IC2 Advanced Machine Errors Game Unplayable 2.1

Question

Posted

Launcher/pack Version: Tekkit 2.1

Operating System: Win7 64-bit

Version of Java: Java7

Description of Problem: Whenever my game loads Advanced Machines that have been cached, meaning that I didn't place them in the last time the game was on, it locks up and then after 5-10 seconds it flashes my screen like my graphics driver is reset. The game then is pitch black, I can hear sound, but I can't interact with anything, but my character stays logged in until I ctrl-alt-del the java process.

Error Messages: N/A

Link to pastebin of log: http://pastebin.com/wKiZAr8R

What I HAVE done:

Uninstall Reinstall

- Uninstalled JAva6/Java7

- Deleted .techniclauncher

- Installed Java7

- Downloaded Technic Launcher and installed tekkit.

EDIT: Video Driver Rollback.

What I WILL NOT do: Reformat my computer.

What I WILL do: Everything else

Same issue here.

Playing SMP with the latest dev build.

Launcher/pack Version: Technic launcher 0.5.4.9 set to "always dev build" (2.1.0 | 1.1).

Operating System: Win 7 64bit.

Version of Java: Java 7 64bit.

GPU: AMD 5850 x2 with 12.1 and 12.2.

I play in windowed mode though so CF is ofc disabled.

Description of Problem: Same issue. When I log on a specific chunk makes my drivers crash.

(The chunk contains rotary macerators, induction furnaces, extractors and compressors.)

This chunk made one guy on my server lag down to around 10 fps. A third guy had no issues

entering my house/this chunk. I also tried logging in from my HTPC and it had no issues at all.

I've tried updating to the latest set of drivers but that changed nothing.

Error Messages: N/A

Edit: I gave up on trying to fix this. A couple of hours later I found myself bored so I tried

logging on again. After running around on my server for two hours I returned to my house.

This time I could load the chunk I thought was causing the errors without any issues. Merrily

returning to my turtle-mining business I a few minutes later had minecraft crash. When I logged

back on, I got the same error again. However, the only machines nearby this time are a few

mining turtles and maybe a redstone engine/tank/pipe setup. It seems I really have no idea

what's causing this.

New log:

http://pastebin.com/3zvNkXLz

Note that the crash I'm talking about occurred just before the restart of the launcher at 05.44,

the last message prior to that restart of the client is 44 minutes earlier. Around line 500.

Might be a dumb Q: But is this related to if you try to play Tekkit in SMP, or joining a server? You seem to have amissmatch, and according to the timestamps, it seems like you are doing something, eighter playing SSP with it or connection to a server.

[09:49:08] [sEVERE] [MD5 Mismatch] File '\launcher\technicssp\modpack.yml' has md5 of '3cd6a46355959f7a8fdec0def913df1a' instead of '38cc8b4c2d775fafd60e7adb4f4943ab'

This was an error when 2.0 first got released where the client wasnt matching the server files.

Edit: I know the line say SSP, but im still asking

Edit2: Start the client, and when you get the bug, force the client to close, dont try to do anything. Then go to you logfolder, and find the latest log, post that. If it say the same, try the same step a few times, it sometimes dont log all errors for some reason. Several logfiles might help out alot more here, the _0 isnt always showing whats needed.

I have an idea... I'm sorry if this is dumb, but after searching around for 10 minutes, the MD5 mismatch error is often caused by an antivirus program... specifically AVG. If you have an Antivirus (which since you said you just reformatted you might not), try disabling it.

Sp0nge if i understand your question correctly, I've never played SSP on Tekkit*, only joining a server. I noticed that mismatch, I do play SSP on TECHNIC though. As for anti-virus I do NOT ever ever ever have anti-virus installed, mostly for this very reason.

Sp0nge they all say the same thing. sadly there is no errors, it just causes my graphics drivers to reset, and the game becomes unplayable. But I can still hear sound and i stay logged in, I just cant see or interact at all.

Do you have a skype? I have an idea but it might not be completely ok for me to say it on here :P

It is because of my ATI drivers. I'm positive thats the cause, if you google my error, the only results are people with radeon hd cards. So if anyone can get me the link to a driver thats older, as well as instructions on how to install it easily... You get the 50$ (if it fixes my problem, 90% sure it will)

Here it is! The last thing my game does before Crashing my graphics driver....

AHEM!!!!

Warning: Texture /ic2/sprites/block_advmachine.png not preloaded, will cause ren

der glitches!

setupTexture: "/ic2/sprites/block_advmachine.png", id: 217

The amount of work I had to do to GET you that little tidbit was retarded, but now that you have it, anyone got a solution?

Well that's odd. Are you using a texture pack? If so, you could try disabling it, if not you could try using one that supports advanced machines. Alternatively, you could find that file in the advanced machines zip in tekkit/mods and back it up then replace it with a transparent texture of the same dimensions and see if that helps.

edit: or monochrome instead of transparent

Here's how...

1. Get an image editor other than MS Paint, such as Paint .NET (google "paint .net")

2. Open up the Advanced Machines and Industrial Craft .zips

3. Look through both and see if you can find ic2/sprites/block_advmachine.png

4. open it with editor you downloaded earlier, and use the eraser to erase everything. Then use the paint bucket to fill it with white, black, or gray (all one color)

5. save

6. select all the files INSIDE THE FOLDERS that were created when you unziped the mod .zip/s (all the files inside one, do step 7, then the same with the files inside the other folder)

7. right click on the selected files and choose "send to > compressed (zipped) folder"

8. Rename the .zip it creates to the exact name as the original .zips of the mods

9. Back up the original .zips

10. place new .zips into mods folder

done

Good luck :)

I prefer GIMP =p Here I can make them for you.

Transparent:

DF0Dc.png

Monochrome:

ehhfg.png

just rename it to block_advmachine.png, and it is in the AdvancedMachines_3.6_client.zip

use whichever you want your blocks to look like, or try them both, or this won't work at all and I am just wasting your time. Worth a shot tho!
