Launcher downloads but wont install application on desktop

So as the title says, I can download the launcher, however it doesnt give me an option to make an application on my desktop like any other game i have. How does one do this so i dont have to redownload the tekkit launcher each time?

Save the Launcher executable (presumably TechnicLauncher.exe) in a folder of your choice. Drag it to the desktop using the RIGHT mouse button and select "Create Shortcut".
