After some serious testing and some serious editing and configuration modifications. The official Magical Divination server is up and running. The Magical Divination thread is here: >Magical Divination Thread (1.7.10) So feel free to have a look at it so you can know what to expect on this server. This server is a PvE Server that uses both Plugins and Mods. Because Magical Divination is a Modpack about Exploration and Survival one may find themselves far away from home, stranded. This is where the Web Store comes into play. Magical Divination is linked to the Nerd Storm Production Website and has a store that can sell you basic necessities for survival using the server's in-game currency system. Some other neat features: HQM Installed - New Quests are added constantly and are pushed to the server and don't require a client update. (Be mindful Hardcore Mode is NOT enabled, just the questing portion) CustomNPCs - can give you quests and tasks to complete. GriefPrevention - claim your own plot of land that you decide to call home from when you are weary of travel Much more that really can't all be listed in a server thread (check out the main modpack thread for more info) Rules of the Server: - No Griefing people's work (there is a grief plugin installed that you will learn more about when logging in) - White-list Only (apply for white-list in this thread) - Enjoy the Server Disclaimer: Please keep in mind this is NOT an easy pack/server to survive in. This pack was designed specifically to challenge the player in survival. So complaining and raging that you are always dieing is the intended result. This pack has no Tech mods in it. This pack is purely magic, exploration, survival. The server is configured to give you a hard time and is configured to "find" players and create events around them to add to the challenge. Even within the safety of your "home." The server "punishes" the stationary. If you simply play minecraft for building and technology then this is NOT the server for you. Portal Page and Server Status: http://mcserver.nerdstormproduction.com White-List Application: This is a white-list server only. In order to play on the server you need to be approved. To get approved you must fill out the white-list application. Very simply here are the fields: IGN: Age: Random Fact About You?: Why You Want To Join: What other games do you enjoy?: What Experience in Minecrat Mods Do You Have: Any Comments/Questions About the Server or Anything?: Main Minecraft Nerd Storm Production Website: Nerd Storm Production - Minecraft

Alright, this is kind of an odd "report" i guess you can say. But I dont think it is a bugtracker report because I am not sure it is a bug. The technic launcher is halving all of my allocated memory. Yeah....exactly how it sounds. And I can provide screen shots if needed. But basically if I set the launcher to allocate say 4Gigs to Minecraft, in actual minecraft it will only have actually allocated 2 gig. (as can be seen via F3). So....now I am a pretty meticulous guy and do a lot of testing so I can for sure say it is doing that. Despite that I think I know what the issue is so hopefully it can help someone tell me how to fix this. This never happened before and I have been using the launcher since forever. So naturally as a good tester/problem solver I backtracked everything that I have done up until the point that the launcher started doing this. Low and behold...I just upgraded my ram a few days ago. My computer originally had 8G of RAM and now has 16. So it would seem the Launcher (OR JAVA) still thinks I have 8G but Windows knows I have 16 and detects 16. So the question now becomes is this a launcher issue or is this a java issue? Java is running the latest version Java8 update 31, however this was installed back when the PC had 8G of Ram. Is it possible I need to reinstall Java so it detects I now have 16? Or maybe I need to reinstall the technic launcher so it "learns" that I have 16? Or perhaps I have to change an environment variable (and if so how?) somewhere so that Java "learns" I now have 16G of Ram. Anyone have a suggestion/solution? For now I basically have to allocate double of what I want to allocate via the launcher. So if I want to allocate 4G of Ram I have to set the launcher to allocate 8.

[1.7.10] ♠ Magical Divination - Where's Your Sense of Adventure ♠
HalestormXV replied to HalestormXV's topic in Platform Potluck
Updated to version 1.0.6 - Crimson Build - Added more quests to HQM - Server files accurate and working - Official Server up and running - Implementation of WebStore - Re-Tweaked some configurations - Updated EnvironMine to latest stable - Updated Ender Expansion to latest stable - Re-enabled earthquakes. (Experimental) - Custom Music Records Added That's right. The crimson build brings the SMP that I said was available and in early testing stages during initial release in the teaser video. So Magical Divination now has a server that is whitelist only that you must apply for. I will also upload the server files for those that may want to try and make a Magical Divination server. You can apply for the white-list in the server thread I will be making as I want to stay within the forum rules and leave this specifically for discussion/updates relating to the modpack. Magical Divination Magical Divination is a non-tech modpack created by Nerd Storm Production. It focuses strictly on Adventure and Magic. There are a variety of changes made to the actual mechanics of Minecraft that make this pack quite the challenge. This pack is NOT for the feint of heart. This pack is for those that thirst for adventure and exploration. The pack used Solder integration so updating is not an issue and will be fairly quick after the initial download. All mods within the pack are at the current stable (if not better) releases of the mods contained within. If there are issues with the mods I will provide what help I can but more than likely it is a problem with the mod itself. This mod has been tested on both SMP and Single Player and works without issue. The pack offers a questing system as well as enhanced NPC Villages. The Modpack also contains a variety of terrain generation mods that will reward your exploration with various dungeons and towers that contain loot. The modpack has been configured to allow loot from these special chests to contain some otherwise unobtainable items from other mods. Magical Divination also contains a survival system. You must maintain your health and be careful while traveling in darkness. There is no telling what terrible creatures lurk in the night. Players will also come across events that can and will create an even larger challenge. Do you have what it takes to embark on this epic adventure of Magic and Exploration? Do you think you can survive the creatures of the night? Try for yourself and see. But wait there's more....Magical Divination is completely compatible with SMP. So perhaps you want to embark on an adventure with some friends. (This post will be edited with a server pack as well as an official Magical Divination Whitelist Only Server) TEASER VIDEO DISCLAIMER All mods in this pack belong to their rightful owners. [SOLDER] Look's like we've hit a snag!
HalestormXV replied to HalestormXV's topic in Platform Pagoda
Yeah it happens every once and a while. After about 45 minutes to an hour it clears up. My packs still run and they still link to my repo. IE. I can still download and reinstall them etc. I just can't access my dashboard. Its just a strange error that pops up every once and a while but oddly usually on the weekend. Its not a major issue (unless it doesn't fix itself lol) but it is something I can inquiry on IRC about. However after about an hour or so it begins working just fine. And I have had no issues at all. So I know it isn't my install. -
I have been getting this error while trying to log into my Solder Dashboard for about the last 40 minutes. I just want to confirm this is not an issue with the install correct? This is a github issue with whatever code I imagine in the dashboard that solder is linked too correct? As per this error at the bottom of the page: 500 You have reached GitHub hour limit! Actual limit is: 5000
-
First situation was resolved. Thanks for the tip. I rebooted my entire Linux system since I made some other kernal changes and java environment changes. Restarted the Multicraft Daemon and the log started to auto-populate itself no problem. All that is left is issue two which I just can't seem to figure out. I mean if it wasn't showing up at all then it is different. What boggles my mind is that it shows up for a second and then disappears.
-
Alright so i purchased a copy of multicraft for my dedicated box. I have my server installed on it and installed multicraft. Everything is perfect. Not a single issue......almost. I have two questions. 1) I accidentally deleted my multicraft.log file (i thought i was in my backup directory) and its gone. So I recreated it however it doesn't populate. Any idea how to fix? 2) I cannot for the life of my get the System Resources bars to show up. They are configured to show up, they are configured to be activated and they pop up momentarily when I am starting my server and then disappear. I have no idea why. I did read this: http://www.multicraft.org/site/docs?view=troubleshooting#23 however that is not my issue. It's not that it doesn't display, its that it is there for a second when I am starting up my server and then disappears. And before I accidentally deleted my log i would check it and there were no errors. Anyone have any tips/fixes for this? I will probably go over to multicraft and seek out support there if necessary. But we are all pretty knowledgeable folk for the most part, so I figured i'd ask here first.

Can't Read the Crashlog, Want to Learn - Single Player Crashing
HalestormXV replied to HalestormXV's topic in Platform Pagoda
Alright, well it appears my hunch was correct. The error was originating from Aether II and although renaming Aether II to zAether corrected the world generation/load issue it did not correct the issue once you loaded into the Aether world. Now I am aware that Aether is still in alpha and that was too be expected and it doesn't help when you add in all the other mods that add creatures into the game that are in this particular pack lol. However, I am glad I managed to find the root of the problem and see that the error log being thrown was indeed not a normal one. -
Can't Read the Crashlog, Want to Learn - Single Player Crashing
HalestormXV replied to HalestormXV's topic in Platform Pagoda
Interesting. In doing some testing I have come across some odd results. I have generated a new world and as expected it crashed on load. I attempted to enter into the world 3 separate times and all three times it crashed with the same error. However, I then decided to rename aether to zaether in an attempt to change the load order and i was able to log into my world 3 consecutive times. This does require more testing but could the load order have been a cause of the conflict? I am not sure if that still applies in 1.7.10. And by the way I do appreciate your response plowman I am always open to learning. -
I hereby crown you Solder Pack Guru lol. Your work is awesome. I will test this out today on my arrival back home and edit this post with my findings although I already know they will be glorious as always. Thank you once again and job well done. EDIT: As I said I would, I have tested this quite a few times and it works flawlessly thus far. Thank you.

Can't Read the Crashlog, Want to Learn - Single Player Crashing
HalestormXV replied to HalestormXV's topic in Platform Pagoda
Alright, well that makes sense then. I knew it must have had something to do with the mob adding mods. So its a trial and error test then so it seems. My gut tells me Aether II, only beacuse this error occured when I had Millenair and then stopped occurring when I took it out, but now I put Aether II in and it happens again. Although as far as I thought Aether II only does stuff in its own dimension but regardless that doesn't matter as I will have to thoroughly test anyway to be sure. Now another question I have is as follows: this crash as you said is related to vanilla classes and mods not executing spawn code correctly thus causing the client crash. So my question becomes, does this error not occur on my SMP server because it is handled differently, perhaps more efficiently, or something else? Or is the better statement to make: "This error has not YET occurred on my SMP server and most likely will at one point or another if whatever mod is causing this tries to execute spawn code again." -
Alright, so I put together a single player pack for myself. The pack adds a lot of custom spawns. The pack also has all mods updated to 1.7.10 (as far as I can tell although some say 1.7.2 but are ones that i believe are backwards compatible, regardless all were obtained from their official threads that said 1.7.10) and runs fine on my Multi player server that I play alone on. I like the Multiplayer Server much better then SinglePlayer. I have run into this issue that ONLY occurs on my Single Player world. I have generated a fresh new single player world by the way so it is not an old world. The server crashes with a client side crash. Now mind you this only happens on single player, NOT on my SMP world. I don't think it'd be possible that a mod is incompatible on single-player lol, right? Anyway here is the crashlog. But I can't read it and would like to learn how to read it so I can interpret where these problems are originating from. So if anyone can shed some light on what the issue causing my crash would be I would appreciate it. But please don't just say "Aether II crashes your world and isn't compatible with X mod." Please just try and explain how you found out it was Aether II or Xenos Reliquary, etc. and how you arrived at the conclusion that it was incompatible with X mod. Like I said, I don't want to just blab about my pack crashing, I would like to learn how to interpret these crash logs. Some of them I can understand but this particular one I can't. Here is the crash log: http://pastebin.com/dP2hzWkG

Tested out the new Get Permissions button on my actual modpack folder and it works like a charm. Only thing I noticed is it will only generate the open permissions, it won't generate ones that require permission or even if it can't find permissions perhaps an "Unknown" status unlike when you are actually creating the pack and it says to provide a link to the permissions. But I do see lables in the PermLevels.cs file (Unless of course every mod in my pack has open permissions, which I'm fairly certain isn't the case because i know some require that you have the permissions/notify them it is in a modpack) IE: OpenMods(OpenMods) by Mikeemoo At http://www.openblocks.info/ Permissions are Unknown (if the system just doesn't know what the permissions are) Permissions are Required (if the mod-author states you need permissions) Is that intentional or was that an oversight? Either way even if it was intentional, I don't mind cross-referencing so THANK YOU so damn much lol!!!!!!
-
Hey Zlepper, I apologize if i missed this somewhere earlier in the thread but is their currently a way to extract the permissions only? For example I created a mod pack and deleted the permissions lol. But all the mods uploaded and installed into Solder no problem. So I just wanted to know if there was a way or might I suggest a way to go into "Permission Mode" so that when you browse to a directory where the mods are located you simply click a "Fetch Permissions" button and all that will happen is it will generate a list of permissions for the mods you have in that above mentioned directory. Like I said, this might already be possible and I just never noticed it. But I wanted to ask/suggest it.

So I went to install my modpack today on another computer. Here is the link to the private modpack: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/magicaldivinationnsp.590455 As you can see it is a valid modpack. Now when I put that into the launcher search engine I get "Horse Mod"? Now the odder part, it was working just fine about 6 hours ago and I haven't been around to touch anything or play with anything. So clearly it is an API bug (not on my end), but does anyone have any thoughts on how to resolve it? All my other Solder packs work swimmingly, so I know for fact it is not my api or my configurations. And when you put it into the launcher search, my image comes up, my background comes up, my icon and everything. But what on earth is Horse Mod? EDIT: We have upgraded. Upon a launcher restart my pack with the same API link to install it has transformed into Legacy lol. Perhaps they are hiccups in the API again like lat night? In which case it is just a waiting game, but you can only imagine my reaction when I saw that. Not going to like I did some LOLing EDIT 2: Must've been a hiccup in the API because everything seems to be working again. I'll mark this up as solved. Any mod please close.

