Try exit the launcher, right-click on it and choose "Run as administrator". If that doesn't work, try going to %appdata% and delete the .technic file. This will force the Launcher to redownload everything.

That is true, but you have to click on a modpack BEFORE login. I tested your theory by choosing a blank slot on the modpack list on the launcher and clicked the login: Nothing happened. Then I scrolled to Hexxit and clicked login: downloading... OP's problem was that he had no modpacks at all, you can't log in to the launcher before choosing a modpack.

Tekkit Linky. If you believe you have a modpack bug, post in the appropiate modpack Bug Section. Tekkit Classic is old, it stays on the old version of MC together with all old mod versions. I wouldn't be surprised if it has bugs. Please take the time to read the Forum Rules.

Did you arrive at the Mojang logo? Does it say ForgeModLoader on the crash logs? Then post in the appropiate Modpack bug section. If none of the above is true, post in Technic Launcher bug Section.

Hello Jimmy! Did you buy Minecraft from minecraft.net? If you have, and have used the Technic Launcher once online to verify, then you should be able to play it offline. However, if you have a cracked minecraft then there is nothing anyone can do for you. Technic doesn't support piracy. Please take the time to read the Rules.

If you are on windows, it is : Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a program Depending on how many programs you have, it takes a moment to load the list. I'm gonna take a guess here, you have AVG? AVG is that irritating little kid that sits on a corner fuming and "blocks" stuff it doesn't understand but does it anyway "cuz I said so! I dont need to tell you!! blublublublabuu!!" There is another, better antivirus: Avast! This one is free and recommended by Technic team to not screw with the launcher or any other false positive that AVG constantly blocks for no reason. Linky
