thecracker Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Is there maybe a list of which weapons and armor are the best, stat-wise and durability-wise? I tried a Sapphire Sword vs. an Iron Halberd, and the Halberd seems to do more damage But I know that there are a lot more weapons and items and I don't know which ones are good and which bad :( Quote
Industrial Miner Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 The nanosaber from IC2 can hurt a lot, but is hard and expensive to make. You can't break it however, because it is rechargable in a MFE or a MFSU. A battleaxe from Balkon's weapons has knockback, so that is useful. The redmatter omnitools from EE2 have infinite durability but are a bitch to make because of the amount of diamonds and Aeternalis fuel you need to make. The IC2 chainsaw counts as a weapon too. The IC2 mining laser is good for long range, can cause explosions and burns whatever it hits. The EE2 gem armor ,the most goddamn expensive armor to make, because each requires a FULLY CHARGED Klein Star OMEGA, grants free flight, mining explosives, can kick mobs far away and the helmet, when activated, can cause lightning to strike wherever you look at. thecracker Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 What weapons and armor should I get before I go into the Nether again? Any cheap but good ones I can make? Quote
Xylord Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 What weapons and armor should I get before I go into the Nether again? Any cheap but good ones I can make? In Technic, the only reason to go to Nether is getting some glowstone, so you'll probably want a jetpack. The mining laser would be pretty nice too. Other than that, as long as you stay away from the blaze, keep an eye on Ghasts and leave the pigmen alone, you should be able to get through without even getting hit. You'll want rubber boots though. Edit : If I think about it, the mining laser isn't exactly cheap, but it's absolutely worth it. Quote
thecracker Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 I found like a bazillion different great items in chests in the BetterDungeons Strongholds. So a trip to the Nether is def. worth it Quote
Industrial Miner Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 It requires 2 carbon plates, 2 advanced alloys, 2 glowstone dust and an energy crystal. You'll also have to make the machines to make the parts (except for the energy crystal and the glowstone dust ) and you can only recharge it in an MFE, MFSU or in a MK2/3 charging bench. Quote
OmegaJasam Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Weapons wise the Battle axes are crazy, and double as a weak shovel/axe due to the sheer damage they do. (And they break some blocks like leaves /really/ fast). I suspect an enchanted Battle axe or similar is stronger then the nano sabre. Armour wise I tend to use iorn (or sometimes bronze) with rubber boots untill I can make nano. EE2 armour is pritty much /post-game/ in terms of both power and difficulty to make, so I generaly act like the don't exist till long after the poit one would say make a nano-saber Quote
thecracker Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 What's the difference between bronze and iron in armor and tools? Quote
Industrial Miner Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 What's the difference between bronze and iron in armor and tools? Straight from the wiki: The Bronze Armor is made with the power and resistance of Bronze! The special ability of Bronze is the advanced durability. Each item you craft of Bronze, will not only look far more awesome, but will also last about 30% longer. Isn't it great? HAYO! And, The Bronze Pickaxe is one of the Bronze tools. Bronze items are a bit more durable than iron, having approximately 350 uses before breaking. The Bronze Pickaxe can mine the same ores as iron, but it isn't quite as fast. Quote

Does that mean that the armor will last longer, take more hits, but reduce less the damage received? It seems to be the logic used with iron. Quote

It will last longer, but I don't know if it's weaker than iron. You could try and test it if you really want to know. Just compare iron and bronze in different situations. (creeper explosions, TNT explosions, lava swimming, skeletons shhoting arrows, zombies hitting you etcetera ) Quote