Yeah I did actually, but to no avail. (I attempted on 1291) I am beginning to wonder if default forge does not allow you to do it. Perhaps a shell script that could truncate it that runs on a cron job then saves the file without deleting it? This way the new data will get written into it instead of looking for it. (as I do have root access to my VPS)
-
I don't mean this to be a negative bump and I do apologize for bumping it, but does anyone have any solutions?
-
Oh my, those OVH' packages seem quite nice. Wow. I might lease one out for a month just to try it out.
-
No offence taken. I actually run three servers atm. One on a VPS. An two on MC Gamerserver packages (I.E. BeastNode). I am simply looking for a way to run three servers still but consolidated and on one plan. Perhaps I am not being clear or am just not understanding. With 3 Game servers I have no root access, so I cannot create different directories, or run a website (linked specifically to that server, of course I could always use a 3rd part webhost company), and things of that nature. Essentially by running with a GameServer I am an Administrator and not an owner/leasee and thus am restricted with what I can do. On the other hand, with my current VPS I have full root access. That is what I use to run my solder repo, various scripts, did an installation of LAMP, etc. Unfortunately that VPS is restricted to 4GB. With my VPS I also run a server on my it and have total control over it. I have created various shell scripts for autobackup, restarters, crash detectors, an optimized launcher, etc. Various thing that normally come inherent in purchasing a GameServer. I am allowed to do this (the consumer is allowed to do this) because I own the VPS, or in some cases, that portion of the VPS and have root access to it. What I am looking for is a way to consolidate. Perhaps have one good solid VPS (like the link above) or one Dedicated Box on one bill with multiple servers. Granted I may need to purchase more IPs or whathaveyou and assign the different servers to different IPs (for example my current VPS box has two IP addresses, so theoretically I could run two servers off of it) even though they are running off the same box, but I am not at that stage yet. I am just looking for a good hosting plan in general that is affordable. And perhaps this thread would be able to compile a list of good Hosting companies. I am not sure what you mean by running into issues with the law along with hijacked servers. Perhaps I am misunderstanding terms or just mis-communicating in general.
-
I should have been more precise. Yes I am just curious to know if anyone is aware of some decent well priced hosts for servers to run minecraft so people can connect and play. I know dedicated boxes can be quite expensive but they also are the best on the tier. As you stated with enough ram and it (minecraft) being single threaded you can probably run a few servers. No I'm not really looking to buy multiple packages from a hosting company as that would be overly expensive. I figured VPS would be the best bet because you can easily create multiple directories with different installs of your server and just run them, or am I wrong in thinking that? (Naturally you would have to adjust the ports most likely since multiple servers cannot run on the same port.) I assumed a VPS would be a nice starting point as it is cheaper then most dedicated boxes granted its limitations. Some VPS services can offer you 8GB of RAM with an 8 core possessor as depicted here: https://demonvps.com/ssd-vps-hosting/ However, a dedicated box for a decent price is always nice also. As for my location I am in the Americas and a budget I am looking for is around 60 - 180 a month. Preferably I would like a package plan so I could pay semi-annually or annually etc.
-
Im just making a post here to cheer you on Zlepper. The software keeps getting better and better and I give you my gratitude. It has made making packs worlds easier. I salute you and keep up the amazing work!
-
Anyone have a list of some nice and decent hosts. Even if you have a referral code. I'm looking for some nice Budget deals to run some modpack servers. (Yes with an S) ideally since I plan to have it be multi-server it would have to be a VPS/Dedicated. Preferably I'd like to start with a VPS since Dedicated can go for a decent penny. Now I know the list is HUGE. But that is why I am posting here because maybe this can become a sticky as a good point of reference for new server owners. Currently I am using BeastNode and they are awesome. But I like to test out the waters as well. And BeastNode's VPS package although REALLY nice priced, unfortunately caps at 4G. I am looking for I guess one would say more RAM thus being able to run multiple servers efficiently/effectively.
-
I am running the recommended 1.7.10 version of forge. 10.13.2.1230 to be precise, no modifications to forge itself, and directly from the forge repository on their site.
