  1. Ahh, so helpful. Thanks to <name redacted> for demonstrating that I had neglected to ban placement of the Cannon. Helping to make a better community (for other people since he's now banned, of course). Also, we now have a Christmas tree with actual presents...
  2. CircleCraft is a family of servers with a diverse but welcoming community. We have folks of all ages and from all walks of life. Stroll on by and check the place out. If you like what you see then stay a while and enjoy yourself. Servers: We have multiple servers with linked chats to help keep the community together regardless of which server players choose to inhabit. The TekkitLite server is sort of our "hub". Tekkit Lite Server: tekkitlite.circlecraft.info DatPackRedux Server: datpack.circlecraft.info (Custom Pack) Tekkit Legends Server: legends.circlecraft.info Website: www.circlecraft.info Features: Only DD completely removed Mining age for environmental friendliness and Overworld safety. MCPC+ Starting kit with tools and food Major Plugins: Essentials, GriefPrevention, Lockette, LoginSecurity, PorteCoulissante & RetractableBridge, TekkitCustomizer Multiple ranks with increasing rights and privileges Unique "Titles" for particularly noteworthy achievements Rules: No griefing. Should be obvious, but for a general rule, if your grandmother would be disappointed with you after finding out what you did, you probably shouldn't do it. No asking for any rank over Veteran. Period. Keep chat friendly. Swearing should be limited to exclamations, not directed at anyone. Any exploitation of bugs or glitches will be dealt with harshly. More details available at spawn. Building: If you can see another player's base, ask them before building Nothing visually offensive (you know what I mean) Know your tech! Poorly designed systems or builds which may produce server lag will be dismantled. Feel free to build with others. However, if you trust someone on your claim and they subsequently take some of your stuff, that's going to be mostly on your head. If you have questions in game, don't hesitate to ask someone. We are trying to maintain a friendly experience and everyone participates as they can. Once you connect for the first time simple read over the panels at spawn. If everything seems to your liking just stroll on out to play. However, failure to heed the rules and information does not excuse you from the responsibility of following it. There are a couple towns and other locations of interest available on the warp board near spawn. Just because you don't see someone online doesn't mean they aren't there since the chats are linked so feel free to ask questions at any time. Feel free to post questions or comments in this thread about any of the servers.
  3. I maintain a server that has been running for quite some time now. A friendly and helpful community of folks. You are welcome to drop in and check the place out. Attendance has been a bit lower than normal the last couple weeks, for various reasons (holidays, busy with work, no active post on here advertising) but there is usually someone on. If you let me know what your in game name is (PM is fine) I can promote you so that you can play if no one of a rank which can promote is online when you show up. tekkitlite.circlecraft.info There's a fair amount of information at spawn with rules, plugin help, etc. that you really need to check out. Fairly typical stuff.
  4. You aren't combining the base Sphax textures properly with the mod textures. The mod textures get extracted into the same place you extracted the base textures. Your top level directory structure should look something like this: achievement anim appeng armor arrows art buildcraft chb codechicken color.properties com cpw ctm dan200 eloraam environment factorization font gfx gui how to update.txt ic2 img immibis item legal.txt logisticspipes misc mob myst omnitools openccsensors pack.png pack.txt particles.png powercrystals railcraft ReadME.txt renderpass.properties resources snyke7 terrain terrain.png thermalexpansion title Tweaks & Addons vswe wildGrass zipline
