Mista Panda Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I use mcmyadmin, ive set difficulty to easy, restarted a couple times. But despite that my users are being attacked when they enter the nether. Any ideas why and how i can fix this? Quote
LazDude2012 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Mista Panda, the issue is simple: someone aggravated the pigmen. The hostile/non-hostile status of the pigmen is server-wide, not per player. Any time someone aggro's the pigmen, they're aggro'd for the whole server. Just don't let anyone enter the Nether for a couple of days, and your problem will resolve itself. Quote
Chefsbrian Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Keep in mind that mining the nether ores near pigmen will set them hostile as well. Quote
Mista Panda Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Wow thanks for the help guys. So would it be optimal to wipe or kill the agro'ed mobs? then will it be safe again as long as no one mines etc? Quote
LazDude2012 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 nope, you really have to wait a few days until the game resets the pigmen. And don't let people mine nether ores. LOL Quote
Mista Panda Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Eh man that sucks >< so i suppose not being there, which hence unloads the chunk dont reset the mobs that were inside the chunk"? Quote
LazDude2012 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 No, I believe it is actually a function of time. Like, I'm fairly sure it checks to see how long it has been since a player was in the chunk. Just wait it out. Quote
Mista Panda Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Ahh kk thanks for everyones help Quote
JakeVH Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Also in the future, you might want to disable mining of the nether ore. Either that, or the zombie pigmen. Quote
danidas Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Or just deal with them for unlimited gold a nugget at a time, grant it they are one of the most nasty of mobs in the game other then the wither. Quote
Chefsbrian Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Or, rather than poking holes in all this stuff, and disabling or forbidding stuff, just clearly state that the nether is to be ventured in at your own peril. Nether ores can be incredibly profitable, you just gotta have the gear to fight your way back out. Its no fun to say "This is dangerous, lets stop it", its more fun to say "This is dangerous, but there's treasures aplenty to be found" Quote
