Portablejim Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 It is from thermal expansion I think. Also fairly sure it has no use at the moment. Quote
lukeb28 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 ferrous meaning magnetic (or something containing iron), it might be used in some kind of motor assembly in the future? Quote
Azeryn Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Haven't used it in Tekkit at all, but from the FTB wiki "Ferrous Ore is an ore that is found in lower layers. It is a primary source of nickel; It can be smelted into Nickel Ingots or macerated into Nickel Dust." Quote

Nucco Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 You would think they would call it Nickel then... What does it do? According to FTB: "Nickel is mostly used in alloys. It's used in heating coils (such as the Cupronickel Heating Coil) to make an Industrial Blast Furnace." Quote

bwillb Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Nickel is from GregTech. The Forge Ore Dictionary lets it use Ferrous Ore, which would otherwise be useless. Quote
Loh Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Place Ferrous Ore into the Pulverizer to make Pulverized Ferrous Dust and Shiny Dust. Pulverized Ferrous Dust can be Invar Blend which can be made into Invar Ingots Invar Ingots is required for Invar Gears. Quote
