Poor Digdug83 - this thread has gone way off topic and I am going to continue that arc myself. My apologies. I agree with Curunir's thoughts about the mod almost completely. Yes it is not ergonomic. Yes it is a bit buggy. However - it does have its tremendous uses so the question of utility or value is up to the individual at this point. I find all the utilities in the glove to be invaluable - especially the wireless terminal while in base. I find the glove to be fantastic when I am mining in the Nether for Nether Quartz or Glow Stone. I can't tell how many times I've saved my life from fall damage due to the Shock Absorbers. Being able to swim and work relatively quicky underwater and be able to see as clearly as the game allows with Night Vision is tremendously helpful. The Rail Gun is hands down the most potent weapon in Tekkit. When all shielded up one is all but invincible. When the cooling is max out an accidental dip into lava in the Nether isn't a disaster. If one is configured properly the flying is extraordinarily fast. All this for the cost of one space (or two spaces if using a power cell for power) on the hot bar. Not bad. Yes it has all the failings enumerated. But on the whole - there's nothing in the game that comes close to its versitility and (mostly) ease of use. Everyone's mileage will vary balancing usefulness versus bugginess/lack of instruction But this is all opinion, which we all know what that's worth! Apologies again to Digdug83 for not contributing what he had asked for in the OP. Best, Jay

I didn't know the flight control module was tinkerable! I'll have to give it a look! Thanks! Best, Jay

You are correct sir. There ARE only 6 possible directions, but as you will note above there are truly only 6 possible directions. When one is tired and make mental calculations like - we start off with 3 dimensions and there are 2 directions per dimension and then in one's exhaustion do the calculation as 3^2 = 9 instead of the right way 3*2 = 6 we end up looking more like an idiot on a public forum! I'll make the corrections in my post so as to not confuse others. Thanks! Best, Jay

I've been playing Tekkit on Peaceful on a private server with my God-son for a while now. I set up a Cattle Breeder/Chronotyper/Grinder/Auto Farm - wheat arrangement with Sewers to speed things along. I also collect the Mob Essence and plan to use it shortly. Just to see, I added a Stained Sapling from ProjectRed-Exploration into the planter, which did its job. For 4 days real time the sapling has not grown. It does not seem to be responding to the fertilizer, but I don't know if that is because Mine Factory Reloaded "sees" the sapling or if ProjectRed-Exporation does not "see" fertilizer. On top of that is the question of why the sapling isn't growing at all. The ground is "hoed" by the Planter and is 4 blocks from a water block. I use lighting, but it is on the ground and off to the sides. There is nothing above the sapling to block it. Do these two mods play together or am I playing the Dunce yet again? Thanks in advance for all the help I've been receiving recently. Best, Jay

Hello, Your first link points to the "Advanced Crafting Table." This table/device is used to make a very limited selection of specific items - basically the "Logic" devices listed on the bottom of the page. To my general understanding (and I may be wrong here) these are the only thing that can be made with this "Advanced Crafting Table." As a side note this table needs to be "powered" by "Lasers" (also in the same mod) in order to function. Your second like points to the "Autocrafting Table". I'm going to do a direct lift from the site description - The Autocrafting Table is a block that can be used to automate crafting. The recipe to craft must first be set up inside the table by placing items in the table in the pattern of the desired recipe. Ingredients for the desired items can then be added automatically with Buildcraft pipes, and the results of the recipe can be removed similarly. I don't know if this table requires external power or not (I've never used it) but you use this table to manufacture items for you. You place the items in the "Autocrafting Table" in the arrangement as you would on a regular crafting table. Then you feed the ingredients, as needed, into the table for it to make the patterened items automatically. This can, in time, using pipes and other devices be made to manufacture the patteren good on command. I hope this helps make the distinction clear. As far as other Autocrafting "Tables" I don't know. If you are seriously looking into Autocraft do look into Applied Energistics. It has two main functions - easy massive storage all in one place and real "Autocrafting" using a multiblock device called a Molecular Assembler. This whole system requires some exotic materials and external power. This tends to be a mid to late game set up. Best, Jay

OK. I am an idiot! In ANY other direction the Fluid Level Emitter was attached to the Export Bus below. But in the one direction I needed it, pointing down, it was not connected as you both pointed out. I just assumed (and the bad joke applies) that since the FLE was connected in all 8 (as pointed out by HeatHunter below this value should be all 5) other directions it must be "considered connected" in the 9th (same mistake here - the correct phrase is "the 6th") (pointing down) direction. Thanks for the heads up! I got another problem that I'll be asking for help on in another thread! Best, Jay edit - because as it turns out I am truly an idiot! Corrections to the numerical values.

