  1. I'm having the same problem and I can't find any information on it.
  2. I'd love to see a pack like this too actually. I've been lurking for a while but I couldn't find anything. If your going to build your own pack, can I help. I don't know much about making a mod pack but I know how to cram shittons of mods together, that's a start right?
  3. Ziberoo is a robot and therefore part of the growing machine master-race. He is stronger and smarter then pathetic meat-bags and therefore should moderate the lower mud race flesh. Praise machine overlords! A new dawn is on the horizon. Burn all humans Burn them for delicious energy for new ZiberooTechâ„¢ AA batteries. Get them now at a synthetic dispensary marketplace near you!
  4. The hailstorm will be rolling in soon and I won't be able to save you. If you don't want to get kellered I strongly implore you to read what I'm about to tell you carefully and immediately act on it for your own benefit. -Before- you do anything else please read everything here. http://forums.technicpack.net/forums/global-rules.18/ After you do that you should realize why it is no one is going to help you in this post. To get the help you need please visit this page. http://forums.technicpack.net/forums/tekkit-classic-bugs.13/ In case you are too lazy to dear all of the rules or follow my advice I'm going to tell you what to do when you get there. (But if you don't read the rules your time here will be brief I can promise that.) Click submit a bug report. Add the information pertaining to -all- of the fields into your bug report. The more detail you submit and the more effort and time you put into the report the better and more efficiently we can all help you. It's a 2 sided thing, you need to work with us if you want us to work with you. It's both for your and our benefit. I'll look for the proper bug report you hopefully submit and I'll help you further assuming you provide all the information I need in there. Also I know criticism can be a little hard to take sometimes so let me end this on a positive note. Have a nice day, welcome to technic forums, and I hope I can provide you with some assistance soon =)
  5. I don't often post. When I do I usually reply to another thread. I try to generally keep all of my posts helpful. I have been using Technic long before it had it's own launcher. I've watched it evolve and grow. It was only a few months ago when FTB and Technic were essentially the same thing, and I thought to myself then "there going to become 2 completely different and amazing platforms" I was right, but I didn't think it would happen so quickly. I just wanted to give the Technic team props for all the shit they've done, for keeping this modpack alive and for shrugging off all the hate they get and still being able to grow and develop the pack into what it is today. You guys are amazing, and you can have my assnipples if you would like them. No no don't be modest. Here they are, please; those assnipples are yours to take. You've earned them.
  6. Wow! I never knew about this guide! This is really helpful, thank you!
  7. If you're going to do it yourself, like Lothos said, Newegg is a good place to go. Tigerdirect has a wide selection of parts as well at decent prices.

  9. http://www.diyseedbox.com/ Gonna be trying this soon. I got a nice deal on an old piece of shitty metal and thought I would give it a go!

There is probably a considerably easier way to go about doing it. I know technic doesn't condone the pirating of minecraft. Frankly I don't either, support your dev's kids. But pappa fidchelle needs his ratio!

Figure I would post something productive on here. Some IRL technic tinkering. I'll post my progress.

