  1. Another thing I heard was something involving "moving lava" that I think was causing a lot of lag issues. if you had a lot of non-source block lava in the nether or something like that I think it was breaking the world with lag. Could be mistaken on this one too though. Still new to this, but something worth looking into if you haven't isolated the problem yet.
  2. Yea, I saw a lot of different methods, some with tunnels, some with caves, even a really complex one that involved TNT, pressure plates, delayed repeaters and a long hallway, but this was by far the simplist. He still busts through a fair amount of Obsidian and I usually have to replace a few Iron Golems after, but they still make quick work of him. I'm down about 16 layers and about 50 blocks away from anything I'd be pissed about losing, btw so there's no chance of him breaking out of the room, then I just replace what ever blocks he busted, spawn some new golems and leave the room ready for the next time I need it.
  3. Ok, I haven't changed the ID, I wasn't sure if that had work, never saw a comfirmation on that one, but I'll do that when I get home. The correct ID is in NEI, right? And damn, I'll have to create a new Quarry world. Oh well I'm sure I'll get something good out of this one either way. And I want Uranium because I want to play with all the new stuff, not skip around. =P
  4. Hmm... Alright, like I said I think I got both of those set up correctly. I left a max size quarry running when I left for work today so hopefully I'll find some with that.. Although it was in a pre-update mystcraft world so we'll see what happens
  5. So what was the working fix for getting the uraninite ore to spawn in previously loaded chunks/worlds? I changed the retrogen to true in both files(I believe there were 2 I needed to change), but do I need to change the block ID as well? I tried hunting down some "new chunks" and looking for the ore there, but it still didn't seem to be spawning. Haven't seen it in any of my old chunks either.
  6. In the previous version I was able to do it in the "LoginMessage.txt" file. It worked the same as a MOTD where it sent the server name, number of people logged in, and a little message I could customize that everyone would see when they logged in. Anyway, I'll try ForgeEssentials tonight after work, I really should have installed that earlier anyway. =P Thanks for the tip.
  7. Yea, I just caught one in a Safari Net and popped it into my mob factory. I'm sure I'll have a ton in no time. Question for you guys here. I just realized that after I upgraded my server, the line of code in the login message that's supposed to activate Entities on Rei's Minimap doesn't seem to be doing it's job anymore. Does anyone know if this process was changed or just broken for the time being?
  8. Just wanted to throw this in here incase no one else stumbled across this, though I'm sure I'm the last one to notice. =P No more infinite Blaze Rods using the Pulverizer/Minium Stone. You still get 4 Powder from pulverizing rods, but the Stone no longer offers a recipe to make Rods from powder, so don't go pulverizing all your Blaze Rods like I did! Haha. Time to go catch me a Blaze!

If you're looking for a quick, simple solution, here's my "Wither Spawn Room" http://imgur.com/Y2UNW0K It's not as satisfying as fighing him on your own, but it gets the job done and you get your Star at the end. =P I started with just a basic room, don't make it more then 3 high, you don't want him flying around too mcuh. I wanted to do the whole room out of Obsidian but I was being lazy so now after each spawn I just fill in what ever was broken. You'll probably lose a golem or two, but they really tear the Wither apart.

  11. That's weird. How much RAM are you allocating to the server? Could that be the issue? My upgrade went perfect, I'm on now and no lag what-so-ever. Also, I left my anchor up at my base and a quarry in a Mystcraft world, didn't seem to break anything.

  13. I don't remember exactly where I saw it, but I read a whole "flame" log basically of how 1.1.5 "ruined everything". I can't remember how old the posts were, but no more then a month, March at the latest. Some of the stuff was a little scary, but I'm sure most of it was exaggerated grossly. There's a lot of negative about 1.1.5 out there if you look, that's why I'm a little nervous to pull the trigger, but I already value the opinions of the people here which is why I asked what everyone here thought of 1.1.5.

