Portal 2 glitch

When I try to open Portal 2 my monitor says unsupported and doesn't show the screen. I'm posting here because this is a great forum community for bugs and I don't know where else to go.

10:1 the game is trying to run at a resolution your monitor does not support. uninstalling/reinstalling may fix this, or doing whatever it takes to delete any custom settings so it goes back to default, assuming it hasn't always done this. if it IS default and doing this, you need to find out how to change the resolution settings outside of the game itself. there's probably a command line for it.

If it's like Minecraft, you could edit the settings file (google how to do it properly) and see if that works.

I figured it out, When you go to steam>portal 2>settings>on startup>type -window

that makes it run in windowed mode and it works so thanks for your help anyway.

What about sleep apnea? Do you suffer from it? This sites gives good advice as to how to cure it.
