Java Heap Size issues

After scouring the internet, I have not been able to find any fixes to this issue that work for me. I'm not sure what the issue is anymore and I am reaching out to all of you genius individuals.

Error occurred during initialization of VM

Could not reserve enough space for 3145728KB object heap

Now, of course i've altered everything i can. I changed the Xmx3g to a higher amount and it issued the fatal error:

The specified size exceeds the maximum representable  size. 

error: could not create the java virtual machine.

error: a fatal exception has occurred. program will exit.

 

 

I'm at a total loss. Could some helpful individual help me out?

I found the fix. I  was using the current java update it was like jdk 8 somthing. I removed that and installed jdk 7_54 or whatever it is and then the server started for me. I hope this will work for you!
