  1. Phew. I'll admit that I can see CJ's side. It would be nice to get rid of code that is really only needed on wooden pipes (for buildcraft's own purposes, anyway) I guess we can put down our pitchforks and torches and go home.
  2. Glad you like it. The start of my real base: It's gonna have underwater tunnels and towers and bridges and stuff. The bridge from the island was going to be a rail, but they seemed glitchy when I tried them and its so short that it isn't even worth it. Free building materials is awesome when you have big plans and little space. A Thermal Expansion stone generator: Just an Igneous Extruder on top of an Aqueous Accumulator. The pic of my farm wont post. It's nothing special anyway. I'm coming up with a list of things to bring back from the mainland on an 'expedition' I'm planning. So far I have: 2 each of Pigs, Cows, Sheep, and Chickens in single use safari nets from the abandoned mineshaft. MFR Rubber Pumpkins if I can find 'em. Jungle, Birch, and Spruce saplings. Vines
  3. Oh. I'll try harder next time.
  4. That's... what you're supposed to do. Everybody does it. Don't they?
  5. Oh noe! That's terrible! It's gone?!? Wot?
  6. I know Laptops are the only option for some people. I was mostly kidding. Click on the big gear on the top right of the main launcher screen. Those options are there.
  7. Wait! I've heard of this virus! The only way to get rid of it is to snap your hard disks in 2 and dipping all your sticks or ram in liquid ammonia. Once you have done that upgrade to IE10 or Chrome of Firefox or Opera or even Safari, anything is better than IE8.
  8. Don't use a laptop? They're relatively.... bad in general, at least for stuff like gaming. But anyway, as long as you have one you may as well try allocating more RAM to the Launcher if you haven't already. =P
  9. Nope. YogBox is still on there. That's SP only.
  10. Yeah, which would you rather play: Magic World, with a bunch of well known, familiar, and borderline boring mods. -or- Hexxit, with an epic webpage, cool name, all sorts of exciting new mods.... Also I believe that the explanation for the permissions problem was that KakerMix decided that he wasn't going to spend the time to ask all the modders since he was making Technic for a specific community and was technically private. Of course, then the Yogscast picked it up and it spawned its own community and then "Hey. I don't remember this KakerMix asking me for permission!!!" Sumthin like that.
  11. So cool. I never was much of a programmer myself. The 1 tree design I described above is probably as good as it gets for me.
  12. But GregoriousT is a meanie. But anyway, yeah, both have their advantages but I'm sticking with Tekkit bacuase MAX FPS: Technic- 103 FTB- 25
  13. Fillers no longer drop things they remove from the world as items. They are simply deleted.
  14. Awesome. I never considered that approach... So it's excavate but it plants as well?
  15. Like I said before. You will need these configs or else you will need to distribute the config files with the changes from the default that you made to everyone that wants to join your server.
  16. I would use a turtle. it wouldn't be too hard to program it: (pseudo code) while true use item in slot 1 (sapling) use item in slot 2 (bonemeal) mine forward move forward i = 0 while i < 10 mine up move up end move down 10 move back 5 unload all slots into chest except for 1 & 2 move forward 4 end As you can see it's fairly simple. Doesn't cover everything, like fuel, but shouldn't be to tricky. The tree would be grown on a single dirt block over a pit of flowing water that pushes saplings and apples to obsidian pipes.
  17. I see. Well, it would be a nice feature, but really, how hard is it to go to %appdata% and cut and paste mods?
  18. They come back to life and everyone is happy until one of those massive herbivore ones accidentally steps on a turtle. I wish we had spoilers here.
  19. And zips. But, hey, if they can do it, why can't we? =) How is that relevant? Is their launcher is based on MultiMC and ours is based on Magic Launcher?
  20. I generally regard stuff like survival island as something for vanilla only, but WRONG! It's fun with tekkit too! Check out what I've been up to! I <3 Thermal Expansion Outside of my house: Map of my island: If people are interested I can post more pics as I make progress.
  21. Nope, Humans are still in charge, and the thread is unlocked as can be. I wish everyone in the modded Minecraft community could be kind and helpful to one another and work together to create the bestest modpacks ever!
  22. As far as actual modpacks go, FTB and Tekkit Lite are nearly identical. Stuff like the launcher and website and community are where the differences arise. They just can't let IC2 go! Their 1.5 beta pack has a dev build in it! Adding/removing mods would be a nice thing to see on the Technic Launcher.
  23. Umm... That's still the same error. I'm no expert, but I have dealt with this before and I believe this is the problem: 27.06 13:16:49 [server] SEVERE java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot 178 is already occupied by ee.BlockEETorch_34d18542 when adding codechicken.enderstorage.BlockEnderChest_2783cb25 Did you double check the config copy job you did? Is the folder named correctly? Keep in mind I have never used a hosting provider before, I have only run servers on my own machine here at my home.
  24. Better than Wolves, I think.
  25. I see. That's good. Although I do doubt even he would go that far.