  5. Yes, doing this with CC would take all of 10 lines of LUA to accomplish.
  6. (since you are referring to my patch I might as well weigh in) 1) Download the Vanilla textures from bdcraft.net for MC 1.4.7 at either 128x or 64x 2) Download the Tekkit Lite patch at the same resolutio https://www.jaj.com/tekkitlite/SphaxTekkitLite64x_Mods.zip https://www.jaj.com/tekkitlite/SphaxTekkitLite128x_Mods.zip 3) Uncompress the zip from #1 to a folder 4) Uncompress the zip from #2 to the same folder 5) Go into the folder and zip up the contents to a new file. (all files/subfolders MUST be at the top level of the zip structure) 6) Copy/move the new zip file to your texturepacks folder for Tekkit Lite 7) Profit
  7. Dynmap is a dynamic, real-time map of your world(s). For Forge based servers you will want to use the latest mod based version for the version of MC you are running. MCPC+ is a CraftBukkit provider. It allows you to add Bukkit plugins to your server. This can be important if you want to add features which enhance multi-player or provide protections from players doing things they shouldn't. These are some of the plugins I use: CoreProtect - provides block logging so I can see who placed/broke certain blocks. Essentials - provides many commands and features friendly for multi-player such as homes, kits, teleporting, etc. GriefPrevention - Allows players to make "claims" which protect their builds/blocks from other players. Lockette - Another protection plugin I use to provide protection of certain blocks in Mystcraft ages since GriefPrevention doesn't work in them. LoginSecurity - A login password plugin to help protect against the well known exploit all 1.4.7 servers are vulnerable to. PermissionsEx - My permissions plugin. Allows me to make ranks/groups for players with different privileges (Admin, Moderator, Helper, Veteran, Player, Guest). TekkitCustomizer - Provides a mechanism to restrict use of certain blocks and items to certain groups. WorldBorder - Make a maximum distance from spawn players are permitted to travel. WorldEdit - Allows you to easily "edit" areas of the world. WorldGuard - Another protection plugin that allows you to restrict certain features and make changes to rules in defined areas. These of course need some significant configuration to be effective, but work fairly well once you have done so. If you would like a demonstration you can log into my server. 8. I have between 10 and 15 people online at once during busy times, from a pool of about 50 active people. I even permit quarries in a Mystcraft age and I don't have problems with performance even after days of uptime on the server. 3G allocated to TekkitLite out of 8G server memory. Server never drops below 20 TPS. TekkitLite Latest MCPC+ Legacy 1.4.7 Dynmap CoreProtect, GriefPrevention, Lockette, Essentials (and a few other simple plugins) I know it is just an anecdotal reference, but there it is.
  9. The numbers for BC Quarries are quite well established. Straight from the wiki:
  10. Some odd observations with the latest MCPC+ and BuildCraft: - Fillers don't work at all unless [[buildCraft]] is OP even if other permissions/trusts/etc. are established. I have the GriefPrevention plugin, but even outside of claims it doesn't make a difference. - Quarries ignore all permissions/trusts/claims/etc. regardless if [[buildCraft]] has OP or perms. Any suggestions or advice in dealing with this? Making [[buildCraft]] OP isn't a big deal since Fillers respect claims, but with Quarries completely ignoring everything, it's kind of a problem. Thanks for any help. I've done some searching, but not yielded much results.
  11. Don't worry folks. I'll have it back up shortly. There are plenty of backups. As sad as it may sound, Green said it correctly when he said that nothing, when given enough time and or focus is unhackable. I've been dealing with this in one form or another for decades at this point. The best we can do is stick together as a group and weather the storm. Sure, I'll do what I can to keep it from happening, but I also don't want to seem like I'm throwing down the gauntlet. I'm not. Because we are using software and systems made by others we don't have alternatives for providing the services we want and therefore cannot go to a better/different product. Hopefully some enterprising person or group will figure out how the authentication system is being compromised and provide a fix. Y'all are great and we appreciate you sticking around! I'm taking the opportunity of it being down at the moment to increase the disk space allocation. Back in businesss asap. And please, don't egg anyone on. Belittling anyone, whether it be MC or life in general, seldom yields positive results. Whether these griefers are writing code to perform the hacks, or simply using someone else's tools or techniques makes little difference. Just give a nod the the effort involved, tip your hat as you pass, and move on down the boardwalk.
