gurran Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Error downloading file for the following pack: Currently Something Special Failed to download http://downloads.twprogrammers.com/CurrentlySomethingSpecial.zip Please consult the modpack author. I searched this and found several posts, but all of them were using dropbox. I'm obviously not using dropbox. I'm using my site. I went to my URL and it downloaded as expected, so it's not a problem with it existing or not. I also noticed that the launcher said it was downloading "just-something-special-0.1.zip" and I am wondering what it is trying to download... Modpack Zip URL: http://downloads.twprogrammers.com/CurrentlySomethingSpecial.zip Details URL: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/just-something-special.456170 Platform URL: http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/just-something-special P.S.: It was not working before renaming it from "Just Something Special" to "Currently Something Special" P.S. 2: How do I stop auto-linking? Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 17, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 The launcher will rename your download to "slugname-version.zip". You have a 1.6.2 version of ReiMinimap instead of the 1.6.4 version. You have no config files in your modpack archive. This is always bad. This post has come information about config files: Other than that is looks okay. Quote
gurran Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) The launcher will rename your download to "slugname-version.zip". You have a 1.6.2 version of ReiMinimap instead of the 1.6.4 version. You have no config files in your modpack archive. This is always bad. This post has come information about config files: Other than that is looks okay. OK, I completely re-did everything, fixing the things you stated. Here's the new URLs: Platform: http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/currently-something-special Details: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/currently-something-special.458530 Modpack: http://downloads.twprogrammers.com/currently-something-special-0.1.zip However I get the same thing, just with the new URLs. It even said "downloading currently-something-special-0.1.zip", but as you said it rewrites it. UPDATE: I opened the modpacks folder (%appdata%.technicmodpacks) and found that it had a 'currently-something-special' folder. I entered it and found the standard folders (mods, bin, coremods, ect.) and they were all empty, along with a non-empty 'cache' folder. It had the perfectly intact zip in it. I even MD5 summed it and compared with the one on my PC and they were identical. This has me baffled. What am I doing wrong to cause this? Edited August 18, 2014 by gurran Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 18, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) You should not include the modsrei_minimap folder or its contents in your modpack archive. It will overwrite local client's key mappings and waypoints. The files "ThermalExpansion.recipes" and "vanilla.recipes" in the mods folder belong in the configmachinemuserecipes folder. What are you using to create the modpack archive? Your ZIP archive is 38,284,251 bytes in size. When I simply extract the file (using WinZip-14) and then create a new ZIP archive with the contents my file is 38,031,256 bytes in size. If I replace your ZIP archive with mine in the cache folder the pack extracts and launches just fine. If you have an option when making the ZIP archive you should always choose "legacy compression" to ensure compatibility. Also, I award you 1000 "awesome points" for doing an MD5 sum comparison on the files Edited August 18, 2014 by plowmanplow gurran 1 Quote
gurran Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) That explains a lot. ._. I use PeaZip, a front end for 7-zip, with heavy duty compression... Lemme re-do the archive with a more standard compression algorithm. And thanks for the "awesome points" :-) along with your time helping me. I will update this post after I re-archive it. UPDATE: Sure enough... It didn't like the PPMd algorithm... I switched to Deflate and it worked like a charm! Again, thank you for your time! Edited August 18, 2014 by gurran Quote
