Thanks a ton, what exactly wasn't working for you? The main reason I'm looking for one that's already put together like what you shared is I'm struggling to find the individual packs since there's just so many at this point. I had tried pulling in a couple individual packs to cover what I thought I was missing but they weren't working for me.

I'm having a lot of trouble locating an updated Sphax BDCraft for the current version of Tekkit. Everything I download seems to be missing even the basic Thermal Expansion textures that I'm 90% sure I used to have in some of my older worlds(can't double check now because I deleted all my packs trying to update). I don't expect every block to have a texture, but I know things like the Rubber Trees at least had textures before. Does anyone here have a link to a complete pack/patch they could share? Or if BDCraft is falling behind, how about some suggestions for other texture packs that work well with Tekkit?

Total Tekkit newbie... Beginners guide?

Best bet is to find some YouTube "Lets Play" videos. The MindCrafters have some great Tekkit tutorials but they tend to focus on one mod pack at a time. Another one I watched a lot of was TheOnlyBently. I can't remember if he only had Tekkit Lite though. -
Yea but if you're in Limbo already Charlie the quickest way out is to find the pool of reality stuff at the bottom. Only problem is that it ports you back to the overworld at a completely random location. I actually got ported into a block and died one time... 10s of thousands of blocks from my base...

Define "reset your network"... I use a couple Dark Cables in my set up and it doesn't seem to mess anything up. You just need to place them where they are only shutting off what you want them too. That means anything after the dark cable gets cut off. It's just like taking out a single lenght of ME Cable. I use 2 Dark cables on my Farms. One is used to turn on my 4 fertilizers for a quick boost in production, the other is used to turn off 3 different ferts to preserve fert if I'm running low. I just use them as toggles and they only effect what I need them to

Only thing I can think of is try using a bucket on the Engine itself... But that's going to take a while

Yea, I'd go with Insertion/Distribution pipes. Distro pipes let you set how many of an item flow through each direction of it.

No, that's been there since they added AS I believe. Breeder Rods go in fission reactors and are used to recharge almost empty fissle cells. The over head looks like this: W = Water, B = Fission Reactor with Breeder Rod, F = Fission Reactor with almost empty Fissle Cell, C = Control Rod WWWWW WC B C W W B F B W WC B C W WWWWW That setup will charge the fissle cell in the middle reactor, but very slowly, and 4 breeder rods will not return a 100% charged fissle cell. I don't know the exact ratio, but I think I was pulling my rods out in the 10-15% range and they were charging to about 85-90% before the breeder rods were depleated. Could be wrong, I haven't used the Fission set up for a while now.

This is what's really nice about the new Tekkit. There's a number of different options for your main source of power so depending on your play style or where you've set up base, what you have available to you, you can pick an appropriate power source. The Server I've been playing on lately has about 5-10 dedicated players right now, and each of us are using a different combination of power. Personally I love bio fuel. It's expensive to set up early on, but it's so easy to maintain. I'm looking into supplementing it with a stack of Combustion engines that I'm going to be feeding fuel. I know a couple other people who utilize Bio Fuel as well, one guy who is going straight Atomic soon, a few others are running Magmatics. It's great to see the different set ups everyone comes up with.

Edit:: Ignore since Lethosos answered it outright This isn't something I remember exactly since I never use glass panes, just glass blocks, but that's a vanilla item, and I would guess that any changes to them would have come through vanilla updates

I don't want to be "that dick" but Tekkit is an advanced Minecraft, therefore a basic understanding of Minecraft is usually required... Did you put any programs on the Turtles? Do you have Wireless adapters on them and the PC in question? Have you written any code at all yet and it's just not running, or did you not realize that these aren't a "drop and go" block?