  12. Looks like we are going to try running a TekkitLite server while we work on getting something fancier up and running (probably JacksonCraft). Everyone is welcome back. Rules are mostly the same.
  13. There is a temporary tekkit lite server on the old address "tekkitlite.circlecraft.info" just to assure folks that we still exist. I think we are going to focus on getting the New Tekkit server up first, then we'll see about JacksonCraft. JC will take a bit longer because there are SO MANY mods and items that getting everything we can to be grief protected is more of a challenge.
  14. Solid props to Ally for starting up the server and building a community of folks who love to play, help, and hang with each other. Could never thank her enough. I have some resources floating around and would like to have a place where folks can hang out again. So, a question to contemplate is what kind of server would y'all like to play on? The two easy options are: The New Tekkit (TekkitMain) Easy to use. Would just select Tekkit instead of Tekkit Lite from the launcher Fairly current with available mods. Quite fun to play JacksonCraft (custom pack by me) Slightly more resource intensive All of what is in the new Tekkit plus IC2, Railcraft, Forestry, ExtraBiomesXL and many more Still fairly simple, but requires clicking the "Add Pack" button in the launcher and pasting in a pack URL Thoughts?
  15. @CharlieChop: Might be slightly off topic, but just a question. Was your AE system at 200 Units/t or 200 MJ/t? The "units" displayed in the ME Controller need to be divided by 5 if powered by MJ so it would claim 1000 units/t of consumption to be at 200 MJ/t. No criticism at all and all joking aside I would LOVE to see a massive AE setup that was using that much juice. Sweet delicious ME networks! :)
  16. Redstone conduits have a HUGE limit (bigger than anything I've tried). Redstone energy cells have a 100 MJ/t limit on each side, but you can use any combination of in/out on different sides for a total of 600 MJ/t.
  17. That does indeed look like 768 MJ/t. A few things to keep in mind: 1) For the love of all that's holy, never use waterproof pipes. Use liquiducts. 2) Redstone Energy Conduit has a max carrying capacity of 500 MJ/t. This cannot be changed by config. 3) Energy Tesseract default = 100 MJ/t max transfer and 20% loss. This can be changed by config 4) MFR Laser Drill can eat a TON of power if you want something to use it on. 5) Fuel is MUCH more efficient than lava. 1 bucket of lava = 18000 MJ. 1 bucket of fuel = 600000 MJ (just a thought)
  18. Right at the error at the bottom of both "Part 2". 2013-09-01 14:06:13 [iNFO] [sTDERR] java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space Any time you start adding mods to a pack that is already pushing the limits on size you will need to increase PermGen size on both the server and the client. The client is easy, you just have to check the box to increase PermGen in the launcher settings. For the server, you need to add this to your command line: -XX:MaxPermSize=128m That should be enough to run a TON of extra mods.
  19. The root platform folder. For example, Tekkit is %appdata%/.technic/tekkitmain
  20. I installed both. Had no problems. Check your forge logs.
  21. Normal lightning? That isn't a texture pack thing.
  22. Some textures are in odd and multiple locations. Try looking in the mods themselves to see where they store their textures so you know where to reference the patched files.
  23. In the current version of BC, conductive pipes are actually half-way decent. They no longer run a risk of blowing up, have set power ratings, and resolve their own loops. Sure, Redstone Energy Conduits are better in almost all regards, but the 3.7.x BC conductives don't do too bad.
  24. @AprilElyse : If that is the case, I recommend just grabbing the full patch and picking/choosing from that. There are likely updates and fixes in that which aren't available in a lot of the individual threads. I have done a fair amount of massaging to the individual mod patches due to version changes and lots of different people contributing like in MFR.
  25. Or one could make the energy loss 5% to match the loss through Phased pipes. It is my understanding that the server resources necessary to manage BC pipes vs. RS Energy Conduits drastically favors the conduits. IMO, 25% (which is now 20% by default) is ludicrously high.
