Kewish Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I've been teaching myself Cinema 4D. I've been a lover of Photoshop/Illustrator for a good 4 years. 3 months ago I discovered the joy of 3D renders. Modelling, texturing, and of course waiting nearly a day for my pictures to render out. I wanted to try out a Tekkit related render to test some new techniques. So far I only have these two pics. Anyone from SGTekkit will have seen them already however, I wanted to share these with other Tekkit lovers! Click for Full Size Quote
RyZup Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Really awesome work. I myself got C4D but am too lazy to learn it (seems to complicated for me, did once something with text but imo turned out not so well =D) I know that some people make a work in C4D and then take it to the next level in photoshop (you could take that as a useful word of advice/inspiration for future works) . Kewish Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Thanks champ. I think C4D as well as Max and Maya are programs that you can spend countless hours learning. I guess you've really got to be interested in CG. work in C4D and then take it to the next level in photoshop This is true for stills, but I've been playing with animations of late and have been taking them into Adobe After Effects. It has really good integration with Adobe products. Quote
ErusPrime Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 the plugins for after effects can make some amazing stills easier than photoshop in some cases. Quote
Kewish Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 Thank Erus, I've not thought of using AE in that way. I don't have any plugins for AE, with the exception of Trapcode Particular. I am a hobbiest photographer so I look at PS as my 'go to man'. Quote
ErusPrime Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Photoshop is fantastic for editing RAW camera images. Even particular can make some cool stuff. You spread it out, throw a little air on it, colorize and add a glow and you have a cool lookin smoke/fluid like line that spread across layers. Quote
Kewish Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 Photoshop is fantastic for editing RAW camera images. Absolutely! I always shoot in .RAW along with a tiny JPEG, I only have a 50D but even with the smaller sensor she get's the job done. I'm looking forward to using Camera RAW For CS6. I've seen the vids and exposure correction among a myriad of other new features is a little too exciting. I'll make note to extend myself further with AE and learn some new stuff! Quote
ErusPrime Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 video copilot has a boot camp and some tutorials on plugins you may not have used before. A lot of the skills can be translated out. made this a little while ago from his tutorials. Quote
Kewish Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 Yeah Andrew Kramer is amazing. I've seen a lot of his tutorials. I even have his designer sound pack. I used it to make this. Keep in mind this is a WIP and not nearly near done. http://youtu.be/pViwEjDLIVM That's a really nice animation too man! Great work. Quote
Forum Administrators sct Posted June 15, 2012 Forum Administrators Posted June 15, 2012 Like I already told you these look great I want to see more! Quote
arctichenry Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I second sct, these are epic. I would love to see some more renders of common tekkit items. Quote
Kewish Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 Thanks guys. I've been caught up with the never ending supply of Uni requirements and my new bike. I've not done any graphics or Minecraft at all for that matter for some time. I really do enjoy it so when the excitement of the R1 subsides I'll do some more Tekkit related renders! Quote
ErusPrime Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 sometimes I like to view these pictures, turn the lights down low, put on some Al Green or Otis Redding and touch myself. Quote
BCkid Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Only a few things to say... Awesome and tutorials? Quote
Kewish Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 Only a few things to say... Awesome and tutorials? Thank you. And that would take time I don't have anymore. That would be kinda fun to make however. You can just do a heap of tutorials on Cinema4D and start there! Quote
Pulse95 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 These kind of look like fancy erasers or chewy candy. Very nice! Quote
