  1. Water refuses to re-populate in chunks that don't have a player close by, even if that chunk is loaded by something else. I'm guessing you left the general area?
  2. The distance you describe, as piped, could be covered fairly easily by...4-5 (or fewer) world anchors. They handle sets of chunks, not single ones.
  3. Given that Flan's mods are dependent on ModLoaderMP, I find it unlikely Tekkit will see it soon, at least until after 1.3 is modded up (it may not be an issue then). Don't ask when that will be.
  4. You're in the wrong spot. However, I'll help: those mods are for 3.0.3 - you'll have to go back to the launcher window, clear your cache, and manually select 3.0.3 to play on that server, until it itself updates. Save your waypoints for that world if you have any you want to keep.
  5. Nope, no server needed for single-player. Have you tried adding an exception or disabling your AV during the download?
  6. It says it failed because it failed. You're not helping here. You just Googled it, or you actually added Java to the system path variable or the batch file you're using to run the launcher? These are things we need to know.
  7. It doesn't matter. There's no good reason to post again when you don't have anyone posting after you, unless you're speaking on two completely different topics or answering different questions, and even then, 1 post is enough.
  8. When was this? The minecraft.net auth servers have been down off and on for the last couple of days. Solutions for when that connection works again: - Make sure you have Java 7u5 64-bit, and only that. - Download the Linux/.jar version of the launcher. - Right-click on that and click "Run with Java" - Report any errors.
  9. It's completely different server software. Yes, you need a separate Tekkit server, if you want to run your own. If you just want to connect to other peoples' servers, you're fine with just the client. If you can't download the server software, put it somewhere, and run the batch file contained in it, I would seriously reconsider your ability to run and maintain a server, with the issues that typically come up while doing so.
  10. Install the .NET Framework, and see what happens. Versions 2, 3.5, and 3.5 SP1 for starters. Then restart. Then disable Norton while you're downloading.
  11. Hey. Guys. Over here. Even the 3.0.4 server is still available, and you can backdate your Tekkit client all the way to at least 2.1.0 if you can find a server that's running it. What's the issue? Oh, right, one bug report and then a chorus of "Me too! Me too! No one's answering!" News flash: if you can't get this one to work, it's unlikely anything's going to work for you. Make sure you have your Java install straight, a brand new launcher and new install of Tekkit, and you're version-matching the server. Then post your own separate bug reports. OP: You have a download failure, which is caused by either an antivirus or a firewall, and sometimes by a crappy internet connection. Is your antivirus really "talktalk" and if so, what is that? If not, what is it?
  12. You...didn't read the stickies, did you? There are several things wrong.
  13. <- Trying to decide whether to call troll or not.
  14. You do realize you're just taking a roundabout way of asking when it's going to be updated, right?
  15. You need the Tekkit server software, from this site. A normal Minecraft server (which is what's in your log) won't get you anywhere.
  16. I did not consider the materials cost in the efficiency numbers, and yes, HV cable is quite reasonably efficient for fairly high voltages. Even at just over 512, that same 24-block run would be 98% efficient. Your EV calc up there is off, btw = 2038/2048 is 99.5% efficient.
  17. This is a nice guide, and no offense is intended to you, but I don't trust sengir, especially with files that could potentially do whatever they wanted on my desktop. Take that for what it's worth.
  18. The server and/or clients are likely running in offline mode. That's the only reason I can think of that only one person would be able to log in at once.
  19. You...might want to try the search bar. It will not be returning. Ever.
  20. *Crunch* See? It all...*shove*...fits into...*cram*...1 post! Tip for Cedo: Use the Edit button. Please.
  21. AVG, for whatever reason (poor programming, probably), has been known to screw with the launcher's downloads. All the time. Even when it's off. I recommend removing it entirely. I have personally seen that fix several peoples' "can't download" issues.
  22. Negative. I have never had the launcher update without asking. Also, it does do an auto-backup. I'm not sure what all the crap is about. I misspoke up above...everyone has a backup - it just may be old if you updated some time ago and, say, started a new world to try some things out, enough so that you'd rather start a new one.
  23. Not that careful. Telling people off (without being abusive) is something they encourage here. You just can't command or threaten. That's all.
  24. Or, you know, not quite so gentle...
  25. That depends...are you also using a hacked MC client? Just...curious.
