Hey there, I've been enjoying this site and the packs on it for a while and been trying to set up my own private pack to play around in. I was accomplishing some for a while, but recently I've not been able to download and install any of the packs I try and set up. I always end up getting the  "error unzipping a file for the following pack:" message, telling me to contact the mod pack author, which is me:/ . I've looked around and found a few threads that had similar problems, but I have gone through and done the same stuff to fix it that they have and still no luck. I removed the resources pack folder(though for loot++ you need its custom resource pack), checked and double checked that my dropbox link was properly set up, and I am pretty sure my modpack.jar file works fine. I am starting to get kinda frustrated, so any help would be appreciated.

Links to the pack I am testing:

  • You should be changing your dropbox links in this manner: Change "www" to "dl". Change "dropbox" to "dropboxusercontent". Remove "?dl=0" or "?dl=1".
  • There is a file with a non-standard-ascii name in /mods/millenaire/languages/zh_tw/ (starts with an 'S'). Remove that file.

I already have the "dl=1 set up in the edit modpack page and save. And double checked. If it isn't displaying it right and giving you a ?dl=0, I don't think that is something I can fix. I was having problems earlier though where I copy and pasted the dropbox link in, forgot to change it to a 1, and then when ever I tried to fix it the launcher wouldn't read the update. Had to delete the test pack and make a new one with a different name for the launcher to notice the difference.

The file in the millenaire folder though did seem to be the cause of the issue, thanks much it works fine now!

Please note that the "?dl=1" was one of three distinct things that needed to be changed in the URL. It's all or nothing. Basically, if you use a "www.dropbox.com/blah/blah?dl=1" link it will be redirected internally by dropbox when referenced to "dl.dropboxusercontent.com/blah/blah". It is advantageous for you to make that change yourself so that it doesn't require that redirection step.

Glad the file reference solved your immediate problem.
