GravityTnt Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) I need help with my modpack. It is called Gravity Miners on Technic Platform. It used to work until I added chocolate quest, aka Butter dungeons. I added other mods but I think the main problem is Better Dungeons. Here is the download to my modpack If you wanna look through it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/avbarnd3y2skhdu/GravityMiners.zip?dl=1 I think this is the API URL: http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/gravity-miners Edited August 6, 2014 by GravityTnt
GravityTnt Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 (by the way im new here so if i posted it in the wrong place, please inform me)
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 6, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 6, 2014 It is better to provide a link to your Technic pack page or (preferably) your API URL. Please edit your original post to include that. It is vital that you include a full compliment of config files with your pack. Even when there are no ID conflicts (you dodged a bullet there, very uncommon) they configs are still required for balancing mod interaction, controlling ore/fluid/world generation, balancing power production, managing microblocks, etc. Your pack contains Millenaire mod. That mod author can't be bothered to properly package his mod and it is notorious for not properly extracting on client packs. The zip you provided works fine, but that is using WinZip (or 7zip) which uses a different ZIP engine than the one built into MC. Once you provide a link to your API URL I'll take another look to see if that might be causing you trouble. You have outdated versions of some major mods which desperately need updated: CoFHCore/ThermalExpansion and Galacticraft to name two. Your version of Galacticraft and GalacticraftPlanets does not match your version of MicdoodleCore. This is "bad". You have the TConstruct_Library in your mods folder. This should be removed.
GravityTnt Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 "Error unzipping a file for the following modpack: Gravity Miners IllegalArgumentException while parsing through the next element Please consult the modpack author." I'm the modpack author and I'm still confused. I did everything you said.
GravityTnt Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 I'm starting to think I should compress the millianaire mod. Should I? That's what I think it's saying. If so, do I have compress the folder labeled 1.6.4?
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 7, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 7, 2014 Your version of Thermal Expansion (3.0.0.b2) does not match your version of its dependency library CoFHCore (2.0.0.5) Don't copy mods from other modpacks. Read this:
GravityTnt Posted August 7, 2014 Author Posted August 7, 2014 It still isn't working and I did everything you said. I removed thermal energy because I decided I didn't need it. If you want to look through the edited package please use the same download link for gravity miners and redownload it. :/
GravityTnt Posted August 7, 2014 Author Posted August 7, 2014 It all works when I install forge and put the mods in, but when I put it in the modpack and reupload it then it gives me: "Error unzipping a file for the following modpack: Gravity Miners IllegalArgumentException while parsing through the next element Please consult the modpack author."
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 7, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 7, 2014 As I mentioned before, millenaire mod does something "funky" with their filenames which makes the zip extractor built into MC die. I don't know if they do it on purpose or it is due to them not understanding how to package a mod properly but that is the source of your problems. Unfortunately I don't have time this evening to figure out exactly which file is messing things up as the technic log isn't providing enough information. If you are still having trouble tomorrow I'll check it out then.
GravityTnt Posted August 7, 2014 Author Posted August 7, 2014 Alright thank you so much for your help
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 7, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 7, 2014 After downloading Millenaire mod from the author's website, removing the existing millenaire folders from the pack, installing the new folders from the new download and re-building the pack I was able to successfully get the launcher to work with your pack.
jominer247 Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Better dungeons lags to an extent - I don't reccomend using it, especially if you're planning on running a server with it, it causes alot of lag and unstability.
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 8, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 8, 2014 @jominer247: I have it on one of my custom 1.6.4 packs along with some other fairly heavy mods and have never had an issue with it.
GravityTnt Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 So I should try redownloading millenaire? Ok thanks it's late in California and I'm guessing you "plowmanplow" is from the east because you said he'd look into it later since it was in the evening but here it was midday anyway... This kinda awkward talking in 1 and 3 person so...
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 8, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 8, 2014 Yes, download the latest 1.6.4 version from the author's website and re-integrate it into your pack after removing your existing version.
GravityTnt Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Thanks my pack is working. Edited August 8, 2014 by GravityTnt
