Okay so i'm fairly new to tekkit. I decide that I want to pvp someone with RM armor while I have quantum armor. Obviously this will take quite awhile. But what I was wondering was who would end up winning in the long run RM armor or quantum. Why I say this is because Quantum is based on charge, if it isn't charged it won't be effective, and if I pvp against RM armor which has 90% damage reduction, but doesn't need charging, does that mean I will win? I understand that there is Gem armor, but for the server I play on it's banned so it's not an option. Anyways what i'm getting at if RM armor and Quantum armor are using the same weapons won't RM armor come out on top because it requires no charge? Please correct me if I am wrong, thank you!

Quantum will win.

Quantum takes several hundred thousand sword hits to discharge before you can damage them, RM just takes 10x the normal hits to kill.

Plus quantum has the nifty bonuses of underwater breathing, poison immunity, fall damage immunity, and sprinting/jumping.

Nano vs redmatter would be a better comparison.

No, because red matter blocks 90% damage while quatum blocks 100%. So the person with quantum will eventually deal enough damge to kill the other person. Also, the amount of time quantum armour can go without charging is massive, someone wearing that armour will survive anything short of a nuclear reactor explosion. So i would go with quantum armour.

Edit: Neowulf beat me too it.

Actually, no. Even reactor meltdowns won't even chip quantum's durability. The only thing I know of killing a quantum is fall damage, from about 20000 blocks high, maybe more. I know you're dead for sure at 30000 blocks.

In tekkit with duncan, duncan is wearing full quantum, yet when his reactor explodes, it severely damages the armiur, as he falls in lava and dies in the next second.

This episode (I hope you're not surprised) was mostly scripted. He probably took care of discharging nearly completely his armor before making this.

Check the IC2 Wiki.

Depends on items such as swiftwolfs rending gale, archangels smite, etc. Also it depends on the persons skill like if the person in quantom (you) plays on the person in RMs (him) weaknesses (falling damage, explosions, etc.) Than you will win but if the fight plays on long enough than he will win. (And by long enough i mean many many hours strait XD)

You are also forgetting the Soul Stone which gives a EE user basic immortality, by healing them 1 health per second when needed. You would have to get quite alot of consecutive hits to do any significant damage. But its not really a fair fight considering the EE equivalent to Quantum is Gem, not RM.

What would be the IC2 equivalent of EE2's katar? I'm pretty sure the katar beats the nano saber any day.

a nuke?

What if the admin won't allow nukes because he is afraid his computer will explode (due to lag) if anyone uses a nuke.
