Nether problem

Whenever i try to enter the nether my screen swirls around and it says loading but then im just standing back in the overworld but its really dark and a lot of the textures are messed up. for instance my basalt netherbrick house is made of sugar cane and when i hit it, that one block turns back into basalt cobblestone

Judging from the funky effects you experience, your computer is probably infested with gremlins. Or smurfs. But we shall still see what can be done if you >give us a chance.
