  1. I'm having a hard time making sense of this. You're saying that in Tinker's Construct, you crafted a Manyullyn pickaxe with Emerald, Diamond, Gold block/diamond, and moss ball, and the result was one of those broken crashy items? And then later on you made a Manyullyn hatchet with no additional enchantments and the result was one of those broken crashy items? But it doesn't happen always, just rarely? EDIT: Additionally, I need your crash log.
  2. I kept forgetting to make a thread like this, so now you get to be forums-famous. I'll leave this thread open for discussing the contents of the OP, but I'm gonna heavily infract anyone who just comes in here with random crash problems. Start your own thread for that stuff.
  3. Where do they have it? How do they get it?
  4. Sounds like your server is running vanilla because you didn't start it up right.
  5. There's a decent tekkit update coming: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/lets-test-tekkit-1-1-1.46753/ That's no secret, though, so what could this be?!
  6. - I need detailed steps to make the dupe bug happen, because I can't seem to make it happen myself. - With this crash, bukkit is crashing trying to build the crash report, so we can't see the "real" error causing the crash. Makes it hard to figure out what's up.
  7. You can also just flat turn off vanilla ore replacement in CoFHCore configs to reactivate ordinary vanilla ore gen. I believe you can remove the thermex section entirely and on next run it will regenerate the thermex section with default values. You can return the custom ores to their defaults by removing an ore from both World.cfg and WorldCustomGen.txt, and reactivating the ore's generation in its respective mod's config file.
  8. Hi, Stone Rhino, this is enough to help you: open the cogwheel in the upper right corner of the launcher and check the checkbox. If you haven't yet, you'll probably want to increase your allocation up to at least 2Gb, but you're crashing because you don't have the checkbox checked.
  9. Mek will not be returning before this build goes rec (it'll HOPEFULLY be returning in the next major build), but it sounds like the issue is that basic components isn't getting loaded correctly. I'll investigate. I'm not sure how I messed that up- my local copy of tekkit has the correct world configs, but the configs that went live are Big Dig's. Will fix. The permgen setting increases the portion of minecraft's memory that is dedicated to the permanent generation, the section of memory that's used to load classes and jars. I'm kind of worried about having a Tekkit version that requires memory fiddling, I'll see if it's possible to reduce permgen size a bit.
  10. There's nothing I can do without some clue about how to create the issue though.
  11. A whole thread full of people crashing and not one of them can produce a log. My, my.
  12. Hey I just fixed an issue that prevented the server or client from being downloaded :-O
  13. My understanding is that redstone energy conduits will auto-balance, but they require a couple blocks of conduit between them. I hope that's not my feverish imagination.
  14. Hey guys, there's now a thread to discuss 1.1.1: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/lets-test-tekkit-1-1-1.46753/ As a general rule, un-marked builds (builds that are neither marked Recommended nor Latest) should not be used. Latest represents a build that is ready for testing, which is where 1.1.1 is right now. So as a general rule I'd prefer if un-labeled builds weren't really discussed since they're VERY volatile, don't represent any particular state of completion, and probably won't even run. They will almost certainly wreck your maps, or even be incompatible with the build that actually ends up getting marked Latest. Case in point, I ended up pulling Mek out at the last moment. Sorry, but there were a couple features aidancbrady promised me that I want in before I roll out mekanism in tekkit. It'll happen soon, though! I hope you enjoy MFFS and Atomic Science, as well the other additions: Open Peripheral, Simple Power Storage, Logistics Pipes, Project Bench, and the big new versions of MFR, MPS, Computer Craft, and others.