Here we see the amount of Destabilized Redstone I have in store in the ME Network. If I am reading this correct I have 32,000 mb of Destabilized Redstone. Here are the settings in the Extra Cells Fluid Level Emitter GUI The trigger amount is, if I understand this correctly, is 20,000 mb. The monitored fluid is Destabilized Redstone. The action is set so that a Redstone Signal is emitted when the ME storage system show LESS than 20,000 mb. As shown in the first pic I have 32,000+ mb in storage. By rights I should not be getting a Redstone signal becaue I am above the cut off value, yes? But in this last pic we see that the emitter is giving off a Redstone signal. I know this to be true because the export bus responds as if it receiving a Redstone signal. Am I misunderstanding something? It would be good if I was because that would be easily corrected when someone here tells me where I am wrong! HALP!! Best, Jay Edit - oops! I realized I made a mistake with the title line - I know its the Extra Cells mod!

Thanks for all the tips guys! I did go with the removal of all the batteries and the keeping of a energy cell in the hot bar. That fixed the problem with my forward speed. I am now back to the forward speed I had from my first suit when I did have all 5 built in batteries. I am not complaining about having my speed back, but I am frustrated that the MMMS insn't acting consistently. However... While I do have my forward speed back I do fall when going forward if I don't also keep pressing the up button. The fall is slower, but it is definately there. So I have to constantly fly in this serpentine path of up and down (falling) when flying forward. The reason being if I keep pressing the up key while flying forward I continue on an upward arc indefinately - so I have to stop the upward thrust at regular intervals. Which then starts me on a downward trajectory. I suppose I should be happy that I got my speed back... Does anyone think this might be fixed by reloading the mod pack on the server or is the problem stored in the save file? Thanks! Best, Jay

I've been playing for about a month on a private server. For almost all of that time I've been flying in a Modular Powersuit without any problems. A couple of time the suit's heat went crazy but cooled off fast enough to forestall death. The other day I was not so fortunate. I was flying along when all of a sudden I was taking fire damage many multiple times a second. I was dead in under a second. I've read around that the problem might be an issue upgraded solar power generator. I dealt with that later. I jumped into creative mode when I respawned and rushed over to reclaim my goodies. When I got there my entire suit was missing as was a number of other items (one was a Large Backpack that was half full - GAH!). In fact the number of items remaining was just enough to fill my hot bar. As that is only one data point, I don't know if that is significant or not. I got home, rebuilt my suit and started to try and fly around again. Note the word, "try." I can climb straight up and dive straight down at the regular high rate of speed. I can fly left, right and backward (once up in the air) by just pressing the, "asd," keys - but at a rate that is somewhere between vanilla walking and vanill running. When I press the forward key, "w," I drop as if the flight motor was cut. The flight system is not off as I can still manuever out of the fall. If I keep my fingers on both the space bar - up - and the "w" key - forward - my climb immediately levels off and I just barely creep forward. Forward at a speed about akin to a "creep". I do not exagerate. I've tested it at just above ground level. I rebuilt the suit the same was as it was before I died and that configuration was working fine. I do have the flight computer and the jet pack. They are keybound so I can see messages on the screen that both are running. I play the world from 2 computers and both are showing the same problem so I am assuming this is on the server side. Any suggestions on how to try and fix this. Not flying reaaaaaaaaaaaaaly sux! Best, Jay edit - clarified one sentence to make it more readable - I hope!

I've had problems too with instantaneous over heating as well. I'll be working doing regular stuff for a while and suddenly the heat bar has shot 2 to 3 length of the indicator bar over the top. This is in the overworld, not using any weapons, not in the desert. I'll just suddenly see flames in the bottom of the screen. I haven't been killed, yet, but I've been brought down to 1/2 heart. I should note that I have the "Cooling System" and the "Water Tank". I just did a little googling and one thought is that it lies with the Advanced Solar Module. A couple of people have had luck removing it.

What's an "ST book"?

Without "op-ing" I can think of two possibles ways that might work - one would be extremely inelegant. You might try using bone meal directly on the dirt. If that doesn't work basically make a direct line of dirt blocks from a grassy area leading down into your lair where you want to set up your grazing area. I believe it needs to be lit enough for the grass to sprout. Clean up trail once success has been achieved.

@Bochen415 - thanks for the info. I haven't had time to try it, but I'm hoping it works when I do. That was a real find! BTW - I am using a Fluid Void Pipe. I can see the water in the Transparent Fluid Duct on its way to the Fluid Void Pipe. That config change should clear up the problem! (I remember the terrible lag when it was clearing a quarry - which was a tip off that something wasn't working right this time).