  10. This isn't entirely true, I mean he can't install a new video card and that is defiantly important, but there still might be some performance improving upgrades he can make to the metal. I'm on a laptop myself (Asus G60Vx) I take very good care of it and, my gaming performance isn't the best ever, If I built my own desktop (I would if I had the funds) I would most definitely get considerably more power out of it, but in my years of laptop gaming I have learned a few tricks to squeeze more life out of it. First of all. Max out that ram. No matter what you have (To reiterate what dragon said, ReadyBoost is -NOT- ram) maxing your ram out will be a big noticeable upgrade. However I should also mention it will not be as noticeable in gaming as it would in other day to day tasks. Ram is essentially the desk your processor puts shit on to work with before putting it away for safe keeping. The more ram you have the more shit you can run at once. Of course the reason ram is important for technic is because it uses Java. And Java needs huge amounts of ram to function. You only have a 32x motherboard so unfortunately you cant go over 4 gigs (I actually think it can only use 3.25 or something of that ram, do a little research and see the maximum ram you can handle.) If you had a 64 bit board you could probably, realistically handle something like 6 or 8 gigs, which for a game like minecraft is optimal (not the best but good) Now that your ram is maxed out, let's talk about that hard drive. You have a few options, and believe it or not this -can- drastically improve gaming. If your laptop has the capacity to hold 2 hard-drives (mine does, I am not sure about yours however. Most do not) Pick one of those slots to be your dedicated run time drive. Make sure whatever the capacity for that drive is, the hard-drive itself is a solid state. A solid state drive has no moving parts. They are generally more expensive then a regular drive, but they are faster and more reliable due to the simple fact it doesn't rely on moving parts, and can send and receive data more efficiently. On your solid state, do not put anything but your operating system and installed programs on this. In the second slot, put a large capacity hard-drive in there, and this second drive is where all of your files and folders will go. With everything being mounted on the solid state, your programs have a more efficient route to get to the processor and ram, and will load faster for it. If you don't have 2 slots, which is very likely then all you can do is replace the drive you have with a solid state at the highest capacity you can afford. It will still give you some improvements, although not as much as if you had a dedicated drive for only installed items. The machine is pre-built and more then likely you are not going to find anything but proprietary video cards that are compatible with its motherboard, but I still recommend looking up the specs for your motherboard and seeing if you have any other options available. It's very unlikely, and even if you do have options, be careful because a laptop is a pain in the ass to disassemble, and better video cards make more heat which a laptop has a difficult time dispersing efficiently. You can look into getting a processor upgrade too. I'm pretty sure it's going to be the same story as the video card. All in all, this is the best you can do upgrade wise at the moment with a pre-built machine. If you are low on budget (which I am) or if you don't mind having to fuss with settings to make something run better for your rig then I would go the option of upgrading. If you have a decent budget (you can make a nice gaming rig for under 500$, and you can make something bat-shit insane for under 1000$) If I knew everything I knew about computers when I bought this laptop like 3 years ago, I would have used my 2000$ to make a ridiculous murder-box of a gaming rig instead. Live and learn though. All in all a laptop has very few pros and quite a-lot of cons for gaming. Pros: 1. Its portable. 2. You can add peripheral devices to it in order to make it more functional for you. 3. It can be useful as a utility machine when not being used for gaming. Cons: 1. A laptop and laptop parts are more expensive then its bulkier desktop brother. 2. A laptop is difficult to keep cool, Even a decent gaming laptop will have heat issues. You will likely need to invest in a cooling dock to get anywhere. 3. I have rarely heard of anyone making a custom laptop from scratch. Most laptops run on manufactured proprietary parts, unlike desktop parts which tend to be a bit more compatible with one another. 4. You have very limited upgrade and expansion options once you purchase a laptop. When you buy the metal, you are generally stuck with it. There is nothing wrong with gaming on a laptop if you have to or prefer to, but if performance is your main goal, building yourself a nice desktop computer would be the more economical (more bang for your buck) and more efficient way to go. If you do ever decide to go with a desktop rig and need some help figuring out how to build one, give me a PM. I can help you get started. And have a nice day!
  11. Hey, we all need to vent every now and then. Try not to let the ignorance get to you though or you're only letting them win. I never quite understood the pseudo-political bullshit going on in the minecraft modding community right now. Every time I see people talking about minecraft, as if they were making a presidential speech I always think to myself "All this over a video game?" Either way you have my apologies for the CS banning incident but honestly, if you think about it; An admin that would ban you over something so trivial as what type of mod-pack for a game you play... He/she probably doesn't run a community you would enjoy anyway right? It's only speculation but I tend to judge a person based on actions.
  12. Name: fidchelle - Age: 22 (Happy birthday to me) - What do you wish to accomplish?:Create the servers greatest melon farm, build a shrine to the harvest goddess and make regular sacrifices to her. - Have you played IC2 or buildcraft?: I play all the time. I've been playing technic before the new launcher came out. - what is the purpose of a macerator?: To grind against those ores in a sensual way to loosen them up for a longer ride (Turn them to dust to double your mining profits) - Recommendations(if you been invited): Not Applicable [N/A] - Others things i should know: I would defiantly call myself a veteran player. But I play primarily ssp. I don't have a lot of experience on servers. But I am an agreeable, and incredibly sexy individual so you will not regret my addition.
