Nuclear energy provider build contest! [Rewards]
arctichenry replied to jobobee's topic in Get Lost Grotto
So what you are asking for is a fully contained reactor('s) with dedicated cooling that can run uninterupted (as in auto refueling) and has the capability to output a set ammount of power? And how meny houses are we talking here? 10? 20? more? -
Perhaps when the reactor blows up, it can change any blocks within a certain radious into radioactive blocks, and any air blocks within that radious would change into this walk through block that damages you unless you have a certain kind of armor.
-
Adding some "radiated" blocks would be very nice, and give the game more conquence for letting a reactor meltdown, however also allows for a higher potental for griefers.

Tekkit Server on Mac not working
arctichenry replied to Aeladya's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Simply deleate your mods dirrectory inside your server folder, then reboot the server. It should, in theary, redownload all of the required files for you. -
That would be intresting as a standalone game, but as a MC addition, perhaps.
-
Remove all your AV's and install avast. That will fix all your problums.
-
THAT IS THE DAMN REASON. Pardon my rageing, but I have had it with people who dont read the stickys.
-
He just answered your question, smart one.
-
english, although im fairly fluent in batch and assembly.
-
So what you are suggesting is a function that acts like thaumcraft's taint, but only appears when there is a meltdown?
-
Theres a reason windows 8 is still in the dev verson. Currently, java and it are haveing some "slight technical difficulties", as in java not running/calling certain functions.
-
da fuck is this?
-
Try out avast, I think its free. Its prity good, we have it installed on our server computers and use it as a secondary firewall here at school.
-
My bad, I missunderstood your post and edited mine. With respect to its creaters, AVG is a glitchy, crappy antivirous software. Try out avast or somthing like that, but read the sticky to see if it conflicts.
-
The reason AVG blocks it is the way it FTP's to a server to DL the files, its not a simple copy/paste. If you cant uninstall AVG and get a better AV, its not our fault.
-
Remove AVG. I dont meen dissable, I meen REMOVE. It causes conflicts that prevent the launcher from downloading. Also, read the damn stickys, thats what they are for.

Zombies Nuclear Plant Almost Done (Sneak Peak)
arctichenry replied to ZombieWarpig's topic in Get Lost Grotto
Ya, it does, thanks! Im thinking of putting togher 4 or 5 of these now to provide centrialised power for a server. So far, looks good! Thanks again! -
Its possable the players client couldnt establish a check to the auth servers, so it autobooted him. Or atleast I think thats what the serverside check does.

Very impressive! I would personaly love a more detailed example of the wireing, as im thinking of rigging one of these up myself. Have you ever thought about bleeding off some of the power from the reactors to power the coolent generators, but have the solars perduce the starting charge? Any chance we can see the entire coolent setup? Also, dont use any fancy plugins for elevators, just use frames! -
Other people can't connect to my tekkit server?
arctichenry replied to Ben Zen's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Change your port to somthing not being used. Its entiraly possable you have somthing else with a higher priority running through port 25565. Other then that, your config looks good. Is that your local IP, check it. -
Then use a site like pastebin.
-
Honestly, read the stickys.

Server Wont Start, Possible Block Conflict
arctichenry replied to ace223's question in Tekkit Classic
Ya, the server treats each placed block and each block in the inventory as the same ID, the only diffrence is which file its saved in. For example, the placed blocks are saved in the world folder, but the player inventorys are saved in their own file. -

arctichenry replied to ace223's question in Tekkit Classic
Unfortantly, it would also change in inventorys, as tekkit doesnt save items by their name, but by their ID. -
Two options: 1. norton is interfearing, dissable it. 2. You have a cracked MC account.
