Dan Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Well I used to play a Tekkit server untill it closed, I want to now make a single player Tekkit world however I crash when I do this because Tekkit was designed for multiplayer. People say use the Technic pack instead for single player however it contains a lot more mods that I don't like, I just want a single player world that only contains the mods that the Tekkit pack uses, any idea how I would do this? I've tried clicking that 'Mod Select' button on the front screen before you login in hoping I would be able to disable certain mods but nothing happens when I press that :/
Dan Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 I tried, I just found random massive stone structures full of spawners everywhere and every 30 seconds I found myself running away from a lion/wolf, then some random floating glowing thing killed me, the fuck is this. There must be a way to get Tekkit singleplayer.

You have to use Technic and use the BIG ASS BUTTON LABELED MOD SELECT in the launcher to disable the mods you don't want.
The Merchant of Menace Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Tekkit shouldn't be crashing in singleplayer, there's more wrong there than it just "being designed for multiplayer"

Perhaps you should read my full post before you just go ahead and post something stupid. Tekkit shouldn't be crashing in singleplayer, there's more wrong there than it just "being designed for multiplayer" Do you think it could be something to do with it not being downloaded properly? If so I'll try and un-install it then re-install it.
The Merchant of Menace Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I'd have to assume that, yeah. Works fine for me in singleplayer,
blazorfire Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I'd have to assume that, yeah. Works fine for me in singleplayer, ^^^ Mine works in single player. And i also dont like Technic... i rather tekkit.
Dan Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 Alright going to redownload it and mess around with tekkit singleplayer/technic with the mod select button, cheers bros.
linkthegamer Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Alright going to redownload it and mess around with tekkit singleplayer/technic with the mod select button, cheers bros. Search the forums for how to fix the button. It has been mentioned a few times.
Awesomeadam76 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I as well dislike many of the mods in Technic Pack. You could create a tekkit server and just play it on your own, or you could disable the mods you dislike. To get the mod selecting button to work you have to set some file type to be opened with notepad.
Yuriy Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I tried, I just found random massive stone structures full of spawners everywhere and every 30 seconds I found myself running away from a lion/wolf, then some random floating glowing thing killed me, the fuck is this. There must be a way to get Tekkit singleplayer. I often use my Tekkit to hop into singleplayer to either build worlds for SMP or test and never had a problem with it. However, if you're just looking to play SSP why not just use Technic and in Modloader.cfg (think that's the right one) just turn off Mo'Creatures (crocs and tigers and ogres and such), Better Dungeons (all the super hard mobs), and Thaumcraft (likely the floating thing that makes a weird noise). You can also turn off Millienaire (spell?) which gives you a bunch of NPC towns. Anyway, have you tried to re-install Tekkit from scratch?
