Eh, minecraft premium system isn't 100% perfect, he might not be a pirated user, once me and my pal were playing Tekkit on his server and I got kicked out saying I wasn't a premium user. And he was the one who gave me a gift code.

Why not just save up the $5 you were going to use for the whitelisted server, then save more, and more, until you have enough to buy Minecraft?