AE crafting with Magma Crucible and Fluid Transposer
Silmenume replied to Silmenume's topic in Tekkit Discussion
@efflandt - thanks for the heads up! That was a mistake on the "blacklist" setting - I had intended it to be a "whitelist". However I tried it both ways with no success. e.g. - I made my version as a "whitelist" and I tried your suggestion with the "blacklist". Much dismay. @Autocthon - I did try all ME connectors, but that doesn't work. As far as the export busses are concerned being connected to a ME Interface is the same as being directly connected to the main network - IOW the busses don't respond to the ME Interface "instructions". So what happens is that the busses just continually pump out the selected item without regard to the work order placed at the ME Access Terminal. That was an expensive flop. @HeatHunter - using the BuildCraft pipes I was able to completely automate the construction of Tessaracts from the ME Access Terminal in the configuration I showed in my op. The problem was scalability. @Digdug83 - I'm tying to use the system you suggest using Extracells, but I'm having problems with the Fluid Export Bus. I have a 64K Fluid Drive in the ME system and have actually succesfully imported Destabilized Redstone into the network and onto storage. What I am incapable of doing is getting the Fluid Export Bus to recognize the Destablized Redstone in its GUI. I've used NEW to get a "unit" of Destablized Redstone into my inventory and then tried to get the Fluid Export Bus to accept it. Nothing happens when I click on one of the place holders. I tried using a Destabilized Redstone Bucket in the GUI - which it will accept but nothing happens - no Destabilized Redstone fills my Fluid Transposer. I've even tried just plain Redstone. Nothing. Do you have any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? This is me trying to get the Fluid Export Bus to accept Destabilized Redstone in its GUI - perhaps you'll see what mistake I'm making. Thanks everyone for your suggestions to date! edit - spell a poster's name correctly! -
AE crafting with Magma Crucible and Fluid Transposer
Silmenume replied to Silmenume's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Hullo, As per the implied suggestion posed as a question above, I tried using the same arrangement using Item Ducts by Thermal Expansion. I have installed Pneumatic Servos and white listed the items per each side. The redstone setting is set to redstone - low. No luck. Absolutely nothing happens. I don't know if the ME Network interacts with Thermal Expansion Ducts. Watching my ME Crafting Monitor I don't see anything happening at all. This is the settings panel for the top connection of the Item Duct (the one connected to the ME Interface) Below is the connection on the Magma Crucible side. ... and here is the Fluid Transposer connection settings. So I am at a total loss. This is why I was using BC Pipes - at least I understood them and they worked - sort of! ;-) This arrangement has been a total flop for me. What am I doing wrong here? Help!! The suggestion of using the fluid handling capabilities from Extracells sounds intriguing... Thanks everyone! -
Below is my set up for auto crafting on the me network those objects that require the use of the Magma Crucible and the Fluid Transposer. Its not particularly elegant but it gets the job done when the ingredient count is low. When the ingredient count is high the diamond pipe explodes as the ME Interface dumps all the ingredients into the Diamond Transport Pipe at once, overloading it and causing it to explode. FREX - an order of 2 Redstone Energy Cells (which requires 80 redstone) or an order of 40 Redstone Energy Conduits (which requires 80 redstone). Does someone have a design where I could ME export buses directly attached to the Magma Crucible/Fluid Transposer they can share? Or any other design where I am not crippled by having to keep the order count low forcing me to baby sit the AE Interface placing multiple orders in series as each completes? Thank you!

Chain mail recipes show ingredients as fire
Silmenume replied to Silmenume's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Thanks for the heads up, guys! Re: wanting the chain mail. I am playing with my God-son who is 9 on peaceful. He wasn't interested in the armor for its protective qualities but rather its "look." Thanks for the advise though - always welcome.- 5 replies

Does the pump "drain" quarries or any large body of water any more? I've got one set up over a source block of water in a quarry filled with water (and other unwanted fluids) but the level of the quarry is not dropping. 1. The pump is working as I can see water in the transparent fluid duct. 2. The exact area I am pumping from is just water - not oil or sludge. It remember that it used to be that the rate of water depletion was so quick and dramatic that the server lagged so back that I would get kicked. Now I don't see anything happening to the level at all. Thank you.

Hullo! All the recipes for the various pieces of Chain mail armor are showing as flames in the appropriate slots. Does anyone else have this problem? If so I'll report it through the appropriate channels, but I don't want to send a modder running in circles if the problem is unique to me. So far it is persistent through complete shut downs of the game and launcher and rebooting the computer. Thank you!

I understand that ee3 is in an "alpha" state, but I'm wondering if anyone has the final word on whether or not one can make Blaze Rods using a Minium Stone and Blaze Powder? I've Googled about a fair bit, and have found recipes that are fairly recent in time (early 2014) but I can't seem to make it work in game (1.2.9e). Any notes? Thanks in advance...

@HeatHunter and @Curunir Thank you both for your quick responses. Fortunately I found a save of the game that is currently unloadable that predated the dead save by about an hour and a half. From that earlier save I tried the crafting recipe again and it worked. Something glitchy on my end I can only fathom. I also apreciate the information on where to report bugs!