  15. Hello again everyone, Got a few questions regarding upgrading my server to Tekkit 1.1.5(Think that's what the latest was). First off, I've seen a lot of posts elsewhere saying it's not worth it, it's too unstable, inconsistant, broken, etc. I know it's still in early phases and things are still being patched, but is it worth the upgrade? I feel like I've done just about all there is in the current version and I'd love some new toys to play around with and harrass my buddies with. Secondly if it is worth it... How do I actually upgrade. I haven't been able to find much documentation on the steps/utilities required. I'm new to hosting and I've never upgraded anything before so if anyone knows of a tutorial/step by step guide, or is willing to walk me through it, I would really appreciate the help.
  16. Hey Charlie, In regards to the Wither Skele option, that's actually what I built my Mob Factory around(the one I posted on my other thread). Wither Skeletons share a mob ID with regular Skeletons so you need to use the "Spawn Exact Copy" option in the spawner, which uses A LOT more essense and power to spawn, otherwise even with a Wither Skeleton in the Net it will only spawn regular skeletons. I use an Ender Tank up at my Cattle farm, linked to another ET in my Mob factory to fill up some reserve tanks that feed into the Auto Spawner. Then at the end of my Mob Factory where I have the grinder for that, I have a third ET linked to the other 2, so I have 2 sources constantly feeding the auto spanwer. When I go through a cycle of Pigmen(not using "Exact Copy") I usually end up with over 500 gold nuggets before I run back out of Essense and need to prep again.
  17. Yea... I've got about 30k fert so I don't think I need to make any changes there. All I need to do to increase the output if I really needed to is add more composters since I'm only using 3 for all my sewers. Also, I made a SLIGHT adjustment to my biofuel setup tonight and I just needed to show it off because I'm finally happy with how it looks. =P Check these out! http://imgur.com/3dvUBcB Condensed space, increased number of generators, much less underground cabling. It's soooo much better. And I have plenty of room to add on 2-4 more of those stacks eventually. There's a liquid Tesseract in the middle of each of those, feeding the tanks.
  18. That's a good question... I don't think so because I think I started seeing the "blah blah mod has update available" AFTER 1.1.5 launched. Could be wrong though. I need to learn how to upgrade my server so I can play with the new stuff, the MFFS sounds really fun and it would stop my buddie from letting creepers into my god damn house every night... Lol
  19. I haven't tried a quarry on the moon, I don't spend much time there anymore after I got lost for 2 hours... I took off exploring one day then went to head back and realized that my waypoints didn't stay... Thank god for those footprints... Lol. Does the update bring anything more fun to the Moon? I wasn't finding much of anything good there besides a bunch of alien villages.
  20. Hmm, didn't think of that... This was before I dropped my anchor in my main base so maybe another attempt would be worth while. Thanks for the tip. Yea, my base is starting to get pretty spread out too. I try to keep everything pretty compact becasue I don't like have to expand and level more land. I also have a fence going around the entire thing because I was having a hell of a time with mobs so that's just more crap I need to deal with to expand. It's not that it's hard, it's just more then I want to do. Lol. I'm not much for building structures and big fancy "Factory" buildings everything is just outside or underground. Even my main base is still just a cave network. Easier to expand that way. Houses and buildings are a pain in the balls.
  21. I do most of my quarries underwater. And I have the water electrolyzer for the power helmet and night vision to help me see, then when the quarry is done, I can jump in the water and check the sides for ores it might have missed. I was having trouble keeping a quarry going in a mystcraft age, it kept stalling out for some reason. I know it wasn't a lack of power, but I'd be standing there watching it(I like watching it... Lol) and it would suddenly just stop. I would have to pick up the tesseract and put it back down again to get the thing started again.

  23. Offfff course I don't have the big gun. =/ I think I started my server like a week before 1.1.5 rolled out... Oh well i'll just set up a bunch of quarrys over the ocean to drain some power. I've spent the morning doing MASSIVE upgrades to my setup, expanding my ME network, completely automating bio fuel farms, added a handful of generators, and started my DSU room... It's been a productive morning. Lol. I'm so glad I made this thread because I've been able to set up almost everything you guys have talked about. Maybe not to the same scales, but I'm getting there. Already have 5 of my 8 biofuel components fully automated, with level detection. Running out of mats though so I think I'm going to need to take a nice long mining trip tonight. =P
  24. Is the Mining Laser one of the Auto-Disabled items in multiplayer? I'm hosting my own server but I don't see any sign of this thing anywhere
  25. Wow, Chop, very nice. Were those all DSUs in the last picture? I guess my question there would be how are you moving them to and from the ME network, it doesn't look like you have those hooked into anything, although I'm sure there's pipe or something running along the backs for input? But what about pulling from the DSUs? How are you going about that? Also, I'm going to make myself sound like an even bigger newb here but, what is and how do I make this mining drill you keep talking about Toki? I haven't seen i before, I can't find it in NEI, I don't even know what mod it's from. That's not a Tekkit Classic item, is it?
