Please ony comment with helpful information as I just want some help lol, please no sarcastic comments about laziness, I've tried every post, loads f videos, messages people on this forum, Please just some help :)

Hi, I've been trying to build my custom modpack and was wondering, after waching countless videos and reading loads of instructions, how do you add content packs to your modpack, any help would be appreciated, I've also downloaded packs and had a look but with no success

To the direct point of what I think you're wanting, go here. Straight forward information. You're not really looking into modpacks but an addon to an already installed mod from what I read out of the other thread.

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/182918-152flans-mod-planes-vehicles-guns-multiplayer-tdm-conquest/#Tutorial

I suggest you give that whole page a read from top to bottom(including all of the spoilers, etc.)

Edit: Here is the link I meant to put in:

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/182918-152flans-mod-planes-vehicles-guns-multiplayer-tdm-conquest/#ContentPacks

There is an installation for content packs, you just pick one and follow the instructions, Make sure the pack is compatible with your MC version

It's straight forward, if you can't understand that you probably shouldn't mess with custom mod packs, although I mean no offense, just being truthful.

Paraphrasing what it says on that site, put the content pack files in the the flan folder as per the instructions.

If you spent the time reading the whole post and some of the comments/replies you should know that.

Edit: I also want to mention that since you're talking about a specific mod and addons for that mod, you might be better seeking help from the actual mod author or the mod's original post(as I linked to) for specific help about that mod.

Have you looked at the flans portion of the guide? From the other thread that you made and got locked it seems you have not. It also seems as if you broke the rules of making a dupe thread of the last one I referred to. Be careful where and what you post.

His other thread didn't get locked by double-threading. It got locked 'cuz it got nowhere.

FTFY. :derp:

I made an attempt of making a rant that would strike this very issue. "It dunt werk! Help!" is something we have seen so many times.

But you made it short and blunt, wish I had that talent.

Indeed. Simply saying that you have done a bunch of things is not helpful in determining where something went wrong. You have to describe what you did.

It doesn't really help. Allow me to translate, since something about what we're asking you to do is hilarious to you (given the lols) and you're not making a lot of sense.

1) Flan's mod was already in the mod pack Luke made for me, but there were no content packs to use with it.

2) I downloaded the content packs I wanted.

3) I copied the content pack files into the mod pack file.

4) I loaded the mod pack, and got a whitescreen or other error.

See, 1) and 2) are information on the situation, and we don't need anything else on those, other than to know what the situation is.

3) and 4) are action and result, and more information is needed. Did you put the files in a sub-folder inside the mod pack file? If so, what sub-folder? The way I read the Flan's thread on MCF, they need to go in a Flan folder, which is created either manually or when you run the game with the mod installed. That means you may have to install the content packs after the mod pack is run or installed. What kind of error did you get, if there was anything visible, and do you have a launcher or error log of it?

My description is the kind of process you would use to troubleshoot anything, from a car to a piece of software to assembling furniture. Learn to use diagnostic tools, and life, not just Minecraft, will go more smoothly for you.

It's not hilarious to me, it just makes it seem like I'm not being rude and arrogant.

Also, I basically got that information and thought that you had to make a folder and add them yourself to the Minecraft files personally , but other people manage to have them download with the pack, In my modpack I have all the mod files, inside the flans mod file is the content packs, there are no sub folders or anything, hope this may help

I'm starting to get the impression that English is not your first language, you're between the ages of 8 and 12, or you simply don't care how you sound. If you think about how the use of the acronym "lol" makes your post read, that might encourage you to stop using it. It's neither rude nor arrogant to avoid laughing out loud while you're trying to fix a problem. See my summary post above.

If other people have managed to get the content packs working, I have a suggestion. Download one of those mod pack files without doing it from the launcher (just use the URL provided, but in a browser), look at it, and figure out how they put it in the pack.

Thanks, no English s not my first language, I wondered how you downloaded packs without the launcher because tha could have solved all my problems in the first place, thankyou

Using the URL provided in a browser does not work, it gives you a white page with code

And part of that code is a URL, the launcher using this to download the pack, so just put it in your address bar and viola
