Let's Test Tekkit 1.1.6!

it's been updated in recent Tekkit versions (1.1.5 and later); I'm not clear on how the new Linking Book works at this point.

Yeah, the Wiki shows it as just placing a standard book in the crafting table (http://wiki.technicpack.net/Linking_Book) But I've been unable to get that to work.

The wiki is current as of 1.0.6. Some updates have been made to it, but since 1.0.6 is still Recommended it's a balance between which version to reflect on the wiki.

You have to create a linking page (inkwell I think), and a blank book (binder?). Gives you an unlinked linking book, which you can right click to set location.

The cool part is that you can get modified Linkbooks in survival. For example, I've heard you can chuck gold dust into your ink for a pretty good chance at an Intra-Linking page.

Has anyone been able to craft the Linking Book (http://wiki.technicpack.net/Linking_Book) with Mystcraft? Placing a book in the crafting table does not result in a linking book being made for me.

I have been able to craft them. It is not a bug but an update of the mystcraft version. You now need to create an inkwell. The inkwell makes linking panels as well as allowing the special books that you used to have to have a link modifier to make. Then you just combine a linking panel with a piece of leather to make an unbound linking book. Hold an unbound linking book in your hand and right click to make a linking book for the place you are standing.
