Keighvin Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 So I was just wondering if someone could explain how these are used, because I can't seem to figure out what good these blocks are.
dark_hunter Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 So I was just wondering if someone could explain how these are used, because I can't seem to figure out what good these blocks are. Took me me awhile to figure it out, but they treated as a multi block system, in witch you make a tank shape with a gap in the middle.
rogueclon946 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Sounds like they're pretty much the same as railcraft iron tanks then? I had been wondering the same thing but never tried them out.

Kiwionrails Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 How do you input/output liquid with pipes/liquiducts? I'm assuming that there is some sort of valve block?
Keighvin Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 There is a valve block, called a dynamic valve, but I don't know how to connect it to something. I'm just not going to mess with them in my regular world.
dark_hunter Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 How do you input/output liquid with pipes/liquiducts? I'm assuming that there is some sort of valve block? You need to follow the value rule with liquiducts, make sure that there pipe has been hit with a wrench and has a redstone sig like a lever. rogueclon946 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 yeah now it looks exactly the same as railcraft iron tanks lol And to make this post productive, are the tank capacities decent at all?
rogueclon946 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Finished filling my test tank with water. A 9x9x8(max railcraft iron tank size) holds 4,704,000 mb of water, or 4,704 buckets. A railcraft tank the same size holds 10,368 buckets :(
ikon106 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Do you know how to pump out liquids using mechanical pipes?
dark_hunter Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Do you know how to pump out liquids using mechanical pipes? You might need to use the Electric pump for that, but I'm not sure, the wiki isn't updated for the dynamic tanks yet.
Keighvin Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 Do the pipes visually connect? because I have tried in my creative world, and no pipe will connect to the valve.
dark_hunter Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Do the pipes visually connect? because I have tried in my creative world, and no pipe will connect to the valve. That means the tank hasn't been created right.
Maddawg5450 Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 So far, from my limited testing, the size of the dynamic tanks cannot be as large or larger than 20x20x20, unsure about 19x19x19 to 16x16x16. Just made a 15x15x15 in a creative world, and it looks as if its going to hold perhaps 20-30 thousand buckets. Will edit and reply with more info as I do further testing. Edit: 15x15x15 holds 35,152 buckets. dark_hunter Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Guess they are called dynamic for a reason. Good to know cheers.
jondonnis Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Has anyone got any videos or images of taking the liquid out the tanks via the valves? It's doing my head in as no matter what, with the liquiducts and a tesserack it won't come out. I tape the pipe so the arrows appear and then liquid goes into the pipe. Tessarack is set to send from the tank and another is set to receive but nothing ever gets to the other tessarack.
jondonnis Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I got it working with a waterproof pipe and redstone engine in the end.
jondonnis Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 What's really annoying with the dynamic tank is it doesn't change its appearance once its working. So attempting now, to create a 15x15x15 one and having problems getting it to work. Can't tell where there is a dynamic glass block missing as it must be that causing it not to work. Sticking it underground hasn't helped

I've setup a 15x15x15 on a test world, doesn't work.
Joker2040 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Did you build it in 1 chunk, or split between 2 or 4?
Maddawg5450 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 It has to be at least Dynamic Tank (walls) around the entire outside, the rest can be any mixture of wall, glass and valve. And it is 15x15x15.
jondonnis Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 All in one chunk, all laid out correctly yet still doesn't like the 15x15x15 size. Also dynamtic tanks don't play well with buildcraft pipes. They work OK when you first lay the pipes to pump the liquid out, but log off and on again and it flips the pipes so they are going the wrong way.
Maddawg5450 Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I used liquiducts, liquid tesseracts and bc pipes on my brothers server and it never went awry.
jondonnis Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I've only ever managed to get liquiducts to pump items into dynamic tanks, they refuse to release anything that is in the tank, hence forced to use the BC pipes.
