First off there is a fundamental difference between technic/FTB and tekkit. That is the ability to host large quantities of users on a single persistent server and manage the server appropriately. Just because vanilla has gone to an all smp compatible mode does not deter this differentiation.

Now, my speculation would be that tekkit will remain well and alive as its own entity for large server play even if tekkit were to use all the mods in the technic pack, it is already true that not all servers run all the same mods. Tekkit unto itself will primarily be a server I believe with the client end having a name difference only to denote varying loadouts for particular servers a user plays on.

Thanks Mr Lothos, that's cleared up a few things. One last with, will millienare be made compatable for LAN. If not then how will this effect vanilla minecraft users of it like my self?

Millenaire already has SMP support.

Thanks for telling me that mate. Now I can play LAN with it.

Be warned, however, it is quite new and will probably scream at you, fill your computer with ducks, make you pregnant, and produce and error log that sucks all the joy out of the room when viewed.

I'll give it a mouth for them to get rid of the bugs. It probably has more mutated bugs then fallout!

We are probably not going to see a new tekkit for at least one to two months or more. As the whole foragebukkit issue needs to be resolved first as you need the added server functionality to host any type of public server. But as Lothos pointed out it is not going any where any time soon and more than likely we will see technic 8 long before we see tekkit 4.

It's better waiting for a while for a good product then a bad one. Plus it gives us more time to make mods for potatoes.

Cruddy potato batteries for IC2, perhaps?

Ability to place potatoes in the battery slot for low voltage machines to power them and turn the potato into a rotten poison potato once it is done.

Or better yet put potatoes in the macerator to make mashed potatoes to eat if you do not mind the metal shavings from the ores you just macerated.

No chips of course!

I have really bad experience with millenaire mod... Honestly I don't really want to see it in tekkit.

It never will be, don't worry. It was pulled from Technic already, so there's no chance it'll make a random comeback unless the maker fixes the lag issues and any other problems caused by it.

don't make claims you have no means of effecting the outcome of. The mod is a very good idea and deserves to be in tekkit once the technical issues that caused it to be removed are corrected.

Yeah, that's why I said there's no chance it'll make a comeback until the lag and stuff gets fixed. It's definitely not a Forestry case, the mod could still come back. Just not in it's current state, unless the Technic team make a U-turn on their attempts to stop Technic being so laggy.

well, i thought it had made a couple revisions since its exclusion. I know some folks are running it again, but i haven't yet.

Like most mods, it should still work with Technic. They just didn't want it to lag so much(Naturally spawning chunk loaders = lag problems). If anyone does want it with their Technic in the future, I'm sure it should be compatible.