  15. Hey, everyone, I've just promoted Tekkit 1.1.1 to Latest. There are a ton of key mod updates, the update to Minecraft 1.5.2, along with several new mods! We've got Project Bench, a direct drop-in replacement for the RP2 project bench, a couple new generators, Logistics Pipes, and Simple Power Storage, by Technic's sct! SPS adds a "Makeshift Energy Cell" which can be used as an early-game alternative to the Redstone Energy Cell! If you're interested in helping test, back up your worlds (SSP or server) and set your launcher up to use the "Latest" build, or manually select version 1.1.1. Play with us and report issues in this thread! This is a clean slate, so even if you've already reported an issue elsewhere, if it's present in 1.1.1, be sure to report it in this thread. The 1.1.1 server can be downloaded here: http://mirror.technicpack.net/Technic/servers/tekkitmain/Tekkit_Server_v1.1.1.zip Changelog for Tekkit 1.1.1- this is a list of all changes since 1.0.6: - Update Forge to build 723. - Corrected a rare crash bug in the Forge transparency fix - Added Project Bench version 1.7.5 - Added Atomic Science version 0.5.3.51 - Added MFFS version 3.0.2.124 - Added Open Peripheral version 0.1.5 - Added Buildcraft: Logistic Pipes version 0.7.3.6 - Added Simple Power Storage version 1.0.10 - Equivalent Exchange 3 version pre1h has had a crash bug removed - Balkon's Weapon Mod updated to version 1.12 - bspkrsCore updated to version 2.07 - Buildcraft updated to version 3.5.3 - Chicken Chunks updated to version 1.3.2.11 - Code Chicken Core updated to version 0.8.6.12 - Computer Craft updated to version 1.53 - CoFH Core updated to version 1.5.2.2 - Custom LAN Ports updated to version 1.5.2 - Dimensional Anchors updated to version 55.0.1 - Equivalent Exchange 3 updated to version pre1h - Ender Storage updated to version 1.4.2.10 - Immibis Core updated to version 55.1.2 - Iron Chests updated to version 5.2.6.412 - MineFactory Reloaded updated to version 2.6.2.924 - Mystcraft updated to version 0.10.4.00 - Not Enough Items updated to version 1.5.2.21 - Nether Ores updated to version 2.1.5.75 - Omni Tools updated to version 3.1.4.0 - OpenCCSensors updated to version 1.5.2.0 - PowerCrystals Core updated to version 1.1.6.107 - Rei's Minimap updated to version 3.3_06 - Thermal Expansion updated to version 2.4.3.0 - Applied Energistics updated to version 10.n - Steve's Carts updated to version 2.0.0.a117 - Dimensional Doors updated to version 1.3.6.73 - Modular Powersuits updated to version 0.7.0.534 - MPS Addons updated to version 0.2.3.144 - Immibis Microblocks updated to version 55.0.1 - Backpacks updated to version 1.9.11 - Treecapitator updated to version 1.5.2.r01 - Trade Booth updated to version 0.4 - Buildcraft: Additional Pipes updated to version 2.3.0 - Galacticraft updated to version a0.1.35.297
  16. Well, one thing to try out is to skip everything between Big Dig .9 and .12- if being on .10 or .11 is a requirement to make the crash happen then we're just gonna chalk your maps up as a casualty of testing since those builds are gonna get wiped when we rec the new build.
  17. I'd also like to drive home the point that we almost never get the opportunity to remove mods. Breaking worlds is not something we do lightly, removing mods always breaks worlds, which means that we're stuck with a mod after sticking it in the pack for a very, very long time. RP2 not getting updated meant we were going to break worlds anyway, so removing IC2, which will probably collapse entirely before we next get an opportunity to remove it, was the right thing to do.
  18. It's not enough for you to have 2Gb of memory, you need to check the checkbox in the menu where you allocate the memory. If that's still not enough, you'll need to get a log for me.
  19. I'm not sure that optifine's responsible. You also have out-of-date java (I don't think that's responsible either, but you should definitely update). Looks like a strange, but unserious, mystcraft bug. I'd update java, see if it fixes it for some weird reason. EDIT: typer_monkey and crazybud- can either of you guys get me a detailed list of steps to reproduce either the galacticraft dupe bug, or the getActiveAllele() Extra Bees crash from a fresh map? I'm trying to repro so I can do some work on them but coming up short.
  20. Can you provide detailed repro steps for this? It's been reported a few times, but neither me or micdoodle can reproduce it so he hasn't been able to fix it. I'll report this to sengir, but unless a fix comes out very very soon, I'm gonna have to recommend this build with the bug still live. Can't let forestry hold us up forever. : Gotta get the bees crash fixed first, though.
  21. The thing to keep in mind is that this has been going on for over a month now. People don't read existing threads, and don't read the entire thread when they respond to stuff like this one. I'm really tired of giving the same list of 10 RP2 and IC2 replacements over and over again, and I'm tired of people coming back and saying "Well those were nice but since Tekkit/Big Dig doesn't have a replacement for (X thing that there is a really easy and prominent replacement, which they didn't ask about) I'm leaving forever, goodbye." Some people just aren't that interested in moving on and I can see why some would be tired of wasting their time with them. Losing your patience just pushes more people away, though, so I hope everyone will chill out and just don't respond if you're tired of dealing with it.
  22. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the only optifine issue- Muse's position right now seems to be "don't use opitifine". She's doing a ton of custom rendering stuff that's forge-compatible but who the heck knows when the optifine guy will actually get his stuff fixed. I haven't used optifine since starting Big Dig- Graphics: Fast, View Distance: Normal, Advanced OpenGL: On is enough to get my framerate just fine.
  23. Do you have optifine installed? Log.
  24. Do they crash without optifine installed?
  25. I can't repro this, and speaking with Machine Muse, she said that this was a problem that occurred for people without forge 712+. So, do me two things: - What is your graphics card/adapter? Full name and model- you can find it in the display tab of dxdiag.exe if you have windows. - Go to the main menu and read me off the forge and FML version from the bottom left.
