cafcforever Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Looking for Ardite and Cobalt and wondered is it better to cave in the nether to find these as they seem be hard to find on the surface or what areas should i look at
Moderators Munaus Posted April 8, 2014 Moderators Posted April 8, 2014 Flying around the area has found me more of them than mining on a spot, so yeah, on the surface
Kalbintion Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Branch mining can also prove to be effective when using a Hammer, but the surface + flying is the best way.
wabajck Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Personally I use netherrack to make lava and fuel my dynamos so I just go strip mining. I found a decent amount of each of the ores while doing this. Flying around found me mostly just ardite. To find the cobalt I always have to dig a little.
Kalbintion Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Lava generation I prefer blaze rods in a magma crucible and a lava fabricator, hardly ever had the need to dig for Cobalt (though it is more rare than ardite) through any amount of netherrack and really only mine netherrack in the event im clearing an area for something or am attempting to make a path, etc.
cafcforever Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 i just been about flying round getting lost as usual in the nether no 1 told my world cobalt was rarer then ardite lol i had 55 cobalt and 26 ardite lol thanks for the help guys
Loader Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I have the same thing, cafc - other players on my server (in very different places) have the opposite thing. I think some people, maybe including us, spot the blue very easily (or struggle to see the yellow) compared with others.
