  1. If you run the world in Tekkit, and explore beyond the boundaries of the world, it should load Tekkit ores and such. The issue you may have is with conflicting block IDs, depending on what structures are on the map, etc.
  2. You...paid...for AVG? Ouch. Yeah, that's most likely why. AVG does not like the launcher, and the feeling seems to be mutual.
  3. I suppose, but it would be sooo much cheaper to just put a nuke there instead.
  4. Backdate your copy of Technic to whatever you were using, and load your world backup? You're mad? Mod packs for Minecraft are not like other computer games. Updates usually break worlds.
  5. The CONFLICT items are normal, and those WARNING items you're getting are normal for a server's first startup. The Nether Ores issue can be fixed by making sure you're correctly using Java 7 to run the server.
  6. The new Technic launcher will allow you to install 3.1.1 just fine. You just have to select it manually.
  7. Deployers are from RedPower (so you'll need tubes and timers to go with them), Condensers are from Equivalent Exchange (so you can use RedPower tubes or BuildCraft pipes). I don't do tutorials.
  8. Well, the minecraft.net auth servers have been up and down for the last couple days. Try deleting your lastlogin and launcher.properties files, and running the launcher again. If that doesn't work, get an entirely new copy of the launcher.
  9. Your link is broken - you need the whole thing in there...wait, never mind, that's MCF. I can't believe I'd encourage a link to that. Anyway, is this for Tekkit, or the launcher trying to run Tekkit?
  10. There's a reason the Antivirus Program is one of those bits of info we request. It causes this, 8 or 9 times out of 10. You don't need to backdate your Minecraft, either. The launcher does it for you.
  11. Don't feed the dumb. They went off-topic because it's a horribly bad request for help in the wrong spot. At some point, you'd think the OP would realize that, but apparently I have to spell it out.
  12. If it was the old Recommended Build, with Thaumcraft 1, it was 6.0.7. If it was the newest dev build before 7.2, it was probably 7.1.0 - if neither of those work, you may be out of luck.
  13. How about the fact that you didn't say how they weren't working? It may be that they weren't craftable, that they weren't doing what they were supposed to for a variety of reasons, etc. If you provide more information, your problems are often far easier to diagnose.
  14. This amused me more than it should have. When in doubt, don't set your sheep on fire. Unlike some other animals, they don't drop cooked meat.

    What do you mean, "unless"?
  16. I stand corrected. Please continue.
  17. Ah, yes, that would have been good to say. Still, this was the wrong place for that...I'd have started a new thread. Anyway: NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3d Settings > Global Settings tab > Pick NVIDIA as preferred processor, Program Settings tab > add Java, Minecraft, and the launcher, and select the NVIDIA processor for those as well.
  18. Copy your world folder out, back up any config files you want to save, and wipe the server directory (making a backup of the whole thing isn't a horrible idea). Then unzip the server files into the new, clean directory, copy the world file back in, run the server, save and exit, and do the configuration as you wish. If that doesn't work, post here. Server files are still available on the Tekkit page for 3.0.4, fyi.
  19. Reinstall your client, or copy the sounds from .minecraft's resources folder. Those won't give you the IC2 sounds, of course, but I usually shut those off anyway to prevent brain damage. :)
  20. OP: Are you sure your server and client versions match?
  21. Go back and re-read in the bug report form, where it tells you how to get your log. It's either that, or it's in the COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS thread that nobody seems to like reading.
  22. You didn't put the quarry block inside the landmarks, did you?
  23. Each cable has an energy loss amount, which is rounded down. Insulated copper, for example, loses 1 EU/packet after the packet has gone through 5 cables. If you place an energy storage device every 5 blocks, then (with 4 cables in between), you lose nothing to cable losses. Glass fiber loses 1 EU/packet every 40 blocks' worth of cable. Voltage transformation doesn't lose or gain you anything, other than the ability to not melt certain cables or blow up certain machines. Generally, storage devices transmit EV (more than 512 EU/packet), HV (128+ to 512), MV (32+ to 128), and LV (5+ to 32). ELV is under 5, and that's the only thing tin cable will carry without melting. However, tin cable is just as efficient as glass fiber with extra-low voltages. So, HV cable can carry EV up to 2048 EU/packet (above that it's directly machine transfer only), glass fiber can carry up to 512 EU/packet, and so on down. The IndustrialCraft wiki is useful for general knowledge on such things. HV cable is extremely inefficient compared to glass fiber, but it's the only thing that can carry power out of a high-level nuclear reactor, for example. I personally will never use it, since it incurs such heavy losses, and you can just put an HV transformer directly next to the reactor.
  24. I suspect he's talking about the BuildCraft Mining Well, which as far as I'm concerned is useful for exactly one thing: making a BuildCraft Pump. Otherwise, they're useful in that they can be run off a redstone engine, and otherwise need nothing else, but they also leave mining pipes everywhere, and only mine one column at a time.
