a well known one and also used to be hard to hit. if you're a netflix fiend, I can see you blowing that cap constantly nowadays though. don't expect comcast or AT&T to change though, netflix and such are basically in direct competition with them, they've got no reason to help them out. their answer is to use their TV/on demand movie services, which suck in comparison of course.
  9. sounds like you may not be getting the values you are expecting for x. put in a print statement after the if statement to determine that the event is a "key" event and have it print out the value of x. something like this: print("key pressed, value is: ") println(x) I totally forgot the string concatenation operator in lua, so I just made it two lines >_>
  10. that's rather surprising, to be honest. most any online game I can think of uses very little bandwidth. though I don't actually know if that's the case with minecraft, I think MC uses quite a bit. in general though, you'd be using more bandwidth to stream a youtube video than you would playing an online game, even WoW uses almost dial-up levels of data. that must be a LOT of gaming.
  11. hmm there would be a few games on that list: cyborg justice for the genesis. sidescrolling robot beat 'em up. you know a game's awesome when you can rip a dude's arm off, beat them to death with it, then replace your old arm with it. great fun 2 player too. beyond oasis for genesis. awesome action RPG game. lots of secrets and collectables too. the sequel on the saturn was also fun masters of magic and master of orion 2 on PC. they are not the same game, but they are the same genre and made by the same people. I spent probably hundreds of hours playing those games. I would stay up all night playing frequently. nights on saturn. I just really loved this game. my brothers didn't give a rip about it but I spent all kinds of time playing it just because it looked so awesome and was so enjoyable to play. and lastly, Ultima Online for the PC. my first real foray into MMOs and the game that got me hooked on the genre forever. I totally got some red dude killed by the guards once up at the penn and took that mother fucker's potted plant. the ultimate humiliation.
  12. I'll tell you what I'll be doing this coming saturday: GUILD WARS 2, BEEYYOOOOTTTCCCHHHHH! :w00t:
  13. comcast has had what I would call a "silent cap" for a few years now. it's rather ridiculous to have such caps, but most people never hit them so the ISPs can get away with it. I think that will begin to change as things like netflix get more and more popular, and people start wanting to stream or download things in 1080p. in any case, I'd start watching what I was downloading were I you. it's pretty easy to avoid that cap. even though I get pretty much all my games through steam or other online distribution type things and torrent the occasional HD video along with a lot of youtube vids, I manage to not hit the cap basically ever. that includes things like downloading guildwars 2 (a lot of gigs). basically, don't download things unless you're going to use them. downloading stuff "just because" is kinda pointless to begin with, anyway. it's even worse when you've got a bandwidth cap. Jay?, that must be a lot of games you two are buying per month. either that or you're redownloading/reinstalling them a lot.
  14. I haven't messed with computercraft in a while so I'm going to be a little light on specifics since I don't remember them. it shouldn't be hard to find the info on the wiki once you know what to look for anyway. making it toggle shouldn't be much harder than timed closing. once the password is accepted you can have it display a little message indicating which button to press to toggle the door, then use the pullevent function (I'm pretty sure you don't need pulleventraw) to wait for a key press. when it gets a key press, check to see if it was the correct key and set the redstone output to whatever it needs to be and use a variable to track the door's status. if the variable is true, then the door's open and it should be closed when the key is pressed. if it's false the door's closed and needs to be opened for example. you probably also want a second key setup to exit the toggle menu and go back to the password screen. hopefully that helps you out some.
  15. the problem is that you got bilge rats in your starboard bow. the solution is walking the plank. arrr!
  16. yes, we are.
  17. I know the OP is banned, but just in case anyone has similar sentiments I will address them anyway. the technic pack has really only ever been about the mods that kaker, cheapshot, icewolf, and more recently sct think are cool and enjoyable. it's not a democracy and you do not get a vote. at best you can try to bring a mod to their attention that they may have simply never heard of before. we aren't the only mod pack in town (we're the best though) either, feel free to try one of the other packs or make your own if technic isn't to your liking.
  18. if people have info they'll post it. if they don't, they won't and your thread will sink into oblivion. chances are, people just don't know. that doesn't mean "keep bumping until a mod notices and warns you a whole bunch", btw. there are no guarantees of assistance around here. you're getting what you paid for, i.e. nothing.
  19. sorry about your SSD, but I'm glad to hear that the case is closed. that is certainly a bizzare root cause. thanks for taking the time to let us know the outcome, I was quite curious.
  20. a RAT, or Remote Access/Administration Tool is a program that is designed to allow a remote user access to and control over the machine it's installed on. if you've ever dealt with tech support and they had you go install something or go to a certain web page so that they could see your screen and control your mouse remotely, you've seen a RAT. they have plenty of legit uses (go to my PC/log me in type services, remote tech support, etc). they also have plenty of nefarious uses, like taking over someone's PC to steal information or do other nasty things that you wouldn't want associated with your real IP or whatever.
  21. it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and looks like a duck. clearly, it's an alligator. that's my professional opinion, you can take it or leave it.
  22. there's a few ways to do this. the easiest would be to use the MFFS mod's reactor temperature control block (I forget the exact name, it's something like that). this will basically take care of shoving ice into your reactor for you so that it doesn't overheat. then pump in the full cells and such since you shouldn't be getting ice all up ins your uranium spots. to answer your direct question though, I don't know of a way to "swap out" items like that without any delay. I'm not sure it's doable with the mods in tekkit (or technic for that matter).
  23. yes it can work just fine. the thing to remember is that the ore/dust goes in the top, and comes out the sides. also, for the furnace, the fuel goes in the bottom. so you just have the chest, a transposer/filter pulling items out and sending them to the top of the macerator, another transposer/filter on the side of the macerator pulling items out and sending them to the top of the furnace, followed by yet another transposer/filter pulling items out of the side of the furnace and into the other chest.
  24. I did, actually. it pops up on my alerts because I posted in it early on. hilarious stuff in there, to be sure. I don't really have anything to add to it though besides "haha, that's funny" so I haven't posted in it recently.
  25. hahaha wow, this thread. seems I've missed out on all the good threads recently. missed out on the account hacker guy, this thread, a few other ones too. I am somewhat sad. curse you, work and real life for getting in my way! also, if it makes you feel better merchant, I got the reference.
