Progressively worsening block lag in SSP

I'm getting block lag in single player. It starts fine, but within a couple minutes becomes noticeable. The longer my game runs, the worse it gets, becoming unplayable before 20 minutes. Exiting and reloading the world clears it up temporarily. I have increase perm gen checked, and have tried 1.5GB and 3GB of RAM. Entity count isn't increasing significantly as block lag gets worse (I haven't seen it get over 109). Frame rate isn't affected (I get 80-120 - pretty much as good as I get in vanilla). Anyone have any ideas?

I've been racking my head around this issues for 18 hours now... i've torn threw the files and been watching files logs...(I run a clean server nothing but the mod pack)

something in this mod pack just hates life.

I'm watching my server sit a 97% free resources and yet 3 ppl only online and they are moving like snails and the mobs are stationry. Block mining is horrible. Ok I reboot the server and poof its doing GREAT no problems then slowly the lag comes back over a 10-20 minute time frame.

Things i've done giving more and less stats to chunk load(someone have a good understanding of that config please fill me in)

dropped view render even to 3 still problems.

increased 51-52 packet

fed it between 4-32 ram and even upgraded the processor chip still SAME issues occur.

Someone out there knows what to fix in the config file and they are not talking because i see 76+ servers running with CRAPPIER pc spec.

Mind you only 4 ppl tops have been on and this happens when one person sits around.

This is the same server i ran a 120 voltz pvp on no-lagg issues

I feel your pain and i wish I could help but this is the same issues that voltz had when it first released... the mod pack itself has configure issues and something is happening.

97% free resouces with 1 person on and yet lag.... blink blink report server no-lagg 72 free until settles then minutes later lag monster returns oh and the console spamming cant keep up?? hate this message

Hey so lemme know if Hexxit 1.0.1 fixes this issue.

I'm getting the same issues described here on Hexxit 1.01. No idea what's causing it. Sometimes I can go an hour without any lag, sometimes I get 10 second pauses every few minutes.

I'm not experiencing any lag at all, not on 1.0, not on 1.0.1. (Well, besides from framerate lag which I'm causing by using settings and shaders that melt my poor laptop :P)

It seems like it may only be certain worlds that lag, but I'm not sure why. Specific structures that generate, perhaps? Try making a few worlds and playing for a bit on each of them and see if any lag for you.

So far, I've created five worlds, I explored them almost all for about 10k blocks in all directions: no lag at all.

I've got optifine installed, it is required for the shaders I use, that probably helps. I suggest you try that.

yeah I actually added Optifine last night and it hasn't really helped. I got a huge lag spike a little bit ago when I came upon a tree dungeon.

I was getting errors connected to InfernalMobs it said to set useSimpleEntityClassnames=true to true if it was showing up too much. (config/InfernalMobs.cfg) I think it was asking for a name the wrong way and not getting an answer, and this is for each infernal mob active o_O. It runs well now, with much smaller and fewer lag spikes.

So I tried that and it seemed better for a day or so, but today I was getting lag even worse than before that fix. I jumped on a chocobo and he would just stop in the middle of running every few seconds... And it's not FPS, because I was still able to look around just fine.

There is a bug in BetterStorage that causes a high usage loop to be entered if any chunk loads with any of the better storage items actively in use (reinforced chests, Armor stands, leather backpacks (not the ones for the backpacks mod), etc). I worked with copyboy and we found the issue. It is fixed in the 0.6.2.23-hotfix version he just put out. If you have these items in use, the server will spend about 25% of every tick cycle doing better storage stuff causing the server to lag like crazy. The more of the items you have, the more obvious it is and it can slowly creep up on you as you add chests and stuff until you suddenly realize your server is slow and nothing you do seems to help. Doing a restart only helps for a little while and then things go downhill as soon as some chunks with those items get loaded in.

Now we just need to get that hotfix into Hexxit so it can be updated and people can use these items.