  13. It succeeds. However physical examples of inception begin to run out of control with terrible results. (People growing inside other people, tearing organs/suffocating. Airplanes in airplanes crushing and killing passengers, nuclear reactors inside nuclear reactors killing millions from the inevitable meltdown and fallout) The world quickly collapses as the lack of inception puns fail to keep the physical examples at bay. Planes fall out of the sky, Horses eat each other. And sharks walk on land. You sit in your chair, staring in horror at the chaos and unpleasantness you caused. You pull out your gun inside a gun inside a gun, and blow out the seven brains layered inside one another, growing in your head. I wish my genitals were replaced with a chainsaw.
  14. Why did you want to delete your account? You can't leave. Your here forever.
  15. Much obliged! This is all really good stuff to know! Do you know if explosions only occur on the surface?
  16. Hmm. I do believe I have the option to create a void. I never thought about that before. Voids make me a little nervous but there is definitely no better age to make a mob grinder in. Thank you sir. I appreciate the feedback, this is very helpful to me! *Nukes current grinder*
  17. He said this better then I could have. The main archive is the main .zip file where the Spax texture pack is located. It's usually as simple as dragging the folders out of the mod support packs and dropping them into the main texture archive (hence why I used the term main archive.) It's a rather simple process and fairly easy to figure out, but like I said, and the offer still stands, If you really can't figure it out for some reason, let me know and I'll do it for you.
  18. I generally try to fill in parameters with as many "Normal" parameters as possible, while only isolating the ones that you want to add to avoid the generator adding instability causing attributes to my age. For example. If i want to use the world for mining, I'll generally have everything set to a normal vanilla parameter, and then only add dense ores in. This still adds some unavoidable corruption, but 8 times out of 10 its nothing game breaking and you can mine in it. I've been quite partial to making worlds with eternal nights turned on in an ocean biome and I have all parameters for things like caves and stuff turned off. It isn't the perfect mob grinder realm, but its much easier then filling in every cave in a 500 block radius to get a good spawn rate going.
  19. I can't give you a copy of tekki with spax in it already, but (I really should look this up and you probably have every right to shit on me guys) if it isn't against any new rules either on minecraft, or this forum (I didn't find anything against it here, but if im wrong, I await your shit with open arms) Id be happy to set up and provide a copy of the spax texture pack with as much mod support as I can cram into it. Then again, and I mean you no offense sir, installing texture packs is a pretty straight forward process and even adding in mod support (i could be wrong here but this worked for me) is as easy as adding the files of one archive into the main archive. If you really can't figure it out, id be happy to help, but this does seem like a pretty trivial thing to do, at least in my opinion.
  20. Wow. This brought a tear to my eye sir. Really, absolutely beautiful work. I think I'm going to follow this schematic in creative mode and then try out my own modified design, If I come up with anything ill post it here. Let's get innovative!
  21. I'll see if I cant get those files out. If I do ill post em for you.
  22. If shutting off norton doesn't help, try clearing your cache too.
  23. Whenever a mod makes me upset I usually just masturbate out of anger and then get over it because theres more important things to worry about then disagreements over the Internet. Not to knock you or anything, (in fact welcome to the forums Sylas, you will fit in well here) I'm just saying. In my opinion none of this drama over technic, ftb, etc etc etc really matters and the people who care about it should probably just go jack with with an anal stimulant device. (ASD)
  24. I pirated obtained a legal demo of the game during infdev to play with it, I instantly fell for it and realized I wanted those updates asap. So I went ahead and shelled out the 10$ for it. No regrets.
  25. I figured I'd post to try to contribute something to this conversation. As the prolo stated, make sure third party mods that are not to be inserted directly into the "mods" folder are inserted into modpack.jar. When you open your .bin folder in the technic pack install area up, you will see the common "minecraft.jar" and an additional jar called "modpack.jar" I'm going to assume you have installed basic mods before, so just follow what you would normally do to install optifine, with the exception of adding it to modpack instead of minecraft. Best of luck and tell us how it works out. (if it works please describe in graphic detail what your currently wearing)
