  1. You can use Antimater in a fulmination generator to create power. I've not tried in the current build, but in my previous world it cost more power to generate the antimatter than the fulmination generator could produce. Big loss so not really very useful. Changing to a particle collider to get some strange matter is probably more useful, then you can use an Atomic Assembler.
  2. There's also the Deep Dark which is from the Extra Utilities mod.
  3. Did you know that you can pick the shape of a Carpenter's Block before placing it rather than using the Carpenter's Hammer? I discovered this accidently last night. With a Carpenter's Slope on your hotbar if you hold shift and use your scroll wheel it will rotate through all the shapes a block can be.
  4. Check out this EE3 thread it has some information on the subject '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> I've never tried it myself though.
  5. If you want full access to your computer from other locations/dimensions/planets then you need to look into the Quantum Network Bridge. To transport items in from other locations such as quarries I usually use Ender chests with import/export buses for a connection.
  6. Personally I built my Galacticraft launch pad inside a mountain and made a nice sliding roof door, James Bond villan style! I think the biggest use other than drilling platforms is big doors.
  7. If you're stuck making something then the first thing to check is the NEI recipe.
  8. Yeah, not exactly game breaking but we noticed the same on our server. Presumably something must have changed in Galacticraft between 1.1.10 and 1.2.6.
  9. I've not tried since we reset the world for 1.6 but I'm pretty sure I tried that but still got standard skeletons. Guess I'll put that on my to do list for things to try again.
  10. How are you farming the wither skulls to power this? Every time I've tried to capture one in a safari net I've onl ended up with standard skeletons.
  11. I've wondered the same. They're in NEI and are apparently added by Thermal Expansion, but I've neer seen one. They supposedly spawn in ice plains.
  12. Withers aren't hostile? Do you just mean the boss? I tried to spawn some on my previous world once but didn't even get that part working, so no other sensible suggestions. You could fill the room with oil and set it on fire!
  13. Some reason you can't use Grinders?
  14. Except when you're all excited about going to Mars!
  15. We had the same problem. There was disappointment for the abandonded projects and lost space stations but in the end we decided it was better to restart and try the new things. Boy do I miss my power suit! I understand that there is not a lot of choice if we want to keep up with the latest versions, however I agree if it happens again too soon I'm not sure our group would be too pleased.
  16. I figured we'd need to re-wire all our machines due to the Thermal Expansion changes but I never realized there were going to be so many other changes. It's probably not going to be worth the hassle in the end but I would still be interested to hear any details of things that went wrong or had to be changed/fixed after upgrading. As a server admin it's a bit annoying to have to start a new world each time there's a major update. We have to decide if we're ready to abandon any major projects in progress. And when we eventually get to Minecraft 1.7 we'll have to reset again if I'm not mistaken due to the world gen changes.
  17. The announcement sticky says "loading a Tekkit 1.1.X world will NOT end well. A fresh start/new world is HIGHLY recommended". Is there any information on what kind of things will go wrong? I'd love to go to Mars but I'm not sure everyone on our server is ready for a new world yet. Has anyone tried it yet?
  18. I've been using a 10 day trial of jProfiler http://www.ej-technologies.com/products/jprofiler/overview.html which I found linked in an old Forge thread.
  19. Yeah I thought that would be a good feature when I started too. But once you get your power suit it you quickly forget about it as that has various underwater options.
  20. Yeah, I run a server for a few friends, about 6 regulars. Two of us were building grand space stations and due to having rooms which were too large to seal we both opted for multiple oxygen bubbles. Between us I think there were probably about 40. Soon after the lag on the server started to get worse and worse, it builds up over time, to the point were I was restarting the server 3 times a day. TPS was down to 5. I suspected the bubbles but couldn't prove it so I installed a java profiler on the system to properly investigate. Every class which was eating too much CPU time was a micdoodle8 one, the bubbles the most. They seem to trigger tile updates too often or something like that. We destroyed all the bubble distributers on the server and things went back to normal. Still got some "[Minecraft-Server] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?" in the log, so I checked again. It was micdoodle8 classes hogging the CPU again but thing time it was the oxygen pipe network refreshes causing the issues. So finally after disconnecting the majority of pipes from the collectors (still need to fill oxygen tanks) the server calmed down and it's like we're playing on a new world again.
  21. It's because Galacticraft isn't designed with all the other mods in mind. I quickly realized in my own experiments that only vanilla or galacticraft blocks would seal.
  22. Biggest cause of lag on my server, oxygen bubbles. So much so we've had to ban their use. Pretty much everything related to Galacticraft Oxygen causes trouble.
  23. Because we're getting all our power from Nether lava I've never really looked into Biofuel beyond making a little so I could have a tank of every liquid. I'll add that to the list of things to cover in the future. I didn't go very deep into Minefactory this time as I'm still learning about it. It was the Galacticraft stuff I wanted to make sure I got out there.
  24. I've been playing the new Tekkit for a month or so now with a few friends on a private server. The one thing we've noticed while playing is the lack of current information on some of the mods and their interactions with each other. In particular for Galacticraft. I decided try and help out by creating a few videos about the things we've built and discovered. To try and give some inspiration and ideas for things like generating oxygen on the moon. I'd be interested in any feedback you guys might have. The first video with links to the others is here:
