tekkit randomly crashes and frezes on windows 8 pls help me

so I bought a new computer thinking today would be awesome. I bring it home load it up did my recovery disks then I tried to pay tekkit. but it kept crashing randomly and I I don't know how to fix it. it either runs out of memory which I don't know how to fix or it freezes again I don't know how to fix and then it randomly exiting out of tekkit. im running windows 8 and this is all new stuff to me. I spent 600$ on my computer and im kinda pissed off. if you know how to fix it pls help me -138coollife

Pro tip: Don't use Windows 8. It has a myriad of issues. Couple that with the myriad of issues Java has, and you're just asking for trouble.

Probably not. People are staying away from Windows 8 as it's a nightmare to work with due to a huge lack of drivers, functionality and the people who use it. The tech-savvy people tend to stay away from Windows 8, so developers don't see a need to include Windows 8 in their compatibility as their products are made for tech-savvy people.

This might be fixed soon. Or later. You can also downgrade to Windows 7 without reinstalling the entire PC.

I am going to assume that neither one of you has used windows 8 for a long period of time. I have been using it for several months and have not had any issues with it. Also, my main computer is Windows 8 and I have yet to run into this issue. Check the version of windows you are running, if it is a laptop make sure that you are not using the RT version of windows 8.

Yeah, no one had issues with it. Sure. Apart from just about everyone who wants to game on his PC, including the original poster. And I haven't used Windows 8 for an extended period of time because nothing worked on it, so I switched back.

Just because YOU had no issues doesn't mean no one does.

First thing I would try is using the 64 bit version of Java instead of the 32 bit since you're using a 64 bit OS. I never had a problem with Windows 8 and Minecraft before either and I've been running it since the Dev version well over a year ago.