Did your world exist before you upgraded to 1.1.5? If so then you will only find Uraninite in new chunks, as in places that hadn't been generated yet. However, if the world is new with 1.1.5, you should be able to find Uraninite between layers 2-25 I believe was the default. It's not exactly abundant, but still not as rare as Diamonds. Proabably see it spawned about as much as you see Gold, just not in as large viens. If you have particles on in options you can actually tell if there's Uraninite near by because it spouts off little floaty green particles, even when completely covered. There is a way to get Uraninite to spawn in already generated chunks by adjusting the config files of Atomic Science, but I never quite got that to work for me. Your best bet if your world existed before 1.1.5 is to just make a new Mystcraft world. It will definitely spawn there and you don't have to go running thousands of blocks away to find it.

AE query and storage of physical items
Prototype958 replied to mrcavallol's topic in Tekkit Discussion
You can sort alphabetetically, by quantity or by block ID I believe. -
AE query and storage of physical items
Prototype958 replied to mrcavallol's topic in Tekkit Discussion
I haven't tried them directly to a Tesseract, but what I usually do for my quarries is diamond pipe off the tesseract to sort out the crap blocks that I don't need extra of like cobble and dirt. Then the good stuff goes to a Gold chest with an import bus. -

The Deep Storage Units connected with Storage Buses are by far the best way to manage large quantities of individual items. I use them for all my bars, Saplings, Seeds, Fertilizer, Foods, excess Dirt/Cobble/Sand, Coal, pretty much anything and everything that you're going to have thousands of late game. Just make sure that if you do use the DSU that you either have 0 of the item on your network before you connect the storage bus. This way the ME network will prioritize storage on the DSU over your ME Drives. If there is even just one of what ever you're putting into the DSU on your Drives, the ME network will always add to the drive instead of the DSU. What I do when converting to a DSU is to set up where I want it and attach a Precision Export Bus and tell it to transfer stacks of the item I'm trying to store. That way it will pull all of that item off your ME network and dump it into the DSU. After there's none left on the network you can break off the Export Bus and attach the Storage bus in its place. That will let you access all those items in the DSU from your network without using up precious Drive space. God that sounds way more confusing then it actually is... Lol. Let me know if you have any trouble understanding that! -
How can I get water to fill a space?
Prototype958 replied to quagmire38's topic in Tekkit Discussion
What about the Liquid Router? I've never used them, but the item router will take a dropped item and basically just output it in another direction, even if there's nothing there to accept it. I use item routers in my cactus farm to make sure that "popped" cactus pieces get directed to a stream of water to be channeled to the obsidian pipe for collection. EDIT:: I should confirm, I've used liquid routers, but only with tanks, don't think they have any internal storage buffer or anything so it would make sense that they just spit the water where you want it. -
Also, despite all of these great ideas, you could just go for the 10k mark. Lol. 10k plus items and the Storage monitors convert the numbers to 10k, 11k, 12k, etc. They you don't have to be so precise. =P Plus, having 10k of something is way more impressive then 2000. Lol

Yea I think that's only heat generated from other parts of the suit. Not 100% sure on that though. I haven't come across any other items that work like that so I would say it's unique to MPS mod. It's definitely not from Vanilla Minecraft. I know when you use the Minium Stone outside of the crafting table to change blocks on the ground there's a way to cycle through some of the different transformations, but I don't remember if that's just Shift or Shift+Scroll.
-
Yea I guess I should have mentioned that mine was the same way. It stops FEEDING sand into the furnace when the network has 200, but what ever was already in the furnace still cooks after. =P
-
Yes! You can set up level emitters on specific machines or BUSes. Level emitters can be set to either turn off or send a redstone signal when a certain item reaches a certain quantity. I have my ME network set up to automatically cook up glass and stone when I get low. The level emitter monitors how much I currently have, and when I think 150-200 it kicks on, sending a signal to the export bus to stop feeding sand/cobble to the furnace. =P

Alright, I think I've found a pretty efficient set up for the Fission reactors. I've been at this for days trying to get my Survival setup to work properly and finally just jumped into creative and made about a dozen different ones. I wanted one that would get the maximum number of turbines spinning at full power and this is what I came up with. Damn radiation poisoning ruining my SS... It's a nice clean setup with 2 fission reactors. It's easy to wire up and it's not crazy huge either. At 1600C those turbines were putting out about 2000Mj/s

Have you Shit+Scroll to select the weapon? I don't think it defaults to them I think you have to cycle through since there's a number of useable attachments for the gauntlet. When you have the gaultlet on your hotbar and selected, hold Shift and scoll the mouse ball like you would to cycle through items on your hotbar, this will cycle through the attachments on your gautlet instead, like crafting table, omniwrench, railgun, etc. If that's not it, are you sure there's power? Simply having the battery installed on the item isn't enough, it needs to be charged which can be done a number of ways. 1)Energetic Infuser is a MFR block that takes chargeable items as input and charges them when hooked up to a power source. 2)Solar Panel attachment for the MPS Helmet. Probably the easiest way to maintain power, just slow to build up. 3)Kenetic Energizer attachment for the MPS Power Legs. Build power while spriting, but also produces A LOT of heat that needs other attachments to cool down. I don't like this one because it heats up quick and can set you on fire... 4)I think there's an attachment for the MPS Chest piece that converts heat to energy but I'm not sure. Never used it because I don't like the Kenetic attachment for the legs

Yea but then with pumpkins and melons you have to tie in Auto Crating tables to break them down to seeds, don't you? I don't think straight Pump/Melons work in the reactors. Trick I stole from someone here(either Gildan or Dewfire). Simply all the blocks the planter would normally plan onto with cobble/stone/something trees wont grow on EXCEPT the center block that the planter is attached to. Only one tree with grow at a time, but the auto farm setups are so quick it wont matter anyway. Trick I learned for myself so you don't need to produce as much: If you have your planters being fed saplings/seed/what ever automatically, they will take up to 9 full stacks(the 1.0.6 once at least... 1.1.5 takes a shit ton more) before passing the mats on to the rest of your setup. That's 576 saplings that aren't being utilized in your setup! To fix this, take a stack of dirt and fill up all but one of the planters inventory slots with a single dirt block. The planter can't do anything with it so it will stay there forever and essentially limit the excessive amounts of potential bio fuel that aren't being utilized! http://imgur.com/5u0Df1Q That's from 1.1.5, but the idea is the same. =P

I like to just sit in my basement and watch the machines run. Haha.

Hey Bad, that looks really cool man, nice and clean. I always find it more impressive to see people do these things with Buildcraft instead of using AE items. I know I could have never pulled off my bio setup with just Buildcraft pipes. >.< Got a couple of tips for you though since I just finished my automated biofuel set up not too long ago. 1) You can add a LOT more Generators without needing to add more Reactors then you already have. I'm currently running 24 Generators off of 4 Reactors and they have no problem keeping up, even when I'm constantly running a max 64x64 sized Quarry in a Mystcraft world, and a full power Mining Laser(the one from 1.1.5). I also have a pretty large ME Network that uses quite a bit of power and a small(but growing quickly) automated Ore Processing center draining on that. Oh, and 4 energy cells that I place hook up to charge on a regular basis. Oh and can't forget about the auto harvesting farms all running off Tesseracts to feed this sucker. =P 2) I'd suggest using a void pipe for the excess material. It's less laggy then dumping items into lava. Personal note: I think they look nicer too. =P 3) If you want FULL automation(as in you don't even have to worry about turning it on, and it shuts off at certain levels) Look into the Applied Energistics mod. Amazing stuff in there. EDIT:: Also, it's hard to tell from you last SS, but are you only using 1 type of sapling? It looks like you have wheat, carrots and potatoes, which is great for efficiency, but you can actually use each of the different saplings(Birch, Oak, Spruce, Jungle, and I think even Rubber Tree saplings) to increase efficiency even higher! =P
